My husband and I (and our dog!) celebrated our 30th anniversary at the Cozy Cabin. Lynda and Rich have created an adorable creekside oasis! From hanging out on the comfortable porch to walking our dog around the creek, in the woods and to the skatepark to our nightly activity of watching the bats swooping over the creek with a warm fire. The cabin has everything you need and the bed is very comfortable. We highly recommend The Cozy Cabin and we'll be back!

Weekend Trip to Wackalulu's Wonderland

We booked this place for a long weekend getaway and the experience was beyond our expectations! Lynda and Rich put their hearts and souls into creating this beautiful paradise! We loved everything: the boathouse decorations, sitting by the fire pit and enjoying the tranquility of the surroundings. Looking forward to coming back! Till next time :)

The art studio was an incredibly unique and enjoyable experience. At first glance at the listing and the communications it might feel like there’s a lot of instructions. But once you are in the space it all makes sense, and you want to protect and respect the beauty Bill has created. There were so many sweet, and special touches. Fresh cut flowers, coffee and treats in the morning. While the room you sleep is cold and uninsulated, the bed is one of the most comfortable ones I’ve slept in away from home with a heated mattress and the most luxurious linen sheets. We loved the hot tub, the grounds and all the unique decor and structures. You will not regret booking your stay.

Weekend Trip to A California Dream: Camp Hoppy

Great spot! Loved getting into the river and hanging around the property. Some good platforms for sleeping on. One note; the yurt by the river has seen better days and we opted not to sleep in it. Otherwise, a beautiful and tranquil spot in a perfect location.

Weekend Trip to EL EL Cool Ranch

Great stay, well off the beaten path. Eli is a warm and gracious host. We loved the peace and quiet of the dome and still having the creature comforts of home. It was also fun to go forage in the garden, hang out with the chickens, and see the wild ponies on the drive in. A truly dog friendly place- Lulu is a very friendly girl and will love to play with your pup.

We loved the location, away from it all, and the house had everything you will need. Hallelujah was very responsive to showing us around. Loved the artwork in the house and in the art studio, even purchased some to bring home!

1 night at Swallowtail Historic Art Studio

The Indonesian wood cabin was adorable and in amazing shape as a true antique building. It was a step back in time where people lived more simply. The bed was very comfortable. The hot tub was relaxing and clean with a scenic view off the deck. The artistic touches throughout were beautiful and interesting to look at. The host Bill was very sweet and accommodating. I would love to see what the other structures on the property are like inside. Very unique and salt of the earth experience. Close to town but rural enough to hear the owls and coyotes at night.

Sue was a very accommodating host- we booked last minute & she made us feel welcome. The deck was a dream with a gorgeous view of the trees & creek & TWO hammocks! We slept peacefully in the comfy bed to the lull of cute frog sounds. Great proximity to coffee, food, swimming spots & beaches. A nice crash pad when you want to dip in the river & try one of the many good restaurants. We weren’t sure about the outhouse on the listing but it was immaculate. This little cabin might not have all the facilities & appliances, but for a short trip who cares? For a spontaneous overnight we didn’t need to cook or shower- just wanted to get out of the city, take in some nature, read in a hammock- mission accomplished! Only issue was chainsaw noise coming from the next property, which sort of broke the otherwise chill vibe. Sue assured us it was out of the ordinary & did her best to make it up to us by kindly offering a discount on our next stay. Looking forward to a do-over, which I’m sure will result in 100% relaxation. Adding Sue’s spot to our list of Russian River haunts!

2 nights at Creek View Tree House

The little home was beautiful and perfect for our little getaway. The deck was so lovely - hammocks, fire pit, overlooking a creek. We even had enough room to pitch a tent since we wanted to sleep under the stars for one of the nights.

2 nights at Sugarloaf Ridge State Park Glamping

We had an amazing time. The weather was perfect. We stayed at bird Camp glamping site. It was a little chilly so our propane heater came in very handy. Loved going on the hikes and we had an amazing amount of birds that visited our campsite every day. Plenty of room on this site to pop up another tent or two. We may bring the family back. Or not this was such an amazing peaceful getaway.

Weekend Trip to Wackalulu's Wonderland

We had a wonderful weekend staying at the Boathouse at Wackalulu’s Wonderland! We spent our first afternoon/evening at the campfire on the creek. Then spent the next day exploring the river, wineries, and restaurants. It was the best of all worlds. We will definitely be back. Thanks Lynda and Rich for creating such a lovely space!

Wackalulu's Wonderland felt like a luxurious retreat. The cabin felt private, but was close enough to shared spaces to enjoy those amenities as well. The kitchen had everything we needed to grill up some lovely meals and the mini fridge was a generous size. Very comfy bed, incredible shower, and we absolutely loved using the hot tub! The creek side seating area was amazing for bird watching in the day and bat watching at night. The property is covered in whimsical touches that create a retreat that is brimming with heart and joy.

We love this place and come back every year. It's beautiful, peaceful and private, with a creek running behind the cabin and the woods all around. There are lots of water related activities nearby because of the river and Armstrong Park with the redwoods is also quite close. A gem for sure!

