Do be advised that animals are pooping, hammers are hammering, sometimes we need to look into a health or animal injury related issue. Sometimes there is blood in an animal birth or slaughter, and our working guardian dogs have been known to be noisy some nights. Water and electricity are both very limited (though we reuse all our water), waste must be carefully sorted into a number of different categories, and there is always evidence of ump-teen projects unfolding at once. The most difficult condition during much of the summer are nuisance flies, which are always gone at night. We have almost no mosquitoes or ticks. Depending on the exact situation and time of year, guests may have the opportunities to snuggle with baby animals and run our herd to or from pasture, and maybe even get their hands dirty picking veggies in the garden.

Weekend Trip to The Painted Lake

I booked the lake view cabin to celebrate my wife’s birthday, and it turned out to be an unforgettable experience. The cabin itself was super cute, cozy, and had large windows perfect for stargazing at night. The view from the cabin was absolutely epic — both sunrise and sunset were breathtaking, and the lake was stunningly beautiful. The property has a lovely rustic charm with friendly animals like dogs, hens, sheep, goats, lambs, and a horse. There’s even a kayak available if you want to explore the lake, which we really enjoyed. Jeremy was an amazing host — friendly, responsive, and went above and beyond by arranging a beautiful bouquet for my wife at my request. He patiently answered all my questions since it was my first glamping experience, which made everything smooth and enjoyable. One small note for first-time campers: the portable toilet is a bit away from the cabin and doesn’t have a traditional flush, so it might be an adjustment at first. Overall, we had an incredible stay and would definitely love to come back again — next time with our friends! ⭐ Rating: 5/5 — Highly recommended!

3 nights at Yosemite Westlake Camp

Mac’s cabin was a comfortable and beautiful experience. We enjoyed each moment that he came by and spoke with us. He took the time to check in on us with friendly laughter. The restrooms and showers were very conveniently located. The amenities like the microwave and heater were very handy. At the end of our trip, Mac was very friendly enough to leave us with hand picked tomatoes and a watermelon from his garden. Not to mention that I made an oversight on our trip dates and Mac was more than accommodating to push up our stay and adjust the dates. He’s very helpful and his campground is top notch across the board. Highly recommend would come again.

We very much enjoyed our stay in the Long the Way cabin. Wifi /service was a downfall but..camping. They out a lot of effort into the little ammenities in our cabin down to bandaids and cleaning supplies and coffee and snacks and bottled water. They were accommodating when we asked for anything. Jeremy was easy going and we had the whole property to our self’s , the dogs there are so friendly . Was able to just relax and enjoy the peace and quiet. Thanks again Jeremy and puppies was great time.

My family and i we enjoy the view, the 3 dogs that were around us, the fresh eggs, was a fantastic weekend, i love to cook outdoors, everything was perfect, we love animals, the horses are so sweet,, I really recommend this place. Jeremy was a very good host, thank you very much.

The most cozy farm and space, absolutely amazing views with even more amazing people. This space really allows you to take a moment and enjoy the most beautiful things in life. Many great memories formed in such a short stay. I cannot wait to come back!

Weekend Trip to The Painted Lake

We had an amazing time at Jeremy's place! Jeremy was so kind and hospitable. He had great recommendations for food and places to go. The kids loved being able to gather chicken eggs each morning to eat. His dogs Juno, Luna, and Willow were the sweetest. We loved being able to hang out with the horses and the goats as well. It was an experience of a lifetime to be able to wake up and see the sunrise and the lake. We loved being able to go down to the lake to fish and ride the kayaks as well.

Weekend Trip to Wondernut Farm

My boyfriend and I stayed at the Wilderness Bridge for two nights and had a wonderful experience. The farm is peaceful and beautifully maintained, offering a relaxing environment throughout our stay. Matt and the people living on the farm were warm and welcoming, and their hospitality made us feel at home. We especially enjoyed the friendly dogs on the property and the stunning views that surrounded us. The Wilderness Bridge itself is about a 10-minute hike, and the view at the top is truly remarkable and well worth the effort. Overall, this was a memorable stay, and we highly recommend it to anyone seeking a quiet and scenic retreat.

Weekend Trip to Wondernut Farm

Wondernut farm is clearly a labor of love, which shows in the cute and comfortable guest cabin and thoughtfully designed common space. We enjoyed our night in the cabin, especially the outdoor shower shed after our Yosemite adventure. Matt was very welcoming and kind, and we enjoyed chatting with him and other guests. We would absolutely return!

The view from the treehouse is even better than the photos. I loved having the lambs and pups right outside, as well as the horses just down the hill! Would definitely come again.

1 night at Camp Electra in Mokelumne Hill

We loved our stay on Ryan’s land in his VW Vanagon under the cedars and pines. Loved the simplicity of the set up, along with the great outdoor shower/toilet he designed. Ryan was a great host, we loved chatting with him about our love for Volkswagens. If we don’t have our bus going next trip, we’d definitely love to be back!

3 nights at The Painted Lake

Jeremy is an amazing host and the tree house was the perfect stay for us. It’s centrally located to beautiful forests and trails and the town of Murphy (with a wonderful park and creek for kids to play). The bathrooms were so clean, having a mini fridge was great, and evenings on the porch were idyllic. Jeremy was quick to respond, gave great restaurant recommendations, and was understanding when we had to leave a day early due to an emergency. We will definitely be back again!
