This small 25-acre ranch is just in the early stages of development. We are repairing fences and watering. I just added solar power and several electrical upgrades for RV's. The property has a 2000 feet of grass runway with an airplane hangar, so you could fly it if you have a STOHL airplane. The irrigation pond/pond yard area is currently available for camping. Many wineries, brewies and outdoor activities available in the area. Children can help feed or water the pigs and perhaps the chickens. Be aware though when piglets are around at times they are very small and are amazing escaped artists so do not keep food out unless you want to try and pet one they are friendly. We are more than happy to help suggest wineries and brewies in the area or enjoy the bar area we have! We offer several campsites as well as an in-ground greenhouse as listings. We live in a beautiful location! The main attraction is the outdoors. The large Ponderosa pines and oak trees surrounding the safari tent fill the air with a scent that some say smells like vanilla. Birds chirp, deer graze, and squirrels gather food throughout the day. Sit on the porch and watch it all happen—it truly is relaxing! I want to mention that the stargazing here is amazing! Simply press the power button on the back of the solar panel to turn off the lights for a better view of the night sky. Please turn them back on when you're finished, if you remember. Be sure to visit Goldendale Observatory. It boasts one of the largest public telescopes in the nation, and admission is free. Guest Access The property is located on 20 private wooded acres. You may surprised at how loud peace and quiet can be. Whether it's the prehistoric sound of sandhill cranes, a serenade of coyotes, elk talking, hoots of great horned owls or a simple chorus of frogs and crickets; if you enjoy being immersed in the sounds of nature then come and enjoy. "The Refuge" abuts Conboy Lake National Wildlife Refuge so be sure to bring your binoculars or spotting scope. Elk, sandhills, coyotes and deer are frequent visitors to the property, bear and bobcats occasionally. If you just can't sit still and relax, we are only 16 miles from BZ Corners and the white water opportunities of the Big White Salmon River, 12 miles from the Leidl boat ramp on the Klickitat River and 16 miles from the town of Trout Lake and all the recreation opportunities to be found in the Gifford Pinchot. If it wasn't for the view (and it is awesome!), the site would be rather unimpressive. It's level gravel driveway with water, a 50/20 RV hookup and dump that sits between an unoccupied house and large shop that we may occasionally visit. A fire pit is available. Need leeway on party size, check in time or something else...message me and we'll see what we can do. Reality Check Exhaust brakes. This is timber country; during the week early morning truck traffic can be expected. Traffic is always very light, but it only takes one exhaust brake at 4:00 am to remind me of the crazy hours loggers work. Mosquitos. Conboy Lake is really a great big seasonal marsh and the mozzies can be a moderate annoyance at times. As a seasoned camper, I would rate them only slightly above a "run of the mill" nuisance even during peak times . Let it shine! The hook up site is exposed. Mid August, 4:00 pm, 100 degrees out...you'll want an awning or AC. Consider "The Oaks" under add-ons as an option, or message me to discuss. Darned hosts. We're your nearest neighbors, about a 1000 yards away, mostly obscured but visible. We're pretty quite, but sounds of life may occasionally drift your way. Sometimes mowing has to done and the dog always barks briefly at UPS or when we come home. If we interrupt your illusion of seclusion it will only be briefly. No trash service. Pack it in, pack it out. Thanks! Cell service is sketchy.

