Enjoy access to our open pastures for picnics and educational self guided and in-person guided tours. At check-in, we will provide you with arrival instructions, guiding you towards a few special places around the ranch and nearby areas to learn about our watershed, our farming practices and regenerative agriculture. The fees listed on this site are for the educational tours. By supporting us through our educational tours you also reserve a camping spot for FREE if you wish to stay with us overnight and enjoy your agricultural products from the farm.
Primitive sites are back-to-basics: no hookups, no structures, no potable water. There is non-potable water available for washing—please bring your own drinking water. A shared composting toilet is available to all campers. Winds can be strong in spring and summer, but sites are placed on the leeward side for protection. Fires are permitted when conditions allow—check with us on arrival.
We’re just 10 minutes from Tomales, 15 from Valley Ford, and 3.5 miles from Dillon Beach. Bring a kayak or canoe and paddle from camp to the Pacific via the Estero.
Primitive and RV Sites with sweeping views of West Marin pastureland at True Grass Farms, a working ranch along the Estero San Antonio. Our campsites are well spaced for privacy and quiet, surrounded by birdsong, grazing animals, and the rhythms of ranch life.
Each primitive site overlooks the Estero and is near a mowed grass road for easy access. It’s peaceful here at night—other campers may be nearby, but you’ll feel immersed in nature.

The Heron’s Nest is a cozy trailer tucked under a large willow, just 10 feet from the water. It includes a queen bed, kitchenette, indoor composting toilet, outdoor shower, firepit, and direct Estero access—perfect for two guests.
The Badger’s Den is a private full trailer with a queen bed, kitchen, dining area, indoor shower, and composting toilet—plus a private wood fired sauna, firepit, and peaceful surroundings.

PLEASE READ:
Hello all! If you're looking for some glamping with creature comforts, while just being 10 minutes away from restaurants. This is the place for you. We are a 5 acre property and home surrounded by tall redwood and oak trees. Very green and lots of shade. These are the amenities/facilities you will have free access to: Pool, Pool chairs and umbrellas, Deck area with sunset view, Trampolines, and hammocks.
There is not cooking allowed by or at any of the common areas, due to flies and critters. Cooking and eating is only allowed by your sites and not in any common areas: Hammocks, Trampolines, Pool Area, tables, sink, and deck please follow this rule because we want to prevent our shared areas to be fly and bug infested. We are still working on ridding the flies and cleaning. (please try to bring prepackaged food or something easy. If anything you can drive 10 minutes to nearby food and grocery). In the past we let people cook and eat around the pool but now our whole property is fly infested and I find scattered leftovers on the ground. Thanks for understanding.
THERE IS A 1-2 MINUTE HIKE TO THE CAMPSITES 1-5!
Poolside campsites are closer to the parking and are bigger.

This property is my home that I live in with my 2 kids. It is a rustic and homey vibe, definitely not a hotel. We want you to come knowing what to expect. Our property offers a pool, and trampolines for the kids. We have a deck patio area that overlooks an amazing view of the redwood forest. Most of our guests are those that come from foreign countries and they all LOVE the property. I love leaving a great impression of our area.

Grey Oaks is located on 20 acres of land, with multiple interesting and cool landscape features, hot water shower, and animals up by the house (1/4 mile from the campsites) that you can interact with during your stay here. ( 2 pasture horses, 1 Donkey, 2 friendly dogs, and 1 awesome cat). At the campsites, we have picnic tables, fire pits, bbqs, ice chests on request, and more. A clean and fresh well water hand/dishwashing station and two outhouses are conveniently located to the campsites. We provide one hot water shower and there are 3 outhouse style toilets on the grounds.
There is NO running water at the sites so we suggest you bring your own drinking water. There will be limited water provided for hand/dish washing.
We are a pack it in/pack it out campground so please, be mindful of waste as we ask that you take it out with you.
Eucalyptus, oak, and/or pine firewood is provided free for you during your stay with us. It really is a beautiful and wonderful property. There is wildlife, and it is private and peaceful. It is very dark at night and the view of the stars, moon, and planets is amazing. There is poison oak on the property so please be aware. We will show you what it looks like, so you can easily avoid it.

