Primitive sites are back-to-basics: no hookups, no structures, no potable water. There is non-potable water available for washing—please bring your own drinking water. A shared composting toilet is available to all campers. Winds can be strong in spring and summer, but sites are placed on the leeward side for protection. Fires are permitted when conditions allow—check with us on arrival.
We’re just 10 minutes from Tomales, 15 from Valley Ford, and 3.5 miles from Dillon Beach. Bring a kayak or canoe and paddle from camp to the Pacific via the Estero.
Primitive and RV Sites with sweeping views of West Marin pastureland at True Grass Farms, a working ranch along the Estero San Antonio. Our campsites are well spaced for privacy and quiet, surrounded by birdsong, grazing animals, and the rhythms of ranch life.
Each primitive site overlooks the Estero and is near a mowed grass road for easy access. It’s peaceful here at night—other campers may be nearby, but you’ll feel immersed in nature.

The Heron’s Nest is a cozy trailer tucked under a large willow, just 10 feet from the water. It includes a queen bed, kitchenette, indoor composting toilet, outdoor shower, firepit, and direct Estero access—perfect for two guests.
The Badger’s Den is a private full trailer with a queen bed, kitchen, dining area, indoor shower, and composting toilet—plus a private wood fired sauna, firepit, and peaceful surroundings.

PLEASE READ:
Hello all! If you're looking for some glamping with creature comforts, while just being 10 minutes away from restaurants. This is the place for you. We are a 5 acre property and home surrounded by tall redwood and oak trees. Very green and lots of shade. These are the amenities/facilities you will have free access to: Pool, Pool chairs and umbrellas, Deck area with sunset view, Trampolines, and hammocks.
There is not cooking allowed by or at any of the common areas, due to flies and critters. Cooking and eating is only allowed by your sites and not in any common areas: Hammocks, Trampolines, Pool Area, tables, sink, and deck please follow this rule because we want to prevent our shared areas to be fly and bug infested. We are still working on ridding the flies and cleaning. (please try to bring prepackaged food or something easy. If anything you can drive 10 minutes to nearby food and grocery). In the past we let people cook and eat around the pool but now our whole property is fly infested and I find scattered leftovers on the ground. Thanks for understanding.
THERE IS A 1-2 MINUTE HIKE TO THE CAMPSITES 1-5!
Poolside campsites are closer to the parking and are bigger.

Our property offers a pool, and trampolines for the kids. We have a deck patio area that overlooks an amazing view of the redwood forest. Most of our guests are those that come from foreign countries and they all LOVE the property. I love leaving a great impression of our area.

Nestled on its own private 3-acre redwood and oak forest, leading down to a creek. The site is located just 4 miles (10 min drive ) from Soquel Village and just 5 miles from the beach at Capitola.
The site offers:
- A 20ft modern container home with one queen sofa bed, large screen with
Apple TV, kitchen, patio, fridge, microwave, cooktop,
shower, and toilet.
- A custom, outdoor kitchen, and bar for entertaining with gas BBQ, fridge freezer, sink with hot and cold filtered water, Sonos sound system.
- Large gas fire pit and seating area.
- One A Frame eco cabin with option for one king size day bed OR two singles, A twin mattress can also fit in the cabin when in the two singles configuration. The cabin has electricity, fan and heating for colder nights.
- One very cute retro airstream style 1950's trailer with a twin bed for a couple or one person.
- Space for 1-2 additional tents. For groups of 8 or more and special
events please contact us so we can discuss the possibilities.
- Onsite you should find all the basic amenities from home
including all bedding, towels, kitchenware, cooking utensils, dining ware, herbs and spices, cleaning products, gas for the BBQ and fire pit is included etc. There are a few things you should bring: Food, drinks,
ice and fun!
The site looks down into a private and secluded redwood and oak forest with trails for small hikes into the redwood fairy circles or all the way down to the creek.
The glamping site is on a sunny flat area surrounded by steep terrain up to a ridgeline and down to the creek. The creek is accessible although the final route requires a rope down so may not be suitable for everyone.
Within 15-20 min drive you will find almost all major attractions in the Santa Cruz area including The Mistery Spot, Nisene Marks State Forest, Capitola Pier, Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk, Henry Cowell Redwoods State Park, and many famous surf breaks from Capitola to The Point, The Hook, Steamer Lane and many more., as well as many amazing mountain bike trails.
There are also several Santa Cruz Mountain wineries to explore in a 3- 5 mile radius. Further afield you will find Monterey Bay Aquarium and the coastal beaches north up to San Francisco Bay ( 1 hour 30 mins north) and down to Big Sur about 1 hour 20 mins south.
We ask all our visitors to be respectful of the environment, our wildlife, and our neighbors. Please drive slowly and respect the quiet times: between 9.30 pm and 8.30 am. We check all our guests in and provide a quick tour. We can offer a number of additional amenities and services including shopping, stocking up on your favorite supplies, catering, romantic packages and special picnics on the Rainbow Ridge, and much more, so please just ask about all the possibilities.

