The price of camping includes the Ranch experiences of feeding the animals and collecting eggs. Our property is great for children! We have a trampoline, a tree house, a large livestock water trough that we use as a kiddie pool in summer, a great swing set, and room to play.
We live on a quiet 10 acre property with trees that provide some shade, and all of our sites are near the horse pastures. You might hear horses nickering and chickens clucking. There is lots of room to walk or run around. A Treehouse is available for kids to play in, a trampoline to jump on, plus we have a 17 foot high swing for kids and adults alike! You can walk the property to observe the horses, or sign up for a special horse, tractor, or welding experience.
Come camp in a very quiet and safe horse and farming area. We are near the end of a dead-end road. Our camping sites are somewhat private, some with more shade and others with more mid-day sun.
We specialize in "Horse Experiences" tailored to your level of comfort and needs. None of the horse experiences listed on our site require any prior experience with horses. We will make sure you are safe and comfortable while working with the horses.
*NOTE: Experiences are not available on Sundays (our sabbath day). We can fit them in on Saturday afternoon/evening for Saturday-night campers, or Monday morning for Sunday-night campers.
We have a private bathroom with flush toilet and sink.
Summertime brings hot days and (usually) cool nights to our area. It is not uncommon to experience 100 degree days in June, July and August. Most evenings cool down, thanks to the Delta Breeze, to around 60-70 degrees overnight. Wintertime brings cooler daytime temps (50-60 degrees) and colder night temps (30-40 degrees).
We are located about 10 minutes from the Galt area, which has a large variety of Fast-food, as well as several nicer restaurants. There is also a Wal-Mart (with groceries) and a nice Supermarket. We are about 6 miles from 2 country stores in Herald and Wilton (with gas station).
Sites accommodate up to 6 people, and you can add up to 2 more for an additional fee. If you need more than 8 people, then consider booking 2 or more sites.
With horses and the activities we do with them, dogs are not allowed.

Located at the base of the Sierra foothills, the lake and recreation area offers opportunities for hiking, biking, running, camping, picnicking, horseback riding, water-skiing and boating. Fishing offers trout, catfish, big and small mouth bass or perch. Visitors can also see the Folsom Powerhouse (once called "the greatest operative electrical plant on the American continent"), which from 1885 to 1952 produced 11,000 volts of electricity for Sacramento residents.
For cyclists, there is a 32-mile long bicycle path at Beals Point that connects Folsom Lake with many Sacramento County parks before reaching Old Sacramento. The park also includes Lake Natoma, downstream from Folsom Lake, which is popular for crew races, sailing, kayaking and other aquatic sports.
At both locations, you will stay in 16ft deluxe tents. Each tent has 2 full beds in them.
At Beals Point we offer "Luxury" Glamping with real furniture, cozy bedding, and all the amenities you need for a relaxing and fun filled stay for up to 8 people (AT BEALS POINT ONLY!).
At both Beals Point and Peninsula, we also offer "Basic" Glamping, where we bring the tent and mattresses, and you bring the rest. This means that you need to bring your own sheets, pillows, sleeping bags, blankets and other camping essentials. Close by the sites are public restrooms with running water, drinking water, and showers. Hiking trails are found all around at both locations. At Beals Point you can rent kayaks, visit the snack bar, or take a dip in the lake- whatever suits your needs can be found close by!

I loved the camping spot under the huge redwood tree. It is a large pull through site very close to the 3 piece outdoor bathroom with hot water.. The bathroom is rustic and cute looking but has all the amenities. The site also provided a kitchen area that provides cooking spaces and a sink. We were lucky enough to receive some fresh fruit and eggs. This is a very soft friendly place and highly recommend to anyone coming through the area

This site located near wonderful pond, where you can swim, fishing, ride the catamaran or just sit on the deck and listen to the birds and frogs. The site has grill, table and fireplace. Cannot recommend this experience enough. What kind and gracious hosts we had!
The ranch is located up on a hill - great breeze in the afternoon. In the morning, Kevin invited us to feed and pet the animals - emu, llama, alpaca, several kinds of goats. Chickens! We learned about the animals and their care. Kevin took the time to answer any questions we had and it was clear that he really loves and respects each of them. Also baby goats! So adorable, they jump wherever they go!
Down the hill a bit is an immense garden. We walked down there and met his wife, Debra. She’s so passionate about her gardens and full of knowledge to pass on to novice gardeners like myself. Absolutely stunning and productive. She grows all kinds of fruits, vegetables, flowers, succulents, and cacti. Don’t get me started on the unique and beautiful & whimsical greenhouse. She even cut some flowers for me to take home.
Our campsite was large and welcoming. There were long water and electrical lines which gave us flexibility as to how and where we wanted to set up our travel trailer. They have a relax area with horseshoes, games, and rocking chairs for relaxing.
All in all we had a fantastic trip, and we will definitely return.