Nestled on its own private 3-acre redwood and oak forest, leading down to a creek. The site is located just 4 miles (10 min drive ) from Soquel Village and just 5 miles from the beach at Capitola.
The site offers:
- A 20ft modern container home with one queen sofa bed, large screen with
Apple TV, kitchen, patio, fridge, microwave, cooktop,
shower, and toilet.
- A custom, outdoor kitchen, and bar for entertaining with gas BBQ, fridge freezer, sink with hot and cold filtered water, Sonos sound system.
- Large gas fire pit and seating area.
- One A Frame eco cabin with option for one king size day bed OR two singles, A twin mattress can also fit in the cabin when in the two singles configuration. The cabin has electricity, fan and heating for colder nights.
- One very cute retro airstream style 1950's trailer with a twin bed for a couple or one person.

- Onsite you should find all the basic amenities from home

The site looks down into a private and secluded redwood and oak forest with trails for small hikes into the redwood fairy circles or all the way down to the creek.
The glamping site is on a sunny flat area surrounded by steep terrain up to a ridgeline and down to the creek. The creek is accessible although the final route requires a rope down so may not be suitable for everyone.
Within 15-20 min drive you will find almost all major attractions in the Santa Cruz area including The Mistery Spot, Nisene Marks State Forest, Capitola Pier, Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk, Henry Cowell Redwoods State Park, and many famous surf breaks from Capitola to The Point, The Hook, Steamer Lane and many more., as well as many amazing mountain bike trails.
There are also several Santa Cruz Mountain wineries to explore in a 3- 5 mile radius. Further afield you will find Monterey Bay Aquarium and the coastal beaches north up to San Francisco Bay ( 1 hour 30 mins north) and down to Big Sur about 1 hour 20 mins south.
We ask all our visitors to be respectful of the environment, our wildlife, and our neighbors. Please drive slowly and respect the quiet times: between 9.30 pm and 8.30 am. We check all our guests in and provide a quick tour. We can offer a number of additional amenities and services including shopping, stocking up on your favorite supplies, catering, romantic packages and special picnics on the Rainbow Ridge, and much more, so please just ask about all the possibilities.

The area of Eureka Canyon Road and Highland Way is charming and quiet. A location surrounded by forest and quite close to some of the best cycling on the West Coast. The property itself is nestled adjacent to pristine Corralitos Creek with its serene sounds of flowing water and steelhead trout. The trees that tower all around have a quiet presence, and you’ll often be aware of the gentle murmur of the breeze through their leaves and branches. This is an ideal place to rest after a day of exploring, sightseeing, or simply experiencing everything the Santa Cruz Mountains and nearby town offer.
The Tree House or "Wood Tent":
This little home in the trees is unique and can be considered an alternative to camping. Features that combine both “tiny cabin" and "camping", there are plenty of the amenities that will make it feel like a comfy getaway spot. A ladder leads to loft which houses twin mattress.

Weekend Trip to Unhitched Snug Harbor RV Park & Marina
Our family loved our stay at the Snuggle Inn! My boys had a good time fishing off the docks and swimming in the water. There was room for the kids to run around and even a little park playset for them to play on.
It was over 100 degrees during our stay, but the AC runs nice and cold in the living room. We set up a fan to circulate air to the bedroom, since it got a little hot back there.
Depending on your route, check to make sure the ferries are open! No fault of the hosts, but the main ferry - The Real McCoy was closed when we went, so it added an hour and a half to our drive time.

Weekend Trip to Santa Cruz Mountain Camping
This was a lovely, restorative escape from the city! We loved every part of our stay. The tent was clean, comfortable, and easy to access. The site was so serene, well maintained, and quiet. The site is still close to a store, wineries, hikes etc so there is plenty to do around. Shelly was very considerate to leave extra blankets and trash bins which was very thoughtful. I got the best sleep I’ve had in a while and woke up to turkeys, deer, and all sorts of birds. I will be back! Thank you, Shelly, for your hospitality. 😊

