Our property is lakeside at Rollins Lake In Colfax. We live on over 30 private, beautiful acres with footpath access to Rollins Lake. (3 minute walk from the dome or house, and 10-15 minutes from the cabin) where most summer days here are spent swimming, paddle boarding, kayaking, fishing ect., down at the water. You can follow our driveway to the bottom and access the beginning of The Bear River which has a nice hiking trail alongside it or drive 8 minutes to the nearest boat ramp and 10 minutes to the town of Colfax where you will find gas, groceries, and restaurants. We have a beautiful spot where you will not see any neighbors so it is peaceful and private with gorgeous 360-degree views. It is also very safe! Bask in nature, quiet, and privacy! In summer there is a 3-night minimum for the cabin and dome. Occasionally a two day midweek will pop up on the schedule last minute. To see correct pricing, enter your dates as they can fluctuate with holidays, weekends. Prices are decreased midweek. Love creek sanctuary was founded in 2016. It all started with Stu the steer and his best friend Petey the goat, from there we have rescued over 90 animals, 45 make their home here at the sanctuary. Our camping areas are fenced from the animals but you are free to explore our 12 acres and interact with the animals during your stay here. We ask that children under 10 stay outside the animal areas and children over 10 are accompanied by a grownup. We have plenty of art and child friendly activities, just ask and we can set you up. We have a no dog policy because the chickens and birds are free ranging, unfortunately we have had several bad experiences with dogs attacking the birds and other animals. If you have a dog that has been around farm animals and is well behaved, let's talk about it. We have 5 dogs so the birds have NO FEAR of them. ---- We are a working farm - PLEASE READ----- There are donkeys, roosters, dogs and peacocks that make noise, sometimes at night and always early in the morning. Please be aware that you may hear the donkeys bray (usually lasts about 30 seconds), roosters crow, guinea fowl chirp. It is startling and will wake you up. We do our best to keep the dogs hushed but we cannot stop the donkeys, roosters and peacocks from doing their thing. If you are a light sleeper, please bring earplugs or select another wonderful Hipcamp in our area, thank you! In addition to the interesting sounds you will hear, you will encounter dirt, poop and spiders. Since we are a working farm, things get dirty. We spray all high traffic surfaces twice a day but things get dirty and when it rains it is muddy. Please plan accordingly. We are centrally located between Grass Valley and Auburn, giving you access to endless recreational activities, wineries, breweries and restaurants. We have 50 or so rescued farm animals, you can interact with our pig Hank, Mojo the goat or Teddy the alpaca. All we ask is for them to be leashed at all times and no poop bags are allowed on the farm. Their poo helps fertilize our trees as nature intended. However, please clean up after your pets in the camping area and please take it with you when you leave. Don’t feel like cooking while your camping? No worries we have restaurants in town that would love to serve you. Lastly, the farm has no trash cans or dumpsters on site. We are a "pack it in pack it out" farm. History of the snowy peaks- the Wilson family started the Snowy Peaks Farm in 1979. When you camp with us the tallest trees you see are planted from the original family. Snowy Peaks opened the gates for choose and cut Christmas trees in 1984. Since then, the property has had 3 owners: the Wilson’s, Armstrong's and now the Jones family who are continuing the tree farm legacy. Over the years we have HAND planted (yes hand planted) well over 30,000 trees to make up for every single tree we sell during the Christmas tree season. The other direction is the largest lake in our county Bullards Bar Reservoir and Emerald Cove Marina. We are 1 mile down Marysville Rd. from a launch called dark day. There is a trailhead at the top of overflow boat parking for a public swimming hole on the lake. On our property, we have a main house with its own private facilities such as a kitchen, shower, and bath. On the land, we have 9 total unique cabin and canvas tent structures converted into boutique-like campsites. We have an epic outdoor entertaining kitchen and patio with an outdoor pizza oven and a little dog rinse behind the outdoor shower. The bathhouse is right across the way and provides a private but shared guest shower house, tub and sink. Like anywhere in the woods there is an hour at sunset when you may have mosquitoes down near the sites in the spring and some of the summers depending on the year. We have a natural spray for that or fans in the kitchen. Off the path, you may find poison oak in the thick of the woods. So please stay on the marked trails.

