Slide Ranch is a nonprofit organization established in 1970, becoming one of the first Park Partners in the Golden Gate National Recreation Area. Slide Ranch is located on the Marin coast, on land that has a rich history in connecting people to food. The Coast Miwok once fished and foraged for food at this site, and in the late 19th century Portuguese dairy farmers purchased the land and produced milk and butter for residents of San Francisco. In 1969, 134 acres of this fertile coastline were rescued from commercial development. Slide Ranch camping fees directly fund scholarships for youth programs throughout the year. Slide Ranch is an unpaved ranch environment. Our trails and garden paths all consist of uneven, sloping terrain, often muddy or soft ground during the winter season, and may be challenging to access for visitors with significant mobility restrictions. Minors aged 17 and under must be accompanied by an adult. No pets allowed; service animals are permitted. We do not have showering facilities or flush toilets. Water in all Slide Ranch taps is potable for refilling water bottles/jugs. Soap is provided for hand washing. Slide Ranch does not have any concessions on site. One of the buildings is there as a demonstration site till its done and we'll have the cob builder to be there to show you around. Cob working party is held by a master cob builder. Grey Oaks is located on 20 acres of land, with multiple interesting and cool landscape features, hot water shower, and animals up by the house (1/4 mile from the campsites) that you can interact with during your stay here. ( 2 pasture horses, 1 Donkey, 2 friendly dogs, and 1 awesome cat). At the campsites, we have picnic tables, fire pits, bbqs, chairs, and more. A clean and fresh well water hand/dishwashing station and two outhouses are conveniently located to the campsites. We provide one hot water shower and there are 3 outhouse style toilets on the grounds. We do not provide any soaps/shampoos/sponges, etc so pleas bring your own. There is NO running water at the sites so we suggest you bring your own drinking water. There will be limited water provided for hand/dish washing. We are a pack it in/pack it out campground so please, be mindful of waste as we ask that you take it out with you. We do not have dumpsters/trash service on site so please be mindful of this when packing and booking. Firewood will be provided at your site when you check in. We make a nightly run to check in and replenish and/or, you may message us up to 8pm if you'd like more. We will restock your wood rack the next day for those staying multiple nights. It really is a beautiful and wonderful property. There is wildlife, and it is private and peaceful. It is very dark at night and the view of the stars, moon, and planets is amazing. There is poison oak on the property so please be aware. We will show you what it looks like, so you can easily avoid it.

Breathe deep in nature on our 10-acre property on Kings Mountain, California hillside. Our generously sized Safari-style tents offer a unique blend of comfort and adventure. Each tent has beds, down comforters, crisp cotton linens, lights, and more. Outdoor and indoor furniture and little touches that will make your stay unique. The property is located 30min from SFO, 40min from San Francisco, 30min from Palo Alto, 20 min from Half Moon Bay. Each tent is perched on a sturdy wooden platform and features a fully furnished deck, providing a cozy space to relax and soak in the breathtaking ocean (Half Moon Bay views) and forest views (Kings Mountain). All tents include a mini fridge and a stove, ideal for light cooking, intimate fireside storytelling, and warmth during cool days. We suggest you bring easy-to-prep food, drinks, warm clothes, hiking shoes, and a beanie, as it can get chilly without notice. Your designated parking space is a 6-minute walk from the campsite (downhill on arrival, then back uphill (steep) in the forest), so we recommend traveling light. Our Farm, Animals & Presence Fancy Camp shares the property with our small working farm, so you’re guaranteed to meet a few of our residents during your stay. You may also see us tending to the land and animals throughout the day—we always try to do so respectfully and as discreetly as possible. Messy & Salma, two of our dogs, keep watch over the chickens and goats. If you hear them barking at night, they’re simply doing their job protecting the land and its animals. Our chickens also get an early start, so they may occasionally provide your natural morning alarm. Our friendly goats roam the property during the day and may wander over for pets and nuzzles. They’re gentle and curious, but please don’t feed them or invite them inside your tent. The same goes for our cats and other dogs, no matter how convincing they may be! If you ever need assistance with any of the animals, please reach out to us before 8:00 pm. Recharge from the day with a hot shower. Grab your fresh towels from your tent and go to your outdoor allocated bathhouses, where you’ll find an indoor shower and well-appointed restrooms. They are nicely lit and stocked with bath products. A sink area is available for dish clean-up, a bbq/picnic area, fire pit & cedar wood hot tub (to be booked separately). KM is famous for its hiking and biking trails nestled amongst the redwoods. The closest is a 15-minute walk from our campsite, and others are within a 15-minute car ride. Tent 01 (180sqft) accommodates 3 people in a queen-size bed and a daybed. Tent 02 (210sqft) accommodates 4 people: two in a queen-size bed and two in a bunk bed and an outdoor suspended net Tent 03 (210sqft) accommodates 4 people: two in a queen-size bed and two in a twin bed + daybed and an outdoor propane stove, hangout deck Recently added: an apartment w a hot tub Kids under the age of 8 are not allowed. Rabbits everywhere!....little cute ones. The are in the process of "updating", so good job there, lots of nooks and crannies to fish from, can't wait to get back!

Tent camping here was the most magical combination of glamping and wilderness. ✨ From the moment we arrived, being surrounded by the sweetest, friendliest animals made it feel like our own little hidden world in the woods. So peaceful, homey, and safe. Soaking in the hot tub surrounded by incredible views felt unreal, and ending the night under the trees and stars with the wood-burning stove keeping our tent warm and cozy made the whole experience unforgettable. It truly felt like we had escaped into a little fairytale for the weekend. Thank you so much to Sana and William for being incredibly warm and welcoming and making this beautiful place feel like home. This is absolutely a must-see, must-do experience, and we can’t wait to come back. 🌲✨

Our stay was great, we enjoyed our weekend very much. The only suggestion id make is that the cabin be cleaned better, the window sills were dirty and the blinds needed cleaning. Price was great, cooking equipment and utensils were ok, they served the need. One last thing is the playground for the kids for sure needs work, I would love to bring my grandkids but there would not be much for them to do.

This was my first Hipcamp experience and it did not disappoint. The location was very easy to access, and the views were AMAZING!!! The campsites were spread out providing enough privacy. The Airstream was perfect and had everything I needed. Good size bed which was comfortable, nice little sink and stove, toilet and shower, and a nice dining area with bench seating. The RV outside had an overhang providing good shade. The hosts were kind enough to provide a propane firepit, two camping chairs, a large table bench, and a charcoal grill. The camping spot had a hiking trail right in front of it, which was nice to trek. Overall, it was a great experience and hosts were beyond accommodating. Would love to come back very soon!

This was a lovely, shaded campsite tucked behind a local winery. Hipcampers get 10% off tastings if you are so inclined. This is also where the campsite restroom is located. The sites are about a quarter mile walk from there. There is also a Buddhist-type temple near the sites where gatherings are held. One evening there seemed to be a little vegetable stand on the property with a variety of local veggies for sale with a donation for payment. There is also an area for tent campers and a separate area for Harvest Host campers. John, the host, was friendly and welcoming. We would stay here again for sure.
