Mt Calm and Peace, Texas

This property was once owned by an old gentleman who was blind, in the early 1900’s. Despite his inability to see , he was an avid farmer and Gardner. He raised cattle and vegetables, and we were told , grew tobacco and hung it in the old shed to dry. Legend has it, he would plow his field on a tractor with a cane. Yes , as he neared the end of the row, he stick his cane out until it touched the barbed wire fence. Then he knew to turn around to go back up the field to return again to the end. As legend has it told!
