You will have access to pit toilets (3) otherwise, please BYO facilities. Small campfires are welcome in the fire pits provided, or BYO firepit (permitting there are no restrictions in place at the time). Firewood can be purchased at the time of booking.
We’re pet-friendly! Please note, however, that we are a working farm with ongoing activities and resident animals, including livestock and farm dogs, so all pets must be kept under control at all times. Aggressive, disruptive, or potentially dangerous dogs of any type are not allowed — especially restricted breeds (e.g. Pit Bulls, Bull Mastiffs). Only friendly dogs are permitted, and we reserve the right to ask you to leave if your dog is deemed unsafe or aggressive upon arrival. If you have any doubts, please message us prior to booking.
Also, please ensure kids are supervised at all times, particularly around the river. Lifejackets are recommended.
During your time here, visit the local farm gates in Tumut, Batlow, Tumbarumba, and Adelong for their delicious high-country produce. There are also some beautiful swimming spots and walks to discover in the region, as well as good facilities in town, including the local swimming pool and shopping centre. Enjoy a local brew and bite to eat at the Tumut brewery. Bahwidgee is just 3km from the Tumut town centre - so close you could ride in, or even walk.

Framed by the rugged border range National Parks "Mindoo" is 1100 acres of rolling green hills dissected by the pure, cascading, waters of the Cataract River which provide a number of private riverside campsites. Campers are encouraged to meander along the continually changing River and explore its many secluded swimming holes and enjoy the abundant wildlife that cohabitates with the Angus/Wagyu cow herd. Direct access to the neighbouring National Parks and State Forests offers an array of day trips to hikers, mountain bikers, or horse riders where they can discover the natural treasures of Basket Swamp and Boonoo Boonoo Falls, Woolool Woolooni, among others.
For those who require a little more comfort, and lets face it we all do at times, the Mindoo Cabin is available. Featuring three bedrooms, open plan living/dining/kitchen,and a shady deck overlooking the River the cabin sleeps eight and still allows visitors to partake in all the adventures that "Mindoo" offers with the benefit of a comfortable rest when the day is done.
Unfortunately horse riding is no longer covered by our insurance policy. You are able to bring your horses, however evidence of your own insurance policy must be provided.
Be as adventurous or as restful as you please as both options are freely available. Mountain Biking, Hiking, or just riding your hammock and relaxing we are sure you will enjoy your time at "Mindoo". All of our river sites are designated and are space apart.
As most of our sites are on the river and have farm tracks to access, if it is wet we may have to move you to a different site. 4wds are recommended for all sites and are required for some site. Please read the listing for the campsite you are wanting to book. Some of our sites do not suit caravans. All roads require high clearance vans.
If you do not like dogs or your own dogs are not very sociable Mindoo may not be the place for you. Daisy the Doodle (Golden Retriever/Poodle) and Paul the Pig Dog (a very gentle Bull Mastif/Catahoula) like to come and say hello to campers at The Park & The Junction.

The winding driveway leads you through the paddocks, past different cane varieties and grazing horses and cattle. The front horse paddock will soon become our upgraded camp kitchen and guest area, and we’re excited to keep improving the space while staying true to the farm’s heritage.
Life on the Farm
Days here follow the rhythm of the land and the river. Wander through the cane, taste sweet juice straight from the stalk, and see how sugarcane is grown and harvested. Enjoy bike riding, walking trails, quiet fishing spots, and kayaking or canoeing straight from the property. The Ashby Creek swimming hole offers a calm, sheltered place for a refreshing dip.
Life on the River
This part of the Clarence is famous for water skiing, boating, and long, glassy stretches perfect for exploring. The fishing here is excellent, with calm water and plenty of great spots right from the property. We often boat across to Maclean for supplies, giving guests a real taste of river life.
The sunsets here are something else — short, stunning bursts of colour that light up the whole river and paddocks. As the sun drops, the sky turns gold, pink, and deep orange, and the Clarence reflects it all like glass. It’s a quiet, peaceful moment where everything slows down and the whole farm glows.
Exploring the Clarence Valley
There’s plenty to do nearby — enjoy a meal at the Harwood Hotel, stop for morning tea on Chatsworth Island, or join in local favourites like the Maclean Cane Harvest Festival, Maclean Highland Gathering, Yamba, Iluka and Brooms head famous beaches and the Grafton Races. The Clarence Valley is full of character, history, and country charm.

Campfires are permitted in designated fire pits only and may be subject to fire bans. Firewood and ice are available for purchase (cash preferred).
Recycling bins are provided, otherwise campers are required to take their rubbish with them. Wi-Fi and Telstra coverage are available.
Rainforest Gateway is located approximately 8klms along Grady's Creek Road, just 20 klms north of Kyogle and 15 klms from the Queensland border on the popular scenic tourist route, Lions Road. Kyogle is a bustling town with an IGA supermarket, MTB riding tracks, lovely gift shops, cinema, bowling alley, and a selection of dining outlets. For those wanting to immerse themselves in nature, the Border Ranges National Park is a short drive away.
Please note Lions Road is temporarily closed for road repairs and expected to be reopened late January 2026. We can still be reached on Gradys Creek Road off Summerland Way, ignore Google maps if it directs you to Lynches Creek Rd.