At this point you may camp in the meadow next to the shed or you may proceed to the next meadow over to the left (follow red arrows and look for umbrellas). We normally only have one site occupied per evening. Ocaisonally two sites will be occupied. The sites are very private and quiet as this is a large, private ranch. You can park close to your tent site. 2WD / 4WD access weather permitting. We offer 3 sites in a large meadow area. Max of 4 persons per site. RV's welcome but we do not have hookups. RV's will be parked next to our barns surrounded by pear orchards. Fresh drinking water is available in the tent meadow area. Hot showers are now available at $10 extra per nite per site. A gas BBQ is now available at a common area. Please don't move the BBQ. Deer, wild turkeys, geese aplenty. Ample walking opportunities on our ranch and wild forestlands and amazing granite rock outcrops. Visit the South Fork of the American River (you can raft in summer!) Hunt for old gold mines on our place and, maybe, find some new ones! Go wine tasting very close by (Lava Cap, Madrone, Boeger) and visit Sutter's Mill in Coloma, where gold was discovered back in 1848.

It is quiet and beautiful. Usually cooler because it is right on the water. The dock goes out to the 4 acre pond which is stocked with Bass. You will need to keep food inside of the Cabin/Sauna because we share the space with the animals that live here. The pond is shared with one other neighbor, so you may see other people playing on the pond or hear nearby activity through the trees. It's a great place to hang your hammock and bring a good book or birdwatch. Frolic has been an adventure for me in Saying Yes to life and the rewarding challenges it brings. I fell in love with the huge grama oaks, the pristine pond and the feral overgrown everything. It has been a workin' progress and lots of time to sweat, craft, pause and listen. The property is shaped like a pint glass, running north to south, with a lovely bowl the pond sits in and an ancient meadow up behind the cabin full of apples 🍎 & pears 🍐. Up the hill, a hotter zone, more exposed with its own beauty, where we live. On the occasion, one of us may come down to the pond for a swim, especially when it's too hot up top. We will be respectful but likely just need to cool down. Frolic has been a great teacher in reminding me to PLAY, relax and go with the flow. I hope you can find the same joy and rejuvenation here.

