We are open for the 2026 Camping Season. All campsites include a fire ring and picnic table. Potable water is available in a central location (guests must supply their own containers) and flushing toilets and heated showers are available at our main bathhouse. Please prepare for a camping in nature experience which includes bugs, pests, rustic restrooms, heated showers, gorgeous, minimally managed watersheds and the most beautiful starry skies! At River Ranch Campgrounds, Tuolumne, CA we offer a range of activities to make your stay enjoyable. Take a hike on one of the many trails winding through the Stanislaus National Forest at the base of the Sierra Nevada mountains, or cast a line in the North Fork of the Tuolumne River or Basin Creek for some great native fishing. After a long day of exploration, come back to the campgrounds and relax by the firepit or enjoy a picnic in one of our many picnic areas. Activities in the campground include horseshoes, sand volleyball, sandbox for the kiddos and frisbee golf for all. We pride ourselves on blending nature and family camping in a safe, serene environment.
Important notes:
We are off-grid. There is no electricity in the campground with exception of a small solar powered system to operate our entry gate, guest Wi-Fi and intercom. Outlets are not available for guest use.
Our campground is home to wildlife. You can minimize unwanted encounters by properly storing food and garbage.
We have one central bathhouse with 3 flushing toilets. Sites vary in distance from a short walk to a short drive. The bathhouse has 4 shower stalls in the rear of the building. The bathhouse is closed from 10pm to 8am. The bathhouse does not have electricity or interior lighting.
Our Hacienda section ("H" Sites) has vault toilets. Portables are located throughout the campground for your convenience.
There is minimal privacy from other campers due to the placement of the sites and the way our trees and vegetation is trimmed for fire resistance.
All guests and vehicles must be registered upon arrival.

The Lost Dutchman Italian Bar Camp is a 160 acres of Priviately Owned Patented Mining land and our priviate campground located in the Stanislaus National Forest and on the South Fork of the Stanislaus River, which runs through the camp.
Camping is available on both side of the river making the Italian Bar camp a destination for campers since we rebuilt the camp from the ground up in the late 1970’s.
Whether you want to relax in your campsite listening to the river, dip your toes in the cool waters or try your hand at panning for gold, I-Bar offers all of this and more. Little History:
The property was discovered and first settled around 1849 as a gold rush mining camp. At one time over 3,000 people lived here and mined for gold. When the gold rush came to an end so did Italian Bar. Until over a hundred years later, In 1976 when our founder fell in love with this remote property and purchased the land and we began rebuilding the I-Bar camp from the ground up and opened it to our members. It didn't hurt that somewhere close by Our founder found a 800oz pocket of gold. Even today, Prospecting for gold is encouraged!
If you want to try your hand at “Gettin on some of the shiny” let the Caretakers know! We have a few gold pans we loan out that are just waiting for some color to make you smile.
Of course we have pans for sale.
If you’re an avid outdoors person, carrying a gold pan with you just makes sense.

A great place to stay just outside of the park. Be near the park, but feel that complete privacy. These sites are very spaced out from each other and are large. No need to cram together! We have 824 acres on a beautiful cattle ranch with two small ponds. On our property, you'll find frogs, turtles, oak trees, pine trees and stunning views of Yosemite.
We have several campsites to choose from including RV camping, tent camping, and a glamping tent. Pets are welcome. Campfires are permitted as long as there is no fire ban. Potable water and toilet are available onsite.
There's a golf course less than a mile away. We are also very close to town. In just a few minutes, you can drive to our local grocery store and pizza parlour.
We are a 10-minute drive to Pine Mountain Lake. Beautiful Pine Mountain Lake offers golfing, dining, horseback riding, water sports and an airport.
When you come to the ranch it feels like you are hundreds of miles away from civilization, but still close to everything you need. It is incredibly peaceful!