This is a great option for people looking to have fun at folsom lake. It is just minutes away from the state park! While at the site, Be prepared for a little bit of a walk to the flushing toilets and potable water where you will pass the adorable farm animals and maybe a working dog...or 4. Don't forget your binoculars to watch the abundance of birds and critters. It's surprisingly quiet for a very active farm & made for a restful stay! (:

Site #2 was absolutely perfect for a weekend trip. My group of friends and I probably said “this is the best campsite ever” 10+ times during our stay. The site itself was right on the water, making it extremely easy to pop in and out of the river for a swim. We didn’t mind that the site was fully in the sun during a very hot day since we were able to cool off in the river whenever we wanted and we brought a sun shade. There are some relatively gentle rapids that you can float down on a tube or raft. We saw so much wildlife, including fish, turtles, frogs, and birds of all kinds. The porta potties were clean. We were greeted upon arrival and the ranch manager came to check on us to see if we had any questions partway through our time there. I couldn’t recommend this spot more highly.

Yet another beautiful, successful camping trip at Cosumnes River Ranch. Absolutely love camping here, with well-planned sites and amazing access to the river. Despite the low winter precipitation this year, the river still had a decent flow and was great for cooling off on hot days. Note that Sawyers Bar 1 is a very sandy site (if you need stakes for any part of your camping set up, bring a mallet and/or some weights). We will be back again!

This was a great quick camping trip! The hosts are incredibly kind and accommodating. Our fellow campers were friendly and quiet. We appreciated the cleanliness of the portapotties. The boat launch is about a 5 minute drive from the campsite- there is no direct reservoir access from the campsites. During our stay, there was no ice nor firewood for sale, however there is a shell gas station about a 20 minute drive away that we were able to get to easily. The showers were clean and warm.
MAKE SURE TO DRIVE IN FROM HWY 4. Maps will take you on a “scenic route”, but highway 4 access via Copperopolis is much easier . Thank you to the hosts for everything!

2 nights at Walden Ranch
We had the pleasure of staying on Alan’s property for 2 nights and 3 days. We brought our 3 dogs and had an amazing time. The property is beautiful. Bathrooms were clean. The people who had been there before us left bags of trash on the ground so the dogs and chickens got into them leaving trash EVERYWHERE, but we cleaned it up for them. There is a small lake with canoes, horse shoes, a large fire pit, grills to use, wild chickens, cows, llamas, horses, and peacocks. We were worried about the dogs based on previous campers reviews but the dogs were a pleasure! Yes as people commented they pee on things… but they are ranch dogs, being ranch dogs. They listen well and were VERY friendly! 2 of which were dumped on the property and Alan has claimed them and cared for them. Bring bicycles if you can, made it easy to ride up to the bathrooms. We also rode out to 2 further ponds on the property and took a little plunge. If you get a chance to talk to Alan, LISTEN. The man is a gem, career teacher that made his dream of having his own Walden pond come true. We are only about 45 minutes away from this 300 acre slice of heaven and will be back as often as we can. Thank you Alan for sharing your property with us, it was an absolute pleasure.

What a great place to unplug & be one with nature. If you like to CAMP camp this is the place for you great sites with a clean porta potty nearby. Amazing views & access to the river. Sites are also spaced out enough where you're not on top of each other. If you need to grab some supplies, there's a market six gates & about 15-20mins away. We got to meet the lovely Rachel as she paddle boarded past us while floating in the river. Tom the land manager was very knowledgeable & friendly. I would love to come out here the later part of the year & stay in one of the cute little cabins. All in all we are looking to come out here again to check out the sites closer to the river. Site #14 has a great view above the river & #1 - #5 are down by the river with easier access. Thank you for a very memorable reset Rachel & Tom!

We loved camping on Sawyer’s bar - huge site so lots of room for the kids to play. We also enjoyed the easy river access and swimming holes. Overall one of the best places we’ve ever camped.

We always have a great time here! There were 2 new dogs who acted like puppies. My daughter loves animals, but we are a 1-cat family, so it was great to get to interact with them! We walked over to the small pond (even though it was hot), had a brief canoe excursion, and roasted tofu dogs and marshmallows. All while being serenaded by bullfrogs and other wildlife. In the morning, Brian introduced us to his huge black pig Adrian. 🐷