Not only are we crafty, but also nature enthusiasts to feel free to reach out and ask about fun things to do here, if you are looking to stay busy exploring the nature. We also have a beautiful sunset hike that overlooks some beautiful views. Oracle Oak Grove has a wide variety of camping options. We have a camp grounds on the lower end of the property that currently hosts 4 different camp sites. the 3 May Pole zone, and 1 Faerie fields. There is one shared Bonfire zone that can be used for friends camping together during the spring and late fall months when we are not in fire season. We love hosting groups and birthday parties. Also individual campers as well. We have two yurts available if you are more into the Glamping experience or especially if camping in the winter. The Witches Hut and The Little Witch Hut! The Witches Hut which is larger and can fit a family of 3 or 4. This hut includes a patio, grill, and Private entrance. The Little Witch Hut is smaller and more suitable for a couple or a single person wanting some solo retreat time. This one has cooking amenities accessible in an outdoor kitchen just outside the yurt. This one also gets better access to the Starlink available on the property. This yurt has the compost toilet outside and is a less than minute walk to it. Both yurts have the ability to park fairly close to them and both are fully furnished. The Yurts are available for a higher expense than the camping of course. We are sorry to say that Hot tub season is now closed. We do have a wood-fired Cedar Hot tub, she is our Cauldron she is only available during winter and very early spring visits. I am sorry, but due to fire season and her being wood-fired she is not available outside hot tub season. If you are interested in the experience it requires advanced noticed as well as an extra charge for wood, cleaning, and tending. She is a labor of love, and such a unique experience. Enjoy the smell of cedar, chlorine free waters under the stars. Enjoy and hopefully you come and experience the Magic we have made Stewarding these acres. PLEASE come check in before DARK. We are in a very Rural Area and it can be difficult to see a night where to park and camp. We have pathways and lights to guide, but there is a DESIGNATED parking zone and a cart available to carry your stuff to your CAMPSITE. Please be aware that you may hear the donkeys bray (usually lasts about 30 seconds), roosters crow, guinea fowl chirp. It is startling and will wake you up. We do our best to keep the dogs hushed but we cannot stop the donkeys, roosters and peacocks from doing their thing. If you are a light sleeper, please bring earplugs or select another wonderful Hipcamp in our area, thank you! In addition to the interesting sounds you will hear, you will encounter dirt, poop and spiders. Since we are a working farm, things get dirty. We spray all high traffic surfaces twice a day but things get dirty and when it rains it is muddy. Please plan accordingly. There is a trailhead at the top of overflow boat parking for a public swimming hole on the lake. On our property, we have a main house with its own private facilities such as a kitchen, shower, and bath. On the land, we have 9 total unique cabin and canvas tent structures converted into boutique-like campsites. We have an epic outdoor entertaining kitchen and patio with an outdoor pizza oven and a little dog rinse behind the outdoor shower. The bathhouse is right across the way and provides a private but shared guest shower house, tub and sink. Like anywhere in the woods there is an hour at sunset when you may have mosquitoes down near the sites in the spring and some of the summers depending on the year. We normally only have one site occupied per evening. Ocaisonally two sites will be occupied. The sites are very private and quiet as this is a large, private ranch. You can park close to your tent site. 2WD / 4WD access weather permitting. We offer 3 sites in a large meadow area. Max of 4 persons per site. RV's welcome but we do not have hookups. RV's will be parked next to our barns surrounded by pear orchards. Fresh drinking water is available in the tent meadow area. Hot showers are now available at $10 extra per nite per site. A gas BBQ is now available at a common area. Please don't move the BBQ. Deer, wild turkeys, geese aplenty. Ample walking opportunities on our ranch and wild forestlands and amazing granite rock outcrops. Visit the South Fork of the American River (you can raft in summer!) Hunt for old gold mines on our place and, maybe, find some new ones! Go wine tasting very close by (Lava Cap, Madrone, Boeger) and visit Sutter's Mill in Coloma, where gold was discovered back in 1848.

You will need to keep food inside of the Cabin/Sauna because we share the space with the animals that live here. The pond is shared with one other neighbor, so you may see other people playing on the pond or hear nearby activity through the trees. It's a great place to hang your hammock and bring a good book or birdwatch. Frolic has been an adventure for me in Saying Yes to life and the rewarding challenges it brings. I fell in love with the huge grama oaks, the pristine pond and the feral overgrown everything. It has been a workin' progress and lots of time to sweat, craft, pause and listen. The property is shaped like a pint glass, running north to south, with a lovely bowl the pond sits in and an ancient meadow up behind the cabin full of apples 🍎 & pears 🍐. Up the hill, a hotter zone, more exposed with its own beauty, where we live. On the occasion, one of us may come down to the pond for a swim, especially when it's too hot up top. We will be respectful but likely just need to cool down. Frolic has been a great teacher in reminding me to PLAY, relax and go with the flow. I hope you can find the same joy and rejuvenation here.

