One mile away is Harvey Bear County Park, with trails for bikes, horses or walking. We are 5 minutes from the Gilroy Outlets, yet a world away from the hustle and bustle! Come, relax and enjoy nature! Enjoy Gilroy Gardens (seasonally) or go hiking at a nearby State or County Park. Or just relax at the Farm.

This is an animal farm. If you love new animal experiences, this is the place for you! If you are scared of or allergic to cats or dogs, this might not be the place for you! If you can't handle new smells and sounds, this might not be the place for you. You will feed and enjoy the animals; please respect their space, no chasing and no going into their enclosures.
There is dirt, dust and various country critters. We love Country Life!!

We are exceptionally cautious with camp fires. If it is particularly hot and windy, there will be no fires. We now have a gas fire pit where you can create smores or just enjoy the campfire ambiance.
Price is $175 for the Flying Pig (up to 5 total).
Another option (as an add-on): you can pitch a tent for $45.
"The Flying Pig" has a queen bed, bunk beds twin size, and a loft with a twin mattress, all bedding included.
You are not just paying for a place to sleep; you are paying for an experience and the enjoyment of our property :-).
We serve a continental breakfast (free) or hot breakfast ($35/cabin) between 8-9am.
(we can accommodate vegetarian and dairy free diets; let us know before you come).
We provide bedding and towels. There is A/C and a plug-in heater in The Flying Pig. Please do not bring additional things to plug in except for chargers for phone/electronic devices.
We are approximately 1 1/2 hours south of San Francisco,
30 min south of San Jose (without traffic).
Gilroy Gardens is 15 min away; Harvey Bear County park is 1 mile away; Monterey and Santa Cruz and the Pinnacles National Park are approximately 1 hour away.
We recommend bringing dinner or eating before arrival to maximize your evening.

This is a great place to get away and come camp here in the Santa Cruz Mountains, a perfect location for tent camping or come park your trailer or Motorhome/Bus. We have great hiking in the near area and 5 miles away there is great mountain biking trails. A world renoun mountain bike spot with intermediate to experienced trails for riders of all levels. 5 miles down the road as well is buzzard lagoon and is a great Dirt biking/4-wheeling location. It is a fun spot for all off road inthusiast!
Your camping site is on a flat plateu and is an ideal spot to park your trailer, motorhome or tent camp. With Complete privacy with views of the pacific ocean and South county's Monterey bay with a 180 degree view as well as San jose and Morgan Hill.
For the wine inthusiast, Loma Prieta winery is 5.5 miles away along with Windy Oaks Winery that is 3.7 miles away that is located on the "Wine trail" that has alots of winerys to offer in a beautiful location.
A Day of fun for the family at Gilroy Gardens that is 15.5 miles away.
The beach is 30-40 minutes away with great surfing and body boarding up and down the coastline.
When in route once you get off the paved road from north or south stay on the dirt road for 15-20 more minutes.
The location is very private it is on its own parcel with a gate. If you leave the property please be mindful of staying off of other private properties.

The trip to the site will begin with a three mile drive on a private dirt road. Being on the very top of a mountain brings more seasonality than the surrounding cities. Please be prepared for any kind of extreme weather. Summer: Shade is highly recommended it can get into triple digits. *Spring/fall: Temperatures are generally mild but high winds are possible. *Winter: Typically cold and windy. *During rainy/muddy conditions 4x4/AWD is highly recommended. It is possible for it to get windy, foggy, rainy, hot and sunny, and even sometimes snowy.
Please note: the nearest grocer is 30 minutes from this site. Emergency supplies are available for delivery to your campsite. Cell phone reception is good on most carriers. Pets are allowed. Enjoy your time howling at the moon, star gazing, bird watching/wildlife viewing, or relaxing with your favorite libation.

Since this is our first year renting our land we have found that August is a high wasp season time in the mountains. We are doing everything humanly possible to hunt down each and every Wasp for your enjoyment. With this in mind we ask you use the provided bug repellent, keep the lid to the trash closed, and do not pour grease anywhere you do not want wasps.

This campground just god a major uplift. This used to be called Feel Good Camp and now we dedicate it to the natural green building and clean living. The Grand Opening will be the weekend of the 15th this year.
We made our decision based on our love to create an inspiration for arts and creating beautiful buildings using materials that you can find around you such as pallets, clay, sands, straws, etc. Everything is made out of non toxic materials, we even made our own paint out of cooking flours!
Being inside these cob buildings feels like being in the womb of Mother Earth: the scent, the calm, the grounding, etc. The woods come from one of our properties and we milled them ourselves. We upcycle almost everything: The tree barks, the branches, even the furnitures were secured from non-profit organizations. We'd like you to come to be inspired! One of the buildings is there as a demonstration site till its done and we'll have the cob builder to be there to show you around. Cob working party is held by a master cob builder.
We made your Camping and Glamping experience easy. We provide clean showers, restrooms, toilet paper, paper towels, barbecue, camping stoves, utensils, plates, bowls, mugs, coffee maker, pots and pans, cutleries, etc. Yes, there is hot water as well with no coins needed.
The campground is located in a serene oak grove area of the property. Its a peaceful getaway with an abundance of bird varieties and occasional wild turkeys passing through. Take a stroll around our 5-acre property and catch a breathtaking sunset from the hillside.
The amenities are: Outdoor kitchen, 2 fire pits, outdoor showers and bathrooms, electricity in each cobin, Board games, Yard Games, dog park and an outdoor library for little ones to grown ups. In Winter 2026 we'll add sauna and outdoor tubs for warm winter experience.