( 2 pasture horses, 1 Donkey, 2 friendly dogs, and 1 awesome cat). At the campsites, we have picnic tables, fire pits, bbqs, ice chests on request, and more. A clean and fresh well water hand/dishwashing station and two outhouses are conveniently located to the campsites. We provide one hot water shower and there are 3 outhouse style toilets on the grounds.
There is NO running water at the sites so we suggest you bring your own drinking water. There will be limited water provided for hand/dish washing.
We are a pack it in/pack it out campground so please, be mindful of waste as we ask that you take it out with you.
Eucalyptus, oak, and/or pine firewood is provided free for you during your stay with us. It really is a beautiful and wonderful property. There is wildlife, and it is private and peaceful. It is very dark at night and the view of the stars, moon, and planets is amazing. There is poison oak on the property so please be aware. We will show you what it looks like, so you can easily avoid it.

Mel’s treehouse is the coolest most relaxing and most well appointed Hipcamp you will ever find. Babbling brook? Check! Hot outdoor shower? Check! Adorable little treehouse studio camping? Check! Kindest, most communicative and friendly host in Mel?? Check! Just the absolute best experience. Composting toilet requires a tiny bit of knowledge which Mel kindly explained. Seriously can’t speak highly enough of this one. Great job Mel! Almost certainly will be back. The setting is easy (just park and walk up the steps!) but it’s a little ways into the mountains outside Corralitos, perfectly set in the redwoods. Amazing.

The view is breathtaking and was truly the highlight of my camping adventures for the past 2 weeks. The road in is super treacherous but doable for the experienced 4x4er maybe not for those with no knowledge of driving up mountain dirt roads. Lots of washouts and ruts so choose your path wisely. Josh was super adamant about assuring I was equipped for the path up though and gave me warning and made sure I had the right type of vehicle for it. Directions in are tricky but Josh provided us with pictures and gave really descriptive details so we made it first shot up with no issues.

Cozy little cabin. Light burbling of the river was pleasant to go to sleep to. Nice hikes nearby. We'd recommend sausage from the nearby Market & Sausage co. for the grill.

Melissa’s cabin was very cute and cozy. The location is beautiful and she clearly put a lot of thought and care into the space. She even provided snacks like chips, bananas, and bread, as well as drinks like coffee, sparkling water, and beer!

I got to meet Doug in person, such a generous host. Was great with our girls (7 and 11).
The setup itself is primitive, so be prepared for a bucket for a toilet and a faucet for water. Pack it in and pack it out.
As long as you know what you’re in for, you’ll have a great time!

Great hosts. They met us for a quick orientation and even had a box of supplies for us. Not sure if everyone gets that or it was for us since we were the only ones there, but it was very nice and thoughtful. Site 1 and two are next to each other but spaced to keep as separate as possible. The surroundings make the three sites feel like you are in the woods - even though when we thought about it, we are in the "front yard.". It's 100 yards from the road or anything else. The shower is up a hill and a nice addition. Nothing fancy, but clearly thought out and it works (warm water too). The ground on site 1 is close to flat, but not entirely. The benches, camp fire space, and grill are a nice addition and at every site. We went on a rainy weekend and I would return and recommend. It was one of the nicer basic places I have stayed. Doug and Denise’s site was beautiful. Short little jaunt down to the creek where our kids could swim and play with newts in the water.

Perfect place for us. Loved the tent and the vibe at the retreat. Right next door to the best beaches and hikes on the west coast. One hour to Santa Cruz and one hour to San Fran. Lots of driving along the beautiful coastal highway

I have stayed on this property 4 or 5 times now. This was my first time down at the tent sites. It was incredible. Very peaceful, lots of nature and birds. There were people at the other sites, but they are not close together and it still felt very private. Composting toilet or GREAT.

Weekend Trip to Santa Cruz Mountain Camping
A cute, simple retreat space. Located on an open space farm land. There are some shipping containers and spare farm tools/parts around the land and it’s near a road, but the tent still feels tucked away in nature since it is next to nice trees. Easy directions and parking. There are no lanterns or power, so consider bringing a light for the tent. Outhouse is simple but clean, bring spare toilet paper and water if staying for a few days. Bed is super comfy and blankets warm. The sound of nature and cute animal visitors is abundant. Saw turkeys, deer, and many other birds. Enjoyed my stay.

Lovely evening out camping with lots of privacy and a chorus of birds surrounding us. Directions were easy to understand and we had no issues reaching the Farm Shop or entering the property itself. The firewood bundle was worth getting! Dusk and dawn were absolutely stunning while we were out there.
We only live 25 min away so this was a perfect staycation for us and we plan on coming back when we just need a night out under the stars surrounded by the beautiful hills of West Marin.

Her directions were clear and had a great pdf file that explained everything about the property.