We are stewards of this land, graciously grateful to grow food such as corn, broomcorn, pumpkins, flowers, and watermelons under the sun. This land is located less than 20 mins to multiple different Yuba River access points. We are also located in the Armpit of Nevada county with 3 access ways 15 mins each way to Grass Valley, Nevada City or Penn Valley. The neighborhood of this area is also one of the more safer bike friendlier places, you can ride into town along the NID trails, or set up camp and head up the 20HWY less than 20 mins to enjoy Epic Mountain Biking Trails. Not only are we crafty, but also nature enthusiasts to feel free to reach out and ask about fun things to do here, if you are looking to stay busy exploring the nature. We also have a beautiful sunset hike that overlooks some beautiful views. Oracle Oak Grove has a wide variety of camping options. We have a camp grounds on the lower end of the property that currently hosts 4 different camp sites. the 3 May Pole zone, and 1 Faerie fields. There is one shared Bonfire zone that can be used for friends camping together during the spring and late fall months when we are not in fire season. We love hosting groups and birthday parties. Also individual campers as well. We have two yurts available if you are more into the Glamping experience or especially if camping in the winter. The Witches Hut and The Little Witch Hut! The Witches Hut which is larger and can fit a family of 3 or 4. This hut includes a patio, grill, and Private entrance. The Little Witch Hut is smaller and more suitable for a couple or a single person wanting some solo retreat time. This one has cooking amenities accessible in an outdoor kitchen just outside the yurt. This one also gets better access to the Starlink available on the property. This yurt has the compost toilet outside and is a less than minute walk to it. Both yurts have the ability to park fairly close to them and both are fully furnished. The Yurts are available for a higher expense than the camping of course. We are sorry to say that Hot tub season is now closed. We do have a wood-fired Cedar Hot tub, she is our Cauldron she is only available during winter and very early spring visits. I am sorry, but due to fire season and her being wood-fired she is not available outside hot tub season. If you are interested in the experience it requires advanced noticed as well as an extra charge for wood, cleaning, and tending. She is a labor of love, and such a unique experience. Enjoy the smell of cedar, chlorine free waters under the stars. Enjoy and hopefully you come and experience the Magic we have made Stewarding these acres. PLEASE come check in before DARK. We are in a very Rural Area and it can be difficult to see a night where to park and camp. We have pathways and lights to guide, but there is a DESIGNATED parking zone and a cart available to carry your stuff to your CAMPSITE. Also the American River is another nearby beauty worth exploring. There is so much nature and beauty around our area. Frolic (property name) is a wild place with nature running the show. It is quiet and beautiful. Usually cooler because it is right on the water. The dock goes out to the 4 acre pond which is stocked with Bass. You will need to keep food inside of the Cabin/Sauna because we share the space with the animals that live here. The pond is shared with one other neighbor, so you may see other people playing on the pond or hear nearby activity through the trees. It's a great place to hang your hammock and bring a good book or birdwatch. Frolic has been an adventure for me in Saying Yes to life and the rewarding challenges it brings. I fell in love with the huge grama oaks, the pristine pond and the feral overgrown everything. It has been a workin' progress and lots of time to sweat, craft, pause and listen. The property is shaped like a pint glass, running north to south, with a lovely bowl the pond sits in and an ancient meadow up behind the cabin full of apples 🍎 & pears 🍐. Up the hill, a hotter zone, more exposed with its own beauty, where we live. On the occasion, one of us may come down to the pond for a swim, especially when it's too hot up top. We will be respectful but likely just need to cool down. Frolic has been a great teacher in reminding me to PLAY, relax and go with the flow. I hope you can find the same joy and rejuvenation here.

We loved staying on the farm with all of the rescued animals. We even got to feed them. Our kids loved petting the animals and spending time on the farm. Host Shanna was very welcoming and kind. She even provided us firewood and helped with some electrical issues with our RV. Beautiful sanctuary farm away from the hustle and bustle! We are already looking forward to a return visit in the near future :)

We stayed here to celebrate my husband’s birthday with our 9-month-old, and it was such a wonderful experience. We loved that we could upgrade provisions, we used the propane tank for the fire pit and the pour-over coffee setup, which came with freshly roasted beans (amazing!). The whole place has this relaxing, no-nonsense vibe that we really appreciated. We went during the fall, and it was so beautiful seeing the vines changing color. The electric blanket made our night cozy and comfortable even when it got chilly. Aaron was outstanding. His hospitality, knowledge, and genuine passion for his craft really stood out. We enjoyed wine tasting, hanging out in the “vincade,” and my husband watched a bit of Monday Night Football! The wine was fantastic, and we were so impressed we ended up joining the wine club. The yurt was spacious and comfy, the bed was great, and there was plenty of room for our daughter to crawl around. The portapotty was clean, and everything felt thoughtfully maintained. Just an overall relaxing, memorable trip. Can’t wait to come back!

