The view at our site was amazing! No problems with the boondocking. My only suggestion would be the use of more signage. We arrived late so the office was closed. We didn’t know where to go and it took a while to figure out where our spot was located. Other than that, it was very nice.

Canyon Camp!
Second largest canyon in the US! Fantastic views and had boondocking land to ourselves! Incredible lightning storm in the evening, breezy overnight and complete serenity in the morning! Thank you for hosting us!

Nice location offroad trails were fun, maybe I am just a wuss but beginner felt more like intermediate. Nice view from the full hookup sites. It is a bit away from civilization so don't be like me and top off your fuel before you really start going out there. Wish we lived closer because I think we would frequently visit.

Stunning view!
After driving through Texas towards Amarillo, I was uninspired with the flat terrain until I got to my Hipcamp spot. After checking in, they told me I could drive down the road to the end for the best view of Palo Duro Canyon and camp there for the night. It was absolutely beautiful. The stars were brilliant that night. I would definitely come here again.

Good customer care
A representative from Merus called the day of our booking to tell us we couldn’t get into the gate after 5 pm. We we’re having tires checked and knew we wouldn’t make it on time. Since we were only staying one night they told us to camp on the grass at the members ‘ entrance. That worked out well for us. We hope to get back another time and explore the park and its offerings.

Overall it is a lovely park and the hosts/staff are very kind and helpful. The boondocking site is very exposed with zero privacy. It was so windy on my night there I couldn't do anything outside but take a few short exploratory walks. Not their fault but it does get oppressively windy sometimes.

Unfortunately, I can't give a full review. Due to a major windstorm on our original camp night we didn't use our reservations. The camp hosts were very understanding and rolled our reservation forward. I didn't even need to request this accommodation! And then for our revised reservation there was a torrential rainstorm so we had to bail out again. We will try again next time we're in this area of Texas - they were super friendly and helpful!

Great view,great hikes,good people!
Our 3 day stay was a last minute decision and what a great one!
We had a chance to park in an amazing spot overlooking the Palo Duro Canyon, enjoyed multiple hikes, great sunset, the star-filled night sky and quiet, serene environment.
For 25$ a night/ we received more than expected. The people at the office were great and very generous for hiking and future travelling tips. I would recommend 100%!

Beautiful site
Absolutely beautiful site. Well worth the price. I’ve paid way more to stay in awful spots. The workers here were amazing. Wasn’t a worker but I didn’t have enough gas to get to the nearest gas station and one of the overlanders that was out there lended me enough to get to the nearest town. Had an amazing time.

A very pleasant surprise.
As we approached MERUS Adventure on its several-mile dirt road, we thought, "What kind of mistake did we make?" However, this was a remarkable spot to camp in our trailer. We arrived just after sunset, but the canyon was still remarkably beautiful. We only stayed one night, but we loved this place. The bathroom was toasty warm, one of the best I have encountered, and spotlessly clean.

Awesome Canyon Access
Great canyon views without a crowded camp ground! Lots of dispersed camping options available if you have 4 wheel drive. We did the standard hook up option since we didn’t have 4WD. They were very friendly & we enjoyed our trip & having access to their own personal part of the canyon & just a short drive to PDC State Park.

This appears to be Mostly for atv over roading type campers. They advertise glamping but there is nothing glamping about it. Not for the avg camper. No trees. All dirt. We didn’t end up staying once we got there. Very disappointed in how it is represented.

Thr gates to the park apparently closes at 6:00 and you cannot enter. Hipcamp should not have allowed this booking. Be careful when booking with Hipcamp they are false advertising

Nice, quite, clean
We went for one night in Mid August. It was hot in our tent but not raining so we were able to view the stars with no light pollution. The shower facilities are nice and clean. We has reserved Spot #3 but since no one else was camping there that night they allowed us to pick any site, we chose #11 as to seemed to have one of the more pleasant views.

We came for the views, but we'll be back for the adventure! We'd had a long drive up from central Texas and this was such a delightful spot to rest for the night before continuing our journey. All of us wished we could stay longer. The sunset was spectacular. Molly was super friendly, communicative prior to our arrival, and helpful once we got there. Our spot was at the end of the full RV hook up row, so a great spot to see the sun rise over the Palo Duro Canyon and the Llano Estacado. This felt like a completely non-touristy, but quintessentially Texan thing to experience.

Awesome spot!!!
Probably one of my favorite spots I’ve ever camped.
They company made sure to call me before hand. And because no one was staying at a spot they offered me an awesome spot probably the best spot on the camp ground.
Beautiful views, you would never know a canyon like that was there if you were just driving through Claude. I will absolutely be returning.
The showers and bathrooms at the front main office are about 1-2 miles from the finger points. Clean and very useful.
11/10 stay.

Beautiful vistas with biting flies
The campsite is amazingly located at the edge of the canyon, which is spectacular. The birdsong is sweet and peaceful. However, when we visited in June the biting flies were horrible and I couldn't even be outdoors. This is probably due to the amount of rain received prior to our visit. Since we were there to ride the mountain bike trails, that was a problem. Plus the trails are not well maintained. If you are going there to do off road jeep tours I'm sure it will be a lot more fun.

This property is a hidden gem!!!! Actually, that’s an understatement. This property is a full hidden treasure. Canyon views are spectacular, and the sunrise and sunsets are breathtaking. I would go back here in a flash!

The full hookup campgrounds have a lot of space and a great view of the canyon. The hiking trails and main office are quickly accessible. We loved taking our 4x4 vehicle into the canyon with their vehicle pass and enjoying some offroading adventures while also walking the hiking trials with our family. Great place to stay and find some good adventures. The closest grocery and town is 20 min away, and then Amarillo is about 50 min away. Thank you to the MERUS staff being so kind and accommodating!