The ranch is comprised of the camping lawns, camping facilities, several homes on the property (two Air BnB and the owner's home) and the motorcycle workshop. Car and RV campers are welcomed and there is plenty of car/RV parking on the asphalt lot outside the fence at the East Side of the property near the mailboxes at the intersection of Rte 4 and Brice Station Road. Our grassy lawn tent area is inaccessible to vehicles and RVs. Our parking area is adjacent to the highway and may not be what rooftop and van/rv campers are expecting in terms of a peaceful camping experience. If you have tent, it’s recommended to camp out on the lawn. We have tents for rent if you need one.

We are 10 minutes from the small town of Groveland with a market and restaurants and just down the road from the put in for rafting on the Tuolumne river.
Our pricing is a little higher than other places nearby and this is due to the property's great locations, incredible beauty, and all of the amenities added for a great experience.

Historic Brice Station 100 acres, was a horse stop on the Ebbetts Pass stage line. Horses were fed, watered and swapped here, over 100 years ago. Today, Brice station hosts a ceramics gallery and school, vineyard and tasting room, Blacksmith school, Concert series, Shakespeare performances and Master artist, Michel Olson's, Sierra Circles Sculpture Garden and campground. Born in Berlin, Germany, he has spent much of his life performing, guiding, studying, while travelling and becoming an accomplished artist in wood, stone and iron. Really nice spot, the amenities were acceptable, showers were very hot, toilets were a little full when we arrived but they get serviced every seven days by the looks so they were serviced on the second day we stayed. There is a lovely little diner/cafe on the corner of the road heading to the farmhouse that I highly recommend - the food was sensational. Good spot for visiting Yosemite, it was about 1.5 hours to the Big Oak Flat entrance. Overall was a well maintained spot that was quiet and felt safe.

The bus was so much fun! Our kids really enjoyed the swing set, animals, and the hosts kids. Ben let us use his outdoor kitchen, fully stocked so we didn’t have to bring our own gear (had pots, pans, plates, a bbq grill and cook stove, some room in the fridge too). The bus had a mini fridge, linens for bed, and towels for the outdoor shower, which was very easy to use. Bus was super cute, Heather has an eye for decor and her hand painted signs everywhere were so cute! Camp had pit toilets. Indian Creek is nearby, a little spot enjoyed by locals on hot days.
In Murphys the farmers market abuts a creek also enjoyed by locals. The Farmers Market on Sunday was lovely, had some very niche and upscale goods plus farmed produce.
Camp was close to Big Trees, Mercer Caves, Murphys and close enough to Columbia that its well within reach. The road is rough and winding in parts but the hosts and experience make it worth your while.

This property was absolutely stunning and the perfect place to stay for anyone wanting to be close to Yosemite. There was plenty of space to relax, the night skies were incredible, and we loved spending our evenings around the fire under the stars.
Jarrett was an exceptional host - responsive, welcoming, and always available whenever we needed assistance. The entire experience exceeded our expectations.
I would gladly stay here again and highly recommend it to friends and family. The location, accommodations, and hospitality made for a truly unforgettable stay.

Perfect location in a beautiful setting just outside of Yosemite. Minimal mosquitoes at the time we were there. Shower and bathroom facilities were clean and stocked. I am a big fan of that hot out door shower!

This was such a sweet camp! Rob is a fabulous host, he came and checked on the site in the evening.
The camp kitchen is super nice - it’s great to have a place with water and a surface to prepare food! The barn is also lovely - there’s comfy seating, board games and cards.
The bathroom situation is also great - including the showers which are lovely and warm!
Would definitely stay here again - it’s a convenient location for getting into Yosemite and the accommodations are very comfortable :)

We loved this stay! The RV spot was beautiful. During our short stay we saw a jack rabbit run across the open field in front of our spot and enjoyed beautiful sunsets and stargazing. Robb is not only an incredibly awesome person whose photos we saw all over Yosemite but a great host who gave us wonderful recommendations. The bathrooms and outdoor showers were so clean and beautiful and the barn was perfect. I plan to come back and host some retreats here and highly recommend for a quiet stay outside of Yosemite. Thank you for sharing and preserving land 🙌

I loved tent camping here. I was able to get a great spot next to the river that allowed me to have the best night sleep. The camp grounds were clean and welcoming. The Yosemite National Park entrance was only 1.5 hours away making it easy to spend the day in the park and come back to the tranquility of the campground.