The property rests on the shoulder on Mt Nellinda on nineteen hectares of land, there are one large Greenhouse where we grow potted flowers and some veggies, also several large dams which are used for irrigation and act as a Sanctury for our geese, best of all are the views. The perfect spot for relaxing next to a fire and listening to the Frogs and nightlife and waking to the sounds of kookaburras and bird life, Lots of Rock Wallabies in the evenings and early mornings.
Dog friendly, no leads required, portable toilets in the multiple Camp site 1 and an older style toilet in the camping area 2, fresh water available only next to the portable toilets camping area 1. also included is a camp kitchen with fridge, kettle microwave etc for your convenience. Check with host regarding campfires.
Please DO NOT invite friends and relatives to your campsite without first notifying Host. (little curtesy goes a long way)

Range of six camping areas.
CAMP 1 allows up to 14 or more campsites to include caravans, motor homes, large or small. tents etc. with flat and slightly flat areas and close to the roadway dead end street.
CAMP 2 allows up to eight or more smaller caravans tents rooftops etc also with some flatter areas.
CAMP 3 is a private in the bush area and will cater for five or so rooftops tents, difficult for caravans or large vehicles.
CAMP 4 smaller possibly two tents or rooftops secluded in the bush.
CAMP 5 similar to camp 3 in the bush and completely private great for a get together with friends.
CAMP 6 is the very top of the mountain with a long wide strip of cleared area with bush on both sides and a window at the end to the valley below, very private, must be fully contained and would suit most vehicles, may lose traction if pulling a heavy caravan or trailer.

Grady’s Riverside Retreat was first established in 1979. The retreat is located 20 minutes west of Nowra and is set on 17 secluded acres on the banks of the beautiful Shoalhaven River, surrounded by natural bushland, mountains, cliffs and dairy pastures. This makes Grady’s Riverside Retreat an ideal place to bring your friends and family to relax, unwind and enjoy the scenery. Grady’s has over 500 metres of direct access to the Shoalhaven River. The river is deep and also is tidal which means we have a large variety of fresh and saltwater fish that inhabit these waters. Majority of our well maintained grassy sites are located along the river or have uninterrupted river views. With a boat ramp and beach areas for you to utilise at your leisure.
Grady's is a pet friendly Retreat and we also allow campfires. We strongly believe these few extra things are essential to create a true camping experience.
The park grounds are well maintained throughout the year. The amenities are fresh and cleaned daily. If you are the adventurous type there are many activities to offer in the vicinity such as canoeing, fishing, swimming, bushwalks, 4WDriving, bike riding, jet skiing, water skiing and much more. -The picturesque banks of the Shoalhaven River play host to the perfect escape from the burdens of city life. Only 2 hours from Sydney but feels like a world away. We really enjoyed our stay in the Luxury Glamping tent at Ballina Beach Nature Resort. 🤎⛺️🐾
The tent was spacious, comfortable and such a nice change from our usual camping setup. We loved the four-poster bed, having our own bathroom and kitchen facilities, and being able to relax with the dogs nearby.
It was peaceful, dog-friendly and a lovely spot to slow down. We especially enjoyed sitting outside, having a campfire and being close to the beach.
Everything was easy from check-in through to our stay, and we’d happily stay again. A beautiful little glamping option if you still want that outdoor feel with a few extra comforts. 🐾🤎

Allan's Place was perfectly cozy, gorgeously decorated and very well equipped. The balcony made the space feel even larger, allowing for wonderful outdoor living. Access to a private outdoor shower with hot water and a short walk to shared toilets on the property. The grounds are beautifully kept and perfect for exploring. Pets are welcomed are are sure to love OKA!
Kellie and Rod are wonderful hosts and are happy to help with any questions you have during your stay. I highly recommend Allan's Place to any single or couple wanting a peaceful, relaxing retreat!

We recently stayed in one of the luxury glamping tents at Ballina Beach Nature Resort and had a fantastic experience. The tent was spacious, comfortable, air-conditioned and well equipped, offering the perfect balance between camping and luxury. The resort itself is surrounded by beautiful coastal bushland with easy access to the beach, creating a peaceful and relaxing atmosphere. Staff were friendly and welcoming throughout our stay. 1 night at Petaurus Gardens
Would 100% recommend!!! Tents are spacious, clean, warm and protected from the rain. The bed was super comfortable. They have toilets and showers with cold and warm water. Bedding, towels and firewood was provided on the property along with tea and coffee for the morning. Really easy to access and the property manager is a lovely person. Honestly can't go wrong!!

Had such a lovely stay here! Chris was incredibly friendly and welcoming, and the campsite had everything we needed, including hot water which was a big plus. The river right next to the camp was beautiful — we went kayaking and had an awesome time. The fire pit at night was definitely a highlight too, such a nice vibe to just relax and enjoy the surroundings. Super peaceful, well looked after, and a great spot to unwind. Would definitely recommend 😊

Weekend Trip to Petaurus Gardens
Really enjoyable stay for 2 nights.
We stayed in one of the tents and everything was really well presented. They have a little camp kitchen where you can cook on the bbq and sit undercover and enjoy your meal.
Great hot water in the showers and 2 toilets.
The property is quiet and you can walk it or ride some bikes which are available. Also have kayaks for use on the creek
Highly recommend.

Weekend Trip to Hedley Hideaways - Thompson's camp
This hut was a great spot for a couple to join in with a group camp for someone that’s not a fan of camping. The hut has cooking facilities, a very comfortable bed, an electric fire as well as air conditioning and a great ensuite out the back with an amazing shower that some 5 star hotels could learn from. Seats on the balcony received a lot of use as well as the shade during the day for the whole group camp to gather under. The only thing to further improve the hut experience would be a bbq out on the verandah but other than, what an amazing stay.

Weekend Trip to Wattle Valley Farm
It was one of the decent camping i ever have. All facilities are convenient, nice hosts(includes host’s daughter lol), genuinely clean and neat. I checked in a bit late but still kindly instruct me everything I need to know. Great milk, cave walk, bush walk. Everything was perfectly fit for camping beginner to expert. I would recommend and 100% coming back for exploring more :)
