Cold water

Cobb Mtn Cabin Retreat w/ Hot Tub

The house was nice but not having hot water during cold weather put a damper on our trip. When we would try to turn on the hot water on the shower, it would be cold, with no water pressure coming from the shower head and water leaking fron the side of the faucet. It limited our access to the hot tub and made us feel taken advantage of. The host was attentive but did not provide clear instructions on how to turn on the water heater until the end of our trip. Based on other reviews this appears to be a consistent issue that the host was aware of and had tactfully drawn out to make it appear it was our fault for not being in constant correspondance with the owner while we were away from the house. After having the owner reach out to me before the trip, outside of the app, asking for additional money for pets that we did not have, this experience made me feel exploited and unclean. I do not think I will use Hipcamp in the future if Hosts are not held accountable.

Cobb Mtn Cabin Retreat w/ Hot Tub

Brett’s place is lovely, it’s a very nice home in a beautiful spot. We had a great time exploring the area. We appreciate that it was dog friendly. We were able to hang out at Clear Lake and there are many wineries in the area along with cute breakfast spots and shops. Going home at the end of our day to hang in the hot tub was the best. Brett is super nice, I ended up accidentally leaving my drivers license there and he was able to help me get in touch with the house cleaner Maria who sent it in the mail. I really appreciated them. Definitely recommend.

Cobb Mtn Cabin Retreat w/ Hot Tub

Wow - what a wonderful spot! We were greeted with a very clean, open and refreshing house. It is impressive how mindfully designed and well-appointed it is, with pleasant textures, textiles, colors and artful touches throughout, as well as numerous large windows to let the outside in. The comfortable seating areas are perfectly placed to enjoy the beautiful, woodsy setting both indoors and out. The hot tub area is great too - perfectly designed for privacy & relaxation. The house was well-stocked with items that are often not provided at house rentals, such as Kleenex, a variety of cooking spices, every kitchen tool I needed (and we cooked every meal at the house during our 3-night stay), Tupperware perfect for picnics, coffee supplies, etc. Well done! It's one of those places you want to tell everyone about, but you also don't because you want it to be available for your next getaway!

Great place for a few days of relaxation get away. The house was clean and nice. The neighbors were friendly and the local shop 3 min walk away was a good place to get snacks and drinks.

Cobb Mtn Cabin Retreat w/ Hot Tub

The house itself is super cute and has wonderful views of the trees. However, we ran into a number of issues during our short two-day stay that would lead me to not stay there again. The plumbing seems to be an issue, both with the shower backing up and the toilet/sink making strange bubbling noises. The hot water in the shower also seemed to last max 5 minutes. We also had an issue with the front entry lock that even a call to the owner (who was very responsive and great to work with) could not be resolved. It was missing a couple key things - for example, there was no hand soap in the kitchen or bathroom. They appeared to have put Dawn dish soap in the bathroom's hand soap dispenser - no wonder my hands were dry all weekend! They also put a Magic Eraser by the kitchen sink instead of a proper sponge, so I had to do the dishes with one of the two kitchen towels we had. The heater was very confusing to work and there were no instructions. I literally had to youtube it to figure out how to turn it on. One additional watchout not in their control is that there are many dogs in the area and they all barked nonstop for about 3 hours in the morning. While the home looks like it's in a secluded spot, it's actually in an area with a bunch of other nearby houses. Finally, we experienced a 2-hour power outage, which impacted a few homes on the street. Not sure if this is a frequent thing or not, but we certainly weren't expecting it! Again, very cute place but wouldn't go back.