Weekend Trip to Swallowtail Historic Art Studio
This place feels like a labor of love.
Communication was excellent from the start. Bill provided clear instructions, stayed in touch, and made us feel welcome. You can tell hosting is something he genuinely loves.
Although we didn’t get to meet Michelle, her presence is woven throughout the property. The gardens, eclectic treasures, and artwork create a magical atmosphere.
The cottage was wonderful. The bed was incredibly comfortable, and the dual-controlled heated mattress was a favorite feature. The natural light was breathtaking and made it easy to slow down and simply be present.
We loved soaking in the hot tub under the stars and were lucky enough to see the resident deer in the evening and again outside our window the next morning. The bathtub, stained glass, and artistic touches made the stay feel special. Breakfast on the deck with homemade bread, fruit, tea, and coffee was the perfect way to start the day.
It was fun thinking about the creative energy that has moved through these spaces. Members of the Grateful Dead spent time here, and there is a wonderful sense of artistry, history, and community woven throughout the property.
A tip for future guests: bring a robe for the cozy walks between the cottage and separate bathroom area. Also, this is a cottage with character, not a modern hotel, so if the occasional spider or tiny bug bothers you, come prepared for a more rustic experience.
This was the perfect weekend getaway. Already thinking of our return.

Weekend Trip to Leafy Lanes Tree House (“Fort”)
We loved how the treehouse was nestled into the beautiful redwoods alongside a running creek. It made the experience so tranquil and inviting. Inside was designed so well, it made us feel like we were in some far away land. The smell of the treehouse was my favorite, like fresh wood and palo santo. Melissa was so attentive and provided everything we needed and more. We will definitely be sharing this place with our friends!

Nice private tent site that feels like you are in the redwood forest. Great accommodations of flush toilet, hot shower, pool, hammocks and games available. Hosts are very welcoming and attentive. Do note that the site is actually a small hike from the parking area so packing light and only essentials recommended.

There are 2 camp spots. One at the top of the property near their home, but away far enough for privacy.
The creekside camp is about a 10 or 15 minute walk from the top.
Dead ends to a trail down to the creek.
The owner of the property Doug is super nice and very accommodating.
He lead us down to the creek spot via his ATV. You for sure would like to have a 4 wheel drive to get to creekside spot. But seems doable at a slow pace with a solid vehicle.

3 nights at Double Bear
My partner and I loved camp Double Bear! We were lucky to have the site to ourselves, so we had a quiet, peaceful, and relaxing anniversary weekend. We especially loved the wood stoves and fireplace, they added extra coziness. The bathrooms and showers were very clean, and the kitchen was awesome. We were able to store food and make our meals easily. Any questions we had were quickly answered by Mathilda, the host. We’re definitely looking forward to coming back with more friends/family.

Quail Nest is a quiet campsite that feels tucked away from the rest of the campground. It sits up a short path beside a hillside and is surrounded by tall vegetation, providing plenty of privacy and a peaceful atmosphere. While the plants block most views of the surrounding hills, there are still some nice views along the short walk to the site.
The campsite includes a fire pit with a cooking grate, plus a table and a couple of chairs, making it comfortable for relaxing and cooking meals.
I enjoyed my stay at Quail Nest and would gladly return. If you're looking for privacy and a peaceful camping experience, this site is worth considering.

Oh my gosh. If I’m ever driving up to San Fran or Berkeley again, I’m 1000% staying here again. My FAVORITE stay thus far. You have everything you need in this little tree house. Melissa was so sweet. I came to stay by myself with my small dog and I felt completely safe. It truly was the best little get away to disconnect.
I couldn’t stop taking videos because of how cute and well thought out everything was.
(Get familiar with the gotta go portable toilet before you arrive! lol)

Exactly what we were hoping for. Comfortable, well set up, and zero complaints from our group — two families, three kids between us (2 × 2-year-olds and a 3-year-old), and everyone was happy.
The little houses were a huge hit with the littles, and the trampoline kept them busy for hours. Location is unbeatable — super close to Capitola and Santa Cruz, so you get the nature feel without being far from everything.
Would 100% come back.

Beautiful setting and so very unique. Very convenient to get to after the show at Rancho Nicasio. Luxuriously warm and comfortable bed! So amazing to be able to soak in the hot tub on a blustery evening. Hosts were easy to communicate with and we enjoyed meeting and talking with Bill. Very much looking forward to visiting again. Don’t miss the picture book on the nightstand of the construction process. Thanks Bill and Michelle for sharing your beautiful place!