Weekend Trip to Ascension Ranch
I am writing this review to warn everyone that there is no longer a tent/yurt set up at Lovers Creek. When I asked the man about it, he said that a guest had brought the tent it wasn't included in the site, which is a lie if you look at all the reviews and pics there used to be a tent that stayed on the wooden platform. Luckily I brought my tent just in case so we didn't need to leave. The road getting onto his property is very narrow and beautiful and I wouldn't have been comfortable taking my car, I was glad to have a truck. The restroom is down at the "entrance" and a 10 min walk to the Lovers Creek site. We took the truck each time. There were cute animals to see on the property. Roads are very dusty! The best part about this place and the main reason I might come back is for the privacy. After check in, no one bothered us and the nearest campsite maybe 500 feet away across the other side.

Weekend Trip to Harris Family Farm and Forest
I loved camping in the apple orchard on Jane's farm! There was plenty of space for us to maneuver and park our trailer on the grass. We loved visiting the bake shop for apple donuts, caramel apples, and live music. Their flower garden is so colorful and we picked a pretty bouquet. We even had a small fire in the fire ring. I appreciated being able to have my dog with us too. Thank you and we look forward to coming back!

I loved camping here! You get the perfect scenery, apple orchards and Christmas trees. Such a great weekend! Jane and her whole team were so friendly and accommodating. To top it off we picked up fresh baked pie slices each night and brought back to the campsite to enjoy by the fire. Couldn’t recommend this place enough! We will be coming back for more trips in the future.

Jane's land is simply beautiful. We stayed at campsite 2 which was across the street from the farm and orchard in the tall pine trees. In mid October the weather was mostly sunny and warm during the day and lightly chilly at night. The camping areas in the forest are on a hill with a slight grade. I think site 4 may be a little more level and tucked away. We slept in our vehicles so no comment for tents, but it is uneven. There are super clean porta potties at the campsites. We had the area to ourselves on a Monday-Wednesday. Lots of trees for hammock hanging, soft pine covered earth, lots of fallen pine cones of all types. They are big and fall and could hurt so be wary of the sounds. It is by the road so there are some sounds, but not much especially in the evening hours. One evening we did see two tarantulas. Only other animals sighted were a hare, various birds and insects. The pie shop is cute and available to campers most days if they are busy baking. the mini pies and cupcakes are beautiful and delicious. Friendly hosts. Would return!

Dustin and Om's land, farm, Glampgalore retreat was perfect for our 4 month old's first camping experience. The tent was so cozy, thoughtfully decorated and organized with string lights, a comfortable bed, dresser, side table, and cooking wares. Our dogs had a blast walking the beautiful trails all around and we had the best time feeding acorns to the goats and the cutest pigs you will ever meet. Being followed around by a gaggle of chickens, guinea hens, ducks, and one curious turkey made our trip all the more sweet. Dustin and Om are the best hosts we have ever had on Hipcamp and we will definitely be back in the spring!

We overall enjoyed camping at this very private orchard! There was a pond right next to us! We saw lots of wild animals including a flock of quails, deer, ducks, and turkeys! The showers were extra charge but we did enjoy the warm water and nice shower after being out in the wilderness. Only complaint is that the toilet and shower room has two big windows that do not have any privacy covering so we felt exposed. Also the door to the laundry room didn’t close all the way so someone could accidentally walk in on you while you’re doing your business or showering. We just ended up changing in the shower which at least had curtains. Otherwise, nice camping spot!

We had a great stay at Harris Family Ranch! It’s just a short walk from the farm, where we enjoyed treats like apple cider doughnuts, fresh pie, and even picked our own apples. There was plenty to do—corn hole, live music, and a fun pumpkin patch that our kids loved. Although we were a little bummed we couldn’t have a campfire at our own site (understandable with forrest fire worries), the communal fire pit by the farm made up for it. We had a great time roasting marshmallows there with our kids. The porta potties were fairly clean and well-stocked, conveniently located right across from our campsite. Our only real complaint was that our site was on a slope—there was just one decently level spot for a tent, so our second tent ended up a bit tilted. Next time we might choose a different site. Other than that, it was a really fun and family-friendly experience, and we’d definitely come back.

