Thank you to Ryan for helping me set up well after dark - excellent service!
We wanted to be close to Mt Rainier for our 6th National Park this year, and this little spot fit the bill! We just loved being tucked into this little road, across from the fire station and just a few steps down the little road to a coffee hut. Brilliant!
Here is what worked well for us:
• Location - we loved the town and being off the main drag and close to the mountain
• Level spot - OMG…we’ve been to such horrible unlevel spots lately, this was refreshing! Ryan for the WIN with the level spot!
• Hookups were well placed and worked well (water, power and sewer)
• Great gravel/drainage. There was a serious rain while we were there and the site didn’t flood or become a lake!
• Host was communicative and helpful
• Picnic table
• Walking distance to coffee hut, museum, brewery, the mercantile, city park, and lots more!
• Elk hang out in the field across from the spot in the fire department’s yard.
Here is what did not work for us:
• Pictures of the site didn’t quite tell the whole story
• All big rigs are not created equal - We are a 44’ 5th wheel with a 22’ truck. That chain link fence in front and the RV parked in the back made it very difficult to back in. If there had been someone in the spot next to us, that would have been even more difficult
• Noise on WA12. It wasn’t that bad, but if street noise bothers you, that’s something to know
This site is listed as ‘vehicles under 45’ allowed’. And we believe that is true. We think your RV set up ‘in total’

Ryan was extremely helpful and accommodating. Location was perfect and was close to Mt Rainer.
He also recommended the Pipeline bike trail for us to ride our e-bikes. Highly recommend.
Location, location, location and exemplary communication. Ryan is a responsive host and the FHU site is well laid out. Not only can you quickly drive to Ranier, you can walk to groceries, restaurants/bars, and coffee shops. Would stay here again.
the site was perfect, with everything as described. the host is very kind and super responsive. overall, i totally recommend.
Great landing spot for Mount Rainier National Park! Right in town too, walking distance to all of Packwood!

Great location, easy access. Would definitely stay again
First Hipcamp experience and it was awesome. Location is incredible for the park. The rv Park as a whole is still being developed and looks to be even more amazing when finished. Its extremely clean and well taken care of. I can't say enough about Ryan the host. I messaged several times with questions and also to change our reservation and he responded every time within minutes. We are half way on a two month National Parks tour and this has been one of the best to set up base camp. Thank you Ryan for a great experience for our family.

What a beautiful spot to stay. Easy access from 12, plenty of room to maneuver in to the spot. Peaceful with a pretty view, shaded by a beautiful old cherry tree. Had everything we could have asked for. Walking distance to restaurants and shops. There is a coffee stand a hop and a skip away from the site.
We had dinner at the Packwood Brewing they had great beer, cider and cocktails. Live music on their patio. Will be back through again, would love to explore a little more.

Great location for access to Mt Ranier Park, White Pass ski or any other activities . It was quite, clean and easy to walk into town.
Ryan was accommodating to our changing schedule. We hope to use it again.

Excellent little campsite. Ryan was an excellent host . Very responsive and told me everything I needed to know. We had an excellent time getting to do Packwood swapmeet . We will be back !

Nice FHU site within walking distance to everything in Packwood. Perfect spot to serve as Basecamp for area activities. Highly recommended!
