The quaint town of Point Arena is 12 miles north, with a supermarket, Frannie's Cup And Saucer, The Bird Cafe, a beautiful historic lighthouse, a theater, a pier, a mini-safari park (B Bryan Preserve with zebras, giraffes and more. Tours need to be booked in advance). Also visit Roots, a natural pharmacy for herbs, teas and supplements. There are also spots like Occidental, Bodega Bay, Jenner (with the Russian River to kayak and swim) and Timber Cove, all on the way to Gualala from the south. The golden bowl was perfect for my partner and I. Due to daylight savings time, we never met the host, but they were super accommodating and lovely to message with. Kind size bed was comfy. Blankets were super warm, so no heater was needed (there is not electricity). This spot is closer to camping with luxuring than glamping with all the extras. We didn't use the outdoor kitchen area but imagine it is super useful. My rav4 had no problem getting down the hill to our tent. This tent seems much more secluded than the other two on this property, so that's good to know for other potential people staying! We so sorry appreciate an affordable place to sleep, as everyone does not have $$$ that is trying to travel. Location was great to get to willits, the coast, and we stopped at orr hot springs on our way there - all within a reasonable distance for folks like us who are used to driving to get anywhere! I didn't bring my dog but always appreciate pet friendly spots :) I would come back!

Elderberry Camp was a nice and secluded stay. We essentially had the entire place to ourselves. Elderberry camp is the furthest away from the other 2 sites on that side of the property, but also note that it is the closest to the road. There isn’t enough traffic for it to be a problem in my opinion but if you are a light sleeper, it may affect you. Unfortunately, the creek was also dry during our stay. However, the foggy nights brought in nice moisture/frost that burned off by 11am. Another plus was the clean outhouse. Thanks, Stephen!

Staying at Golden Bowl is a lovely way to get out of the city and disconnecting from electricity for a weekend. You can see the stars without all the light pollution it was beautiful. Had a lovely romantic night by the campfire. And our favorite part is spending time in the kitchen area making meals and enjoying the fire! Kristina was great being there when we arrived to show us around. She even helped getting wood for the fireplace. The tent was decorated lovely and really felt outdoorsy.

Wonderful place to camp in Willits. Kristina was very friendly and greeted me with a vase of flowers :) Golden Bowl site was private and well away from the other 2 sites, which were close together near the road. The tent was amazing, clean and felt very welcoming the moment I entered. I loved the star lights above the bed. There was the newly built deck nearby with a kitchen set up, with provided dishes, soap, sponges as well as a propane barbecue and camp stove. A great place to dance beneath the stars with your loved one. The compost bathroom was a bit of a challenge for someone like me with a bad knee. But loved the idea of a potty tree. ( Be sure to bring your own TP) The late afternoon sun did light up the hillside beautifully in a golden aura and the night sky was wondrous. I would stay here again and am happy with my stay and the memories of days well spent. Thank you Kristina :)

Stephen was a good host, and we appreciated his hospitality during our Labor Day weekend stay. The property was comfortable, and he was very responsive whenever we reached out. There was a large group staying nearby with three small dogs that barked throughout the day, which made it a little less peaceful than we had hoped. However, Stephen promptly addressed the situation on our behalf, which was appreciated but did little to quiet the dogs unfortunately. He also provided firewood and helpful directions to the nearby river, which—even with the lower summer water levels—was a nice spot to enjoy.

We had a fantastic time at Andrea's place! It was a hot day, but the surrounding trees provided plenty of shade, keeping things cool and comfortable. We loved watching the stars at night and catching the sunrise in the morning. The absolute highlight was the relaxing hot soaking tub—it was perfect! Just a heads-up, as other guests have mentioned, there are mosquitos, so be sure to bring bug spray. Also, make sure you follow the directions Andrea provides; they are clear but essential for not getting lost. We highly recommend a four-wheel-drive vehicle for the trip.
