Campfires are permitted in designated fire pits only and may be subject to fire bans. Firewood and ice are available for purchase (cash preferred).
Recycling bins are provided, otherwise campers are required to take their rubbish with them. Wi-Fi and Telstra coverage are available.
Rainforest Gateway is located approximately 8klms along Grady's Creek Road, just 20 klms north of Kyogle and 15 klms from the Queensland border on the popular scenic tourist route, Lions Road. Kyogle is a bustling town with an IGA supermarket, MTB riding tracks, lovely gift shops, cinema, bowling alley, and a selection of dining outlets. For those wanting to immerse themselves in nature, the Border Ranges National Park is a short drive away.
Please note Lions Road is temporarily closed for road repairs and expected to be reopened late January 2026. We can still be reached on Gradys Creek Road off Summerland Way, ignore Google maps if it directs you to Lynches Creek Rd.

Aggressive, disruptive, or potentially dangerous dogs of any type are not allowed — especially restricted breeds (e.g. Pit Bulls, Bull Mastiffs). Only friendly dogs are permitted, and we reserve the right to ask you to leave if your dog is deemed unsafe or aggressive upon arrival. If you have any doubts, please message us prior to booking.
Also, please ensure kids are supervised at all times, particularly around the river. Lifejackets are recommended.
During your time here, visit the local farm gates in Tumut, Batlow, Tumbarumba, and Adelong for their delicious high-country produce. There are also some beautiful swimming spots and walks to discover in the region, as well as good facilities in town, including the local swimming pool and shopping centre. Enjoy a local brew and bite to eat at the Tumut brewery. Bahwidgee is just 3km from the Tumut town centre - so close you could ride in, or even walk.

Your adventure begins at the entrance, marked by “Rusty,” our old sugarcane harvester — a true piece of local history and a favourite photo stop.
The winding driveway leads you through the paddocks, past different cane varieties and grazing horses and cattle. The front horse paddock will soon become our upgraded camp kitchen and guest area, and we’re excited to keep improving the space while staying true to the farm’s heritage.
Life on the Farm
Days here follow the rhythm of the land and the river. Wander through the cane, taste sweet juice straight from the stalk, and see how sugarcane is grown and harvested. Enjoy bike riding, walking trails, quiet fishing spots, and kayaking or canoeing straight from the property. The Ashby Creek swimming hole offers a calm, sheltered place for a refreshing dip.
Life on the River
This part of the Clarence is famous for water skiing, boating, and long, glassy stretches perfect for exploring. The fishing here is excellent, with calm water and plenty of great spots right from the property. We often boat across to Maclean for supplies, giving guests a real taste of river life.
The sunsets here are something else — short, stunning bursts of colour that light up the whole river and paddocks. As the sun drops, the sky turns gold, pink, and deep orange, and the Clarence reflects it all like glass. It’s a quiet, peaceful moment where everything slows down and the whole farm glows.
Exploring the Clarence Valley
There’s plenty to do nearby — enjoy a meal at the Harwood Hotel, stop for morning tea on Chatsworth Island, or join in local favourites like the Maclean Cane Harvest Festival, Maclean Highland Gathering, Yamba, Iluka and Brooms head famous beaches and the Grafton Races. Brooman rests approximately half way between Ulladulla and Batemans Bay on the fresh water section of the Clyde River. The property stretches south on both sides of the river from the Old Sawmill Town located at its northern end.
Brooman is a working farm and encompasses lots of beautiful spaces, restored old buildings, two small mountains, fertile river flats, native forests, grasslands, deep water holes, tree covered rapid sections of river and sweeping views.
Brooman is less than 30 minutes drive to some of the most beautiful beaches on the south coast. Shallow Crossing is 10 minutes to the south. North is Pigeon House car park, Yadboro and the base of The Castle. To the West there are hundreds of kilometres of Forestry and National Park roads through some of the most spectacular forested mountain country east of the Coastal Range.
The Clyde River Berry Farm is just minutes down the road. Local fish and chips, great coffee and handmade bread is 25mins drive at Burrill Lake. Some of the best restaurants and bars on the coast are less than 40 minutes drive at Milton and Mollymook.

