Rustic it may be but the use of quiet generators are allowed and we are pet friendly. We have a community field with games and a fire pit to use. Self-contained trailers are welcome (no hookups yet). Steps from snowmobile trails and near Lake Superior (10 miles), Star gazing, rock hunting or bird watching are all ideal for family fun or quiet escapes. Potable water and 15/30 amp electric service are available. Since there are no bathroom facilities, we are accepting only self contained campers. You will also need to be able to back 250’ down a straight driveway to the site.

We are located 12 miles south of Sault Ste Marie 1/3 mile west of M-129 on 12 Mile Road. It is a dirt road. The entrance is on the left or south side of the road. The property is good for either tent camping or a parking place for RVs. There is a new driveway that leads to the camping or parking areas. You can drive on the grass to get to the campsite. The campsite area is 50 yards from the road. You can set up anywhere in the cut grass area. There will be two white chairs and a garbage can. A small camp porta potty is available for your use.

Bars, restaurants, and dispensaries near by. Please note: This is not a campground. There are not designated sites. There are 4 areas on the property to camp. Two are within two feet from the beach, while the remaining two are about 50’ from the beach but have full views of the lake. We have approximately 400’ of lake frontage. These sites are in my yard. Iroquois Point light house is along the way. Spectical Lake overlook is merely 3.1 miles away on a county road legal for ORV's. The overlook is the gateway to the Hiawatha National Forest trails. This area has many activities for the outdoor enthusiast. Single Track hiking and mountain biking trails and northern lights if you are lucky enough to catch them on the beach of Superior. This campsite is along the U.S. Forest Service Whitefish Bay Scenic Byway. Make this spot your home away from home while touring all Michigan's Eastern Upper Peninsula has to offer. 50 miles to Tahquamenon Falls; 51 miles to Sheplers Mackinaw Island Ferry, St. Ignace; 23 miles to the Soo Locks; 6 miles to the Bay Mills Resort and Casino; 23 miles to the Kewadin Casino - Sault Ste. 50,000 acres of land plus one of the largest waterfalls east of the Mississippi River plus Michigan’s raddest river and more waterfalls equals where you need to be! Heck, where we all need to be! Tahquamenon Falls State Park is a land of epic proportions. It’s namesake attraction alone resembles one of the legendary scene-scapes in the Odyssey. As you can imagine, this park is not short of ways to keep your eyes in awe and your brains stimulated. Trails on top of trails on top of trails are waiting for you. Also available is hunting, fishing, moose and wildlife viewing, and paddle sports. Never mind wondering if you’re gonna stay the night, we promise it will be worth it and with a wide variety of accommodation options, you'll feel comfortable staying however long you’d like.

When to go

The ideal time to visit Tahquamenon Falls State Park is during the summer months, from late May to early September, when the weather is warm and the park's full splendor is on display. Winter offers a stark, frozen beauty, but be prepared for cold temperatures and snow.