Want the off-grid feeling without giving up all the comforts of home? Come stay at our little retired DNR Fire Watch Cabin in Trout Lake, WA, tucked right at the foot of Mt. Adams. The cabin sleeps up to 2 adults and 2 kids, with a queen bed and a fold-out cot tucked underneath. It's true off-grid, with solar and battery lights and propane heat, but you're not totally roughing it. Just a short walk to the barn you'll find a full bathroom with shower and a kitchenette (fridge, microwave, coffee pot, air fryer), reserved just for cabin guests. There's a porta-potty right next to the cabin too, so no midnight walks to the barn. We provide all linens and towels and can set you up with some basic cooking utensils if you need. There's a barbecue right outside your cabin for your use, plus a fire pit (campfires welcome whenever there's no burn ban - we are in one right now Aug-Sept). This is an off grid cabin, and thus there is no AC. We have installed screens on the windows so they all can be opened, but it can It can get quite warm there when it gets into the 80s. Please consider this when making your booking during higher temperature seasons. You're not just near the outdoors here. You're at the front door of the Gifford Pinchot National Forest, 1.3 million acres of old-growth forest, alpine lakes, lava tubes, and glaciers wrapped around Mt. Adams. Here's what that looks like season to season from our front yard: Summer: Prime time in the forest. Hike, swim, fish, and mountain bike; the Sleeping Beauty trail is minutes away for a big-view climb. Cool off in the Guler Ice Caves, a 2,000-foot lava tube where you can wander past frozen stalactites and stalagmites even in the heat of summer, or explore the neighboring Cheese Caves, an old natural cheese cellar you climb down into. Chase the reflection shot at Takhlakh Lake, where crystal-clear water mirrors Mt. Adams, or spend a day at Goose Lake and Council Lake. For the ambitious, Mt. Adams offers sport climbing routes and the South Climb up the glaciated summit, one of the most iconic experiences in the whole forest. And you're still just 30 minutes from White Salmon and Hood River for wineries when you want a break from the trail. Fall: My favorite season. Unbeatable colors through the forest, the Hood River fishery has been on fire lately, and it's a beautiful, quiet time to wander the backcountry as the crowds thin out. Winter: A snow playground. Cross-country skiing and snowshoeing straight into the national forest, plus we're sled-friendly: ample parking for snowmobile trailers and a shop where you can wrench on your sleds. Or just bring a good book and hibernate. Spring: Gorgeous up here, and turkey season is a favorite. Wildflower meadows start opening up in the high country, and there's room for boats and trailers if you're headed to Drano Lake (about 30 min) for springer salmon. If you like exploring, the Big Lava Bed, a 12,500-acre crater of crevasses, small caves, and rock formations, is a wild, otherworldly day trip about 40 minutes out from us. If you are coming up to Mount Adams or Gifford Pinchot to mountain bike or ride dirt bikes, we do have an adjacent workshop and a full set of tools. If you need to wrench on those or your snowmobiles in the winter, let us know in advance and we can arrange access to the workshop for you. We can arrange rentals of e-mountain bikes if you wish. This is Packwood at its finest! This exclusive RV parking spot is situated on an acre property! This property is nature’s “gem” for those who love the outdoors & wish to be part of what nature has to offer. This RV spot is equipped with a 20, 30 and 50 amp receptacle, with full access to water and septic. The daily rate is for full hookup for your trailer or RV; charging your electric vehicle is prohibited. You can find two EV charging stations in town at the 76 Gas Station. You will also have access to free wi-fi. As there are NO bathroom facilities on the property, NO TENT camping is allowed. We have hidden some fun painted rocks for your kids to find, but please be courteous and leave some behind for other kids as well! Rocks and any decor that are in the garden area are not for taking. This RV spot is located just minutes from town, where you can enjoy unique restaurants, breweries, and shopping. There are numerous year-round recreational activities including hiking, boating, biking, skiing, snowshoeing, hunting, and fishing. This location is just 30 minutes from White Pass Ski Area and 25 minutes from the Stevens Canyon Entrance to Mount Rainier National Park. Note: Be sure to check if any entrances at Mt. Rainier are closed prior to your visit! ATTENTION: In the event this site is booked, please message me for a possible opening, in the event there has been a cancellation. Booking this site is for "one camper" only. The Refuge is exactly the kind of place you hope to find on Hipcamp: peaceful, private, and genuinely beautiful. Our dog had the best time running around freely and enjoying the space, which made the stay even more special. Greg was so kind and welcoming, he even stopped by to gift us fresh tomatoes from his garden, such a thoughtful touch. It was the perfect place to slow down, unplug, and enjoy some time in nature. We had a wonderful stay and will definitely be back!

It's a beautiful campsite in a community of cabins in the woods. It's very private and quiet on a cul-de-sac. The covered picnic table is great!! We had no trouble parking our 24 foot travel trailer. We used the full hookups, water, 30 amp service, and the septic! Very handy. It was so great to not be in a campground! It is close to town and the Cowlitz River. We also drove into Mt Rainier Park for the day. It is true that if you want to find a parking spot you must get there by 8:30. We got the last spot in the lower parking lot at 8:30.

Our stay in Packwood at Gabion Wall Site 2 was very nice. The hook ups were easy to find and there was grass, and a covered patio area near the spot. It looks like they are working to create a great camping environment. We even had elk walk through our area! There are some nice restaurants, gas and amenities close.

We absolutely loved our stay at the A-frame cottage! Andrea was such a warm and welcoming host and made us feel right at home. We came specifically to watch the meteor shower, and it was the perfect spot. We especially loved that one side of the A-frame opens completely to the elements—it made the experience feel so connected to nature and was incredible for stargazing. At night, the white lights added such a magical touch. Every little detail was thoughtfully provided, from the incredibly comfortable bedding and towels to plates, utensils, water, bug spray, lanterns, a fire pit, and a Blackstone for cooking. We also loved the record player! The curtains along the open side were a great touch for blocking the morning light when we wanted to sleep in. It’s truly the perfect place to pack your bag and cooler, unplug, relax, and enjoy the outdoors. We would absolutely stay here again and highly recommend it!

Wow! What a whimsical experience for 2 old folks who are kids at heart. We came up to Goldendale to stargaze and the treehouse seemed like the perfect place to be. We watched the Perseids Meteor shower from the deck and the parking area. When the smoke from Oregon's wildfires started to creep into the area on our last night, we were glad to have the AC unit, so we could close the windows and play a brutal indoor Yahtzee competition. Having the flushing toilet on the main floor and outside was a treat! What a view! The outdoor shower made the experience rustic yet charming. Everything you need is provided for a simple and fun trip, e.g. towels, games, coffee maker, grill, plates, etc. Thank you for this experience!

What a wonderful stay! The treehouse was absolutely beautiful and set in such a peaceful, gorgeous setting. It was very well appointed, comfortable, and had everything we needed for a relaxing getaway. You can tell a lot of thought and care went into creating this special place. The setting was beautiful, the treehouse was unique and cozy, and it was the perfect place to slow down and enjoy nature. We would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it!