Nestled right up against the escarpment at an elevation of 450m, this high-end, off-grid 40 acre property effectively offers your own private slice of Macquarie Pass National Park - amazing views, giant cedar trees, fern forests, cascading waterfalls and palms surround.
It feels remote but it's only 90 min from Sydney, 30 min to Kiama and just 15 min to the shops. The property also offers the only hiking path up to the top of the escarpment for some truly amazing views.
As of September 2025, many of the trails on the property have been degraded by the rains and are now challenging for 2WD cars. If you're towing or it's wet we recommend AWD or 4WD vehicles.
Since this is coastal rainforest and it has been very wet, expect leeches anywhere it is damp. These are easily kept at bay with deet and or trousers tucked into socks.
We're not particularly price sensitive - until all those rate rises - but we are extremely value sensitive so we set out to make your stay extremely good value for your hard earned money. The land itself does most of the heavy lifting but also personal service and of course there's Lana to fall in love with.
Note, Mellows Rd is 2.6km long and rises 400m - in parts the road is a 15 degree grade. It's all paved but narrow so if you are towing a large heavy load, it's going to strain your car.

Campers are encouraged to meander along the continually changing River and explore its many secluded swimming holes and enjoy the abundant wildlife that cohabitates with the Angus/Wagyu cow herd. Direct access to the neighbouring National Parks and State Forests offers an array of day trips to hikers, mountain bikers, or horse riders where they can discover the natural treasures of Basket Swamp and Boonoo Boonoo Falls, Woolool Woolooni, among others.
For those who require a little more comfort, and lets face it we all do at times, the Mindoo Cabin is available. Featuring three bedrooms, open plan living/dining/kitchen,and a shady deck overlooking the River the cabin sleeps eight and still allows visitors to partake in all the adventures that "Mindoo" offers with the benefit of a comfortable rest when the day is done.
Unfortunately horse riding is no longer covered by our insurance policy. You are able to bring your horses, however evidence of your own insurance policy must be provided.
Be as adventurous or as restful as you please as both options are freely available. Mountain Biking, Hiking, or just riding your hammock and relaxing we are sure you will enjoy your time at "Mindoo". All of our river sites are designated and are space apart.
As most of our sites are on the river and have farm tracks to access, if it is wet we may have to move you to a different site. 4wds are recommended for all sites and are required for some site. Please read the listing for the campsite you are wanting to book. Some of our sites do not suit caravans. All roads require high clearance vans.
If you do not like dogs or your own dogs are not very sociable Mindoo may not be the place for you. Daisy the Doodle (Golden Retriever/Poodle) and Paul the Pig Dog (a very gentle Bull Mastif/Catahoula) like to come and say hello to campers at The Park & The Junction.

Nestled in the beautiful rainforest of Commissioners Creek, Trickling Waters Retreat is a peaceful sanctuary where forest, water, and wildlife come together to create a truly grounding escape. Our land offers a blend of comfort and raw natural beauty.
If you're after loud music and late-night vibes, this probably isn't the right fit. Guests come here to unwind and enjoy the peaceful sounds of nature so we ask that noise is kept low and loud music isn't permitted.
Wake to birdsong, fall asleep to the soft rush of the creek, wander through open grassy spaces, or relax by the water’s edge. The creek flows year-round sometimes deep enough for a refreshing dip, and other times shallow, cool, and perfect for wading, creek-walking, or just sitting with your feet in the water while listening to the trees.
In the evenings, gather around your private fire pit, , each site offers a unique fire pit experience ( firewood is available at the property for $20 per bag) , perfect for slow conversations, warm or cold drinks, and unwinding by the glow of the flames. letting the stars take over the sky. It’s a quiet, peaceful spot where guests often tell us their minds finally stop racing.
We currently offer a spacious secluded glamping tent overlooking the creek, plus beautifully spread-out grassy areas ideal for campers seeking a true nature experience. Guests also have access to our modern amenities pavilion, hot shower, flushing toilet, and a shared outdoor wash-up area to make your stay effortless.
Whether you’re a couple seeking a romantic nature getaway, solo traveller wanting space to think, or small group looking to unplug and breathe again, Trickling Waters Retreat offers a calm, memorable escape on one of Commissioners Creek’s most serene pockets of land.

The property rests on the shoulder on Mt Nellinda on nineteen hectares of land, there are one large Greenhouse where we grow potted flowers and some veggies, also several large dams which are used for irrigation and act as a Sanctury for our geese, best of all are the views. The perfect spot for relaxing next to a fire and listening to the Frogs and nightlife and waking to the sounds of kookaburras and bird life, Lots of Rock Wallabies in the evenings and early mornings.
Dog friendly, no leads required, portable toilets in the multiple Camp site 1 and an older style toilet in the camping area 2, fresh water available only next to the portable toilets camping area 1. also included is a camp kitchen with fridge, kettle microwave etc for your convenience. Check with host regarding campfires.
Please DO NOT invite friends and relatives to your campsite without first notifying Host. (little curtesy goes a long way)