Winter lodging....
It can get seasonably cold in the Santa Cruz Mountains during the winter. If visiting in the winter, rest assured we have everything covered to enjoy your stay. We have propane heaters for warmth and comfort. If the power goes out, we have a standby generator that will power up camp provided we are home to turn it on. We have woodstoves in the Owl's Nest and Eagle's Nest. We provide a fire starter log for each woodstove for each night of your stay, and guests are responsible for bringing firewood to keep the woodstoves going.

Weekend Trip to Leafy Lanes Tree House
We loved how the treehouse was nestled into the beautiful redwoods alongside a running creek. It made the experience so tranquil and inviting. Inside was designed so well, it made us feel like we were in some far away land. The smell of the treehouse was my favorite, like fresh wood and palo santo. Melissa was so attentive and provided everything we needed and more. We will definitely be sharing this place with our friends!

Weekend Trip to Sacred Owl Land
Had the absolute best time at Sacred Owl Land. The stay here for the weekend was nothing but peaceful, beautiful, quiet, and a perfect way to reset and recharge completely unplugged with nature. It was exactly what I needed. A beautiful yoga room to stretch, hammocks to relax, hot tub to unwind, a fire pit for s’mores, and of course we can’t forget the amazing view of all the beautiful trees!
This is the place to be if you’re looking for a nice little quiet weekend getaway.

Oh my gosh. If I’m ever driving up to San Fran or Berkeley again, I’m 1000% staying here again. My FAVORITE stay thus far. You have everything you need in this little tree house. Melissa was so sweet. I came to stay by myself with my small dog and I felt completely safe. It truly was the best little get away to disconnect.
I couldn’t stop taking videos because of how cute and well thought out everything was.
(Get familiar with the gotta go portable toilet before you arrive! lol)

The terrain is quite beautiful, but the roads are really not easy, especially the return journey. If you don't have an off-road vehicle or 4x4, I think you might have difficulty. After passing through the locked gate, you have to drive on an off-road path for about 15-20 minutes to reach the campsite. There were 4-5 different points along the way that worried us, but the rest of the journey was normal, flat off-road. The campsite was quiet and clean. There was a table and a fire pit for a campfire. We didn't encounter any wild animals or their tracks.

**Magical stay at the Prancing Pony — highly recommend!**
My husband and I had such a wonderful time at the Prancing Pony. The space had everything you could need — hot showers, a spotless bathroom, fully stocked kitchen, and a cozy bed. Firewood is available on site as an add-on which makes for a convenient campfire evening under the stars. 🔥
The highlight was getting to meet Miguel, who was warm, welcoming, and passionate about what he's building here. He showed us the new Hobbit Hideout spaces currently under construction and they are going to be absolutely stunning — the craftsmanship and creativity are next level. Such a treat to connect with him and see his vision coming to life.
This place is magical for couples, families, and friend groups alike. We'll definitely be back. 🌿✨

Thank you so much to Thaddeus and Mona for your lovely hospitality! This space is not only beautiful but well organized with lots of thoughtful amenities. Me and a friend needed a place to sleep on our journey from Arcata, CA to the Greater LA area. We have never stayed at a Hipcamp before, and we are used to general camping/backpacking with limited resources. This Hipcamp felt like the four seasons for us! Lovely walkways, plenty of native plants with viewing areas, privacy screens, potable filtered water, hot shower and sink water, and an eco-conscious compostable restroom.
One of my favorite parts of my experience however was connecting with the hosts. They are genuine, kind souls who truly care about their guests and giving you the best experience. I highly recommend staying with them if you're in the area if you want to be taking care of!!

Place was nice. Fully isolated. We enjoyed it. The only things we didn’t like were the super bumpy road and the bad morning weather. We suspect the weather is bad there in the morning cause it was super nice all around though.
If you don’t mind driving 15 min uphill in a bumpy road and re looking for isolation, this is your place.

It was absolutely breathtaking. We took a little walk around the campsite during our free time and discovered this spot — it’s honestly incredible. If just a few of the trees in front were trimmed down a bit, you’d have a direct view of the stunning sunrise over the sea of clouds. The scenery is truly unbeatable! If I could upload photos here, I would absolutely show everyone just how beautiful this place really is!

Loved staying at Matt’s site. Easy parking and unloading. Lovely site, super clean, flat spot for tent, great propane pit, composting toilet was great, soooo many birds. Definitely a birders paradise.
10/10 location. Super easy access to Capitola and SC. Best I’ve been on Hipcamp. Thanks Matt!

We had a wonderful stay here! Miguel greeted us right as we parked and gave us the grand tour. This place is extremely well maintained with amazing amenities. They're working on expanding the grounds and we can't wait to come back. Highly recommended for those who want to be pampered somewhat during their outdoor adventures.

Weekend Trip to Sacred Owl Land
A beautiful camping retreat tucked away among the redwoods, far from the noise and stress of daily life. It really felt like a little slice of nirvana. The hosts were warm and welcoming and made us feel instantly at home.
The setup was simple but thoughtfully done. The heated outdoor shower worked well, and the composting toilet was perfectly clean and odor-free. A campfire was already set up for us, so all we had to do was light it, and the candles and solar lanterns around the campsite made the evening feel especially magical.
I missed the note that guests should bring their own pillows, sleeping bags, and water, but the hosts graciously helped us out, which we really appreciated. I also joined the onsite morning yoga class, and it was fantastic.
We had a wonderful stay and will definitely be back soon!

We had the most delightful time over a long holiday weekend at Yeyens and Farbads place. They went above and beyond to make everybody at the site feel welcome and cared for and the site itself was just absolutely whimsical and beautiful. Great food, great amenities, wonderful people to connect with, and an absolutely beautiful setting. What else can you ask for? We would go back in a heartbeat.