This was a perfect campsite for visiting Yosemite. Before we even arrived, the host’s communication was great and directions to get there were clear. Our site was roomy and comfortable, the bathrooms were easily accessible, and the hot showers were very appreciated after a day in the park. Very easy access to the park as well! We’d stay here again!

Fabulous spot! close to the river, flat sites, , full of things for kids to do! We saw lots of little animals! The bathrooms were clean and neat. The property is very well taken care of. Emily is very warm and friendly and a great asset to the Lost Dutchman mining camp.. We will definitely return;)
We would not drive our NEW 30 foot class A Motorhome there again. The road is very narrow, the bushes hang down and into the road and it scratched our new Motorhome. That was the only downside of this week long trip..
Narrower and not so tall vehicles should do much better. It is such a secluded, beautiful spot.!!

Wow! If you’re looking for the feeling of seclusion while still having access to all the resources and luxuries you could want, THIS IS IT! The drive from our site to Tunnel View was roughly 45 minutes and absolutely breathtaking along the way! We were able to meet Robb, the property owner, and he was so genuinely kind and gave great recommendations! We stayed two nights in one of the tent sites and it was perfect. It was SO quiet at night and the amount of stars blew our kids’ minds! The bathrooms and outdoor showers were VERY well kept and clean. The communal area is such a great addition and so charming! This place is a true hidden gem and has something for literally everyone! Don’t even second guess, just book it! You’ll be so glad you did!

Bluebird campsite was amazing!! There was lots of shade to keep out of the heat and close proximity to the barn which had the bathrooms, showers, and outlets available. The bathrooms were sparkling clean and the showers were refreshingly warm with fantastic water pressure. The wifi offered from the barn was fast and very convenient when planning our day in Yosemite for we were able to look at trails and spots online. Robb was very knowledgeable about the area and so hospitable! I would 100000% recommend Red Tail Ranch especially the Bluebird spot and we will definitely be back!

Really pretty property and the signage was great and easy to follow! The hot shower was a wonderful treat after a day of hiking and the ports potties were super clean and had just been serviced. Also having free fire wood and a fire ring was so so wonderful! Our neighbors were loud even past quiet hours which was unfortunate but no fault of the camp. Lots of options for sites to choose, not a ton of super flat spots so you did have to be somewhat particular when finding your spot, we ended up having a great time.

I am a solo traveler who stayed here for three nights while exploring Yosemite. I would strongly recommend this spot to anyone! I am wildly impressed by the cleanliness and upkeep of this property along with the amenities (bathrooms, outdoor showers, dish washing sink with sponges and soap provided). The string lights/ bird songs/ crickets and the sounds of the stream in the back were exactly what I look for in a camping trip. Truly a wonderful stay. Additionally, this property has amazing attentive hosts! I hope to see Yosemite again and if I do I will certainly be staying here. Very close to a nearby town with markets, food, and gas stations. One last note, I loved the chickens on property! They would always come by to say hello when I arrived back to my site for the evening. 11/10 this place is a gem.

I loved tent camping! Was able to park my car right next to our campsite which helped a lot during loading and unloading. The stars were so pretty during the night, I was able to see everything so clearly. Definitely would stay here again!

Second time staying at the yurt and my kids loved it again! It’s a friendly atmosphere. I could stay at a hotel to get away but we wouldn’t be able to play in the dirt and the swimming hole and just be in nature together.

2 nights at Wondernut Farm
Super fun being able to hang at the farm and just relax on hammock during the hot afternoon. An easy 60 minute drive to Yosemite. Would definitely return!