Range of six camping areas.
CAMP 1 allows up to 14 or more campsites to include caravans, motor homes, large or small. tents etc. with flat and slightly flat areas and close to the roadway dead end street.
CAMP 2 allows up to eight or more smaller caravans tents rooftops etc also with some flatter areas.
CAMP 3 is a private in the bush area and will cater for five or so rooftops tents, difficult for caravans or large vehicles.
CAMP 4 smaller possibly two tents or rooftops secluded in the bush.
CAMP 5 similar to camp 3 in the bush and completely private great for a get together with friends.
CAMP 6 is the very top of the mountain with a long wide strip of cleared area with bush on both sides and a window at the end to the valley below, very private, must be fully contained and would suit most vehicles, may lose traction if pulling a heavy caravan or trailer.

We really enjoyed our stay in the Luxury Glamping tent at Ballina Beach Nature Resort. 🤎⛺️🐾
The tent was spacious, comfortable and such a nice change from our usual camping setup. We loved the four-poster bed, having our own bathroom and kitchen facilities, and being able to relax with the dogs nearby.
It was peaceful, dog-friendly and a lovely spot to slow down. We especially enjoyed sitting outside, having a campfire and being close to the beach.
Everything was easy from check-in through to our stay, and we’d happily stay again. A beautiful little glamping option if you still want that outdoor feel with a few extra comforts. 🐾🤎

Allan's Place was perfectly cozy, gorgeously decorated and very well equipped. The balcony made the space feel even larger, allowing for wonderful outdoor living. Access to a private outdoor shower with hot water and a short walk to shared toilets on the property. The grounds are beautifully kept and perfect for exploring. Pets are welcomed are are sure to love OKA!
Kellie and Rod are wonderful hosts and are happy to help with any questions you have during your stay. I highly recommend Allan's Place to any single or couple wanting a peaceful, relaxing retreat!

Weekend Trip to The Nile Farmstay
‘The Nile’ is an absolutely amazing property in the phenomenal Capertee Valley.
We booked a campsite and also this cabin for my parents and it was fantastic.
The cabin was beautifully appointed, very comfortable in the middle of winter, quite handy to our campsite for walking but completely private.
We are planning on coming back and using the cabin ourselves when it’s a little bit warmer so we can try the outdoor fire spa!!!

We recently stayed in one of the luxury glamping tents at Ballina Beach Nature Resort and had a fantastic experience. The tent was spacious, comfortable, air-conditioned and well equipped, offering the perfect balance between camping and luxury. The resort itself is surrounded by beautiful coastal bushland with easy access to the beach, creating a peaceful and relaxing atmosphere. Staff were friendly and welcoming throughout our stay. If you’re looking for a relaxing getaway close to nature without sacrificing comfort, I would highly recommend the luxury glamping tents. Would definitely stay again

We enjoyed our night in the bell tent and waking up to sounds of the lyrebirds! My boys loved riding in the wheeled cart provided to help us get our gear up the small hill from our car. there were other campers on the property but as each campsite is on a different level of the escarpment- like a terrace- it was still private. Ian was friendly, welcoming and responsive and we also enjoyed the hot tub add-on! Only 7 minutes into town and close to a golf course that my partner enjoyed.

Weekend Trip to Mellows Ridge
Beautiful, quiet spot. The host was lovely and he really had thought of everything, from a spa, to providing firewood, even added a sensor light to the bathroom for night time. Could come and go as we pleased and had the whole place to ourselves.
Bed was comfy, no complaints at all.
And in case anyone’s wondering, yes the dog in the photos is part of the experience 😂 she’ll come down to play fetch she’s a very good girl.

It was one of the decent camping i ever have. All facilities are convenient, nice hosts(includes host’s daughter lol), genuinely clean and neat. I checked in a bit late but still kindly instruct me everything I need to know. Great milk, cave walk, bush walk. Everything was perfectly fit for camping beginner to expert. I would recommend and 100% coming back for exploring more :)

We stayed in the luxury family Safari tent and loved it! Super comfy bed, our girls loved the bunk beds, and everything just had a great quality feel about it. Limited cooking options (just a microwave and BBQ) but we got by with that.
Was a very short walk to the beach, and the pool/slides/cafe/bar were great.
Also, staff were really friendly - thank you, Colin!
Only thing to note is that although the park is very dog friendy, the beach right out front is not - so if we wanted to take the dog for a run on the beach, we had to drive to Patches Beach which is around 15 minute drive away.