We have 4 alpacas and about a dozen chickens, who free-range all over the farm. The farm is perched near the edge of the South Yuba River canyon at about 2100 ft elevation. We are "above the fog, and below the snow (usually)." Summers are hot and dry here. Daytime temps in July and August are typically in the 90s, and night time temps are in the 70s. Spring and Fall are our favorite seasons. There is, however, potable water, and the campsites are easy to access and relatively flat. Past our property, the unpaved, and very rough, section of Jones Bar Rd continues down into the South Yuba River canyon for about 2 miles, to a lovely swimming hole. Bicycling and hiking are very popular activities in this area. If you are bringing your dog with you on your travels, you will want to be aware of the many unpleasant sticker weeds that are prevalent everywhere around here. Foxtails, filaree, and hitch-hiker weeds will all find their way into your dog’s fur. The farm is about 6 miles from both Nevada City and Grass Valley. Both towns have lively and interesting down-towns with good shopping and restaurants.

We have lived on the farm now for over 21 years. The back part of the property was a stop point for the stage line between Oroville and Bangor during the 1880, Then gold was discovered on the property. There were multiple Gold claims on this property. The Old rock pilings are still there to explore. It is a favorite spot for finding Jasper, some Agates and quartz. Campers are welcome year-round to this tent site on the old Gold Claim of our 20-acre family farm! Drive right up to this fun-filled, family-friendly campsite, easily accessible by cars and SUVs alike - though 4WD is helpful during the rainy season. This site features two seasonal streams that cross on the property, as well as bushes full of ripe blackberries - if you catch them at the right time, help yourself. You'll enjoy hearing the birds echoing through the trees and could easily see deer tip toeing through the woods. Dogs on leash only. We raise 4H and FFA show and market goats, llamas, and a donkey and a cow, all of whom are very friendly! You'll also see our chickens, ducks, peacocks, and guinea hens. Rock pilings are on the island between the two seasonal streams that cross our land. Gold panning, hiking and creek walking is available on the property. Campers are welcome to stargaze in the field, create scavenger hunts for the kids, or simply sit back and enjoy the tranquility. The streams dry up in late June and fill up in November when the rains start. Trank Family Farm is 30 minutes from Lake Oroville, 20 minutes from Oroville Wildlife Area and the Feather River - great for kayaking, swimming, and fishing! Be sure to check out the trails and seasonal waterfalls at Table Mountain, 35 minutes away. There are 2 Indian Casinos & Hotels in Oroville, as well as 2 golf ranges - and all with in 20 minutes of the camp site. The college town of Chico is about 30 minutes outside of Oroville. If you want to explore farther, Butte Mountain range and the city of Paradise, CA is 45 minutes away. We can't wait for you to come visit!

There is a large fenced dog park specifically for the dogs to be able to run safely! Location: Our location is a 12 min straight shot off the Hwy 50 exit. We are a stones throw from Folsom Lake. 12 mins to Sweetwater Creek Trail parking lot, Acorn Creek Trail parking, Skunk Hallow Trail head. 15 mins to Granite Bay Recreation Area and walking trails. We are a 5 min drive to restaurants, gas station (diesel #2 available) and shopping. Perfect stop for bike packers headed towards Pilot Hill. Things to do in the area: Bike the American river bike trail which is 32 mi long, explore Folsom Lake by stand-up paddle board or swimming from the many entry points within minutes of the property. There are MILES of hiking trails within minutes, explore historic downtown Folsom, go wine tasting at the 20+ local wineries, pick fresh fruit and vegetables at the local farms. White water rafting in Lotus/ Coloma is only 25 mins away. Granite Bay state beach is 15 mins.

With 900 feet elevation change throughout the land makes for very dramatic views but makes for an exerting 30min hike down the canyon so not appropriate for people with low mobility. Come prepared for a rugged but exclusive experience. When it's to busy at the Bridgeport state parks, keep going 2 miles and come here. This really is a Yuba lover's Shangri-La. Stay in one of our 3 teak wood Bali huts, bring your Sprinter van or pitch a tent in one our our numerous scattered camping spots by the big meadow. This is dry camping so bring water and your kitchen. A porta party is provided near the yurt. Be mindful of poison oak and please dive 10mph on the gravel road to keep dust down for my neighbors and enjoy the only privets south yuba river access in Hipcamp responsibly. Pack out what you lack in and absolutely no open fire on the property. Propane grill are fine. If you’re adventurous minded this doesn’t disappoint.