A place to have a restorative retreat. Tall trees, many birds singing, and a creek. We had everything we needed in our cabin to just stay put or go out on day adventures, depending on our moods. The furniture was super comfy; we had oodles of areas to sit and ponder life. We had everything we needed including a hot tub, a kitchen area, 4-piece bath, a porch, a living area. Everything was clean and organized. The hosts were a treat and we are going back.

Located within 45 minutes of the wine country and 2 miles from the coast, our property is 400 acres of rolling hills and redwood groves, with a creek running along its base. With miles of trails meandering through quiet woods and meadows, you will be able to revel in the tranquility of a private preserve, without sacrificing easy access to some of Sonoma County's most famous attractions. A hundred years ago, this land was used to graze sheep. Remnants of the old fence lines can still be seen in places, along with old cement troughs. Since then, the land has been left to its own devices, passing through many hands, most famously owned by two brothers in the 1980's who built a truly amazing tree house in the forest which has been featured in several magazine articles. It was revamped and updated in 2016 by a master craftsman, using fallen redwood logs found on the property and is now a unique structural work of art, available for overnight stays. We produce 100% grass fed, dry-aged beef on our certified organic pastures and have a store on site if you would like to purchase delicious steaks, ribs, ground beef for hamburgers or some roasts to take home. Our cattle graze on the native grasses, never grain, and drink only water produced from our own springs. We also raise Kiko meat goats and produce pastured, certified organic duck eggs on a commercial basis. Whether it's surfing at sandy beaches, award-winning clam chowder, a wine tour, horseback riding or a hot air balloon ride you're after, you won't have far to drive if you make our ranch your base camp. You may see a family of deer appear suddenly, or a few Scottish Highland cows which we allow to roam freely over the property. There are over twenty species of wild birds that grace this protected spot, so bring your binoculars! A portion of your fee goes towards protecting native flora and fauna as part of our private wildlife preservation program. The forest is on the natural frontier between coastal rainforest and inland forest. You will see redwood fairy rings and fallen redwoods indicating that rainforest covered the property centuries ago. The biggest rainforest foothold is a grove of old-growth Douglas Firs in the northwest corner of the forest. Sugarloaf Ridge State Park Glamping

We have four lovely Glamping sites at Sugarloaf Ridge State Park and 25 miles of hiking trails, nestled in the glorious chaparral of the Mayacama Mountain Range and Sonoma Hills, deep in the heart of wine country. The cost is $150 per night on weekends (Fri and Sat) and $125 per night on weekdays (Sun-Thurs). There is a 2-night minimum stay required between Memorial Day and Labor Day. In our family-friendly campground, our tents are 16-Foot Canvas and come with one queen-size bed, two futon lounge chairs (May be converted to twin beds), rugs, tables, lighting, and complementary firewood the first night. At no additional cost, we can add up to two twin beds to each tent upon request to sleep up to 6 people. 8 people max allowed at the campsite. The glamping sites include a picnic table, fire ring, outdoor seating, and room for additional tents if desired. All sites are easy walking distance to flush toilets and a bathhouse, with large, clean, coin operated hot shower rooms. There is no cell service in the park, but free WiFi is available at the Visitor Center. PLEASE NOTE that Bedding (sheets, pillows, blankets) IS NOT included in a standard rental, but is available as an add-on. Guests are encouraged to bring their own bedding whenever possible. If no bedding is added, we will assume a one-queen setup with mattress covers only. We kindly ask guests to provide at least 48-hour notice if bedding will be required. We will always try to accommodate last-minute requests, but we cannot guarantee this. PETS and SMOKING ARE NOT ALLOWED INSIDE our glamping tents! This is strictly enforced, and you WILL be charged a $150 cleaning fee for any violation of this policy. Parking: Your reservation includes parking for one vehicle. There is an additional $10 per night per vehicle charge for more than one vehicle, which you can pay for at the Visitor's Center upon check-in. The Russian River/ Monte Rio public beach is a short walk past the Parks and Recreation Center, and they rent Kayaks and Canoes during the summer months. The Redwood Alliance camp is just a few miles up Bohemian Hwy if you dare to zip line through the redwood canopy forest or Armstrong woods in Guerneville for those that would rather keep their feet on the ground and take a hike to enjoy the majestic beauties. Duncan's Mill is a quaint town (less than 3 miles from us) on your way to Jenner by the Sea which is just about 9 miles to the west of us. You can take a gorgeous coastal drive to Bodega that is only 15 miles away. Historic Fort Ross is another beautiful 20 mile coastal drive. Bike Enthusiast love the back roads out here and the Biggest Attraction Is… Wait for it…. Wineries are everywhere! During the summer there are several Music Venues close by too. The Rio Nido Roadhouse has outdoor music on the weekends. Rockin the River is every other Thursday in Guerneville. The Monte Rio Variety Show just celebrated it 111th year to a sold-out crowd. Zac Brown, Steve Miller, Jimmy Buffet, James Taylor are just a few Headliners that have been here in the past.We have a great Lightwave coffee shop across the creek that is a quick 5 minute walk. There are several restaurants along the river as well as a small grocery store, movie theater, and a Homemade Ice Cream Parlor that are all close enough to walk to or drive.
