Private and Spacious

This campground is a hidden gem tucked deep in the woods. The sites branch off a long grassy lane, each one big, level, and well-spaced so you don’t feel crowded. Sites 3 and 4 are especially private if you’re looking for extra seclusion. You can hear a little road noise from the nearby road, but there’s no light pollution, so the nights are brilliantly starry. It’s a rustic campsite with everything you need—firepits with wood provided and outhouses available. Easy to find, well cared for, and the perfect base for exploring Newberry, Seney, and Grand Marais. I’d definitely stay here again.

The campsite was private, clean and maintained but well marked and easy to get to. Andy was easy to work with and even gave us some extra fire wood for our site.

Site 4 is a great little private site. No hassle getting in and out. Ordered wood to be there when we arrived, and it was! Perfect area to trout fish, head up to Grand Marais, or over to Pictured Rocks. Will come back.

Loved Andys Wolf Traxx! Easy to find and host answered us and offered help with anything we needed. Not too many trails for walking or anything but good quiet place to sleep with toilet. Beautiful stars!

Hip camp by pictured rock national

Andrew’s hip camp was clean with water available, trash cans and Andrew was super nice he came around checked on us made sure we had everything we needed. It was quiet and a great place to stop before visiting pictures of rock national Lakeshore. We highly recommend Andy’s spot.

This was a very nice semi-secluded camp! The first two sites are close to each other, but spaced enough for privacy. Sites 3 & 4 have a lot more privacy. Andy was great to talk to and very nice. I would definitely recommend and stay again. Thank you for providing us with a great camping experience!

The site was so big we could put up 3 big tents with room to spare. We stayed on site 4. We love how private it was even with other campers we never heard them. We will definitely stay again

We absolutely loved our stay at Site #1! Cindy & Andy were great at responses and checking in on us. It was a nice spot with neighboring spots nearby. Porta potty was clean & fresh drinking water directly on Site #1 was extremely helpful. We also rented the generator for our air mattress which helped a lot.

This spot was a killer find on our way to Pictured Rocks for a backpacking trip. Would be a great location to have a base camp for a week of adventure. Would reccomend to anyone!

Impressive setup. The sites gave a strong feeling of privacy, with fire pits and picnic tables. Even provided the firewood! And those were the cleanest toilets you could hope for.

We tent camped 4 nights in site #1 in July. Nicely maintained camp site, the port-a-John’s were clean, with a fresh trash can. Not a totally secluded site, but still private. Nice and close to Grand Maria’s, cute little town with a spectacular beach. Andrew was a responsive host, answered all my questions.

No complaints at all! The grounds were nice, the porta potties were honestly some of the cleanest I've ever seen, the presence of a shower was not an expectation but it was definitely a plus, water hose was nice, the fire pit was the perfect size, picnic table was in good condition, everyone we saw at camp was nice. Great experience overall!

Great Sites in the UP🏕️

We had a phenomenal time camping at Andy’s! Site 3 had a few tree stumps that would limit a low clearance vehicle being able to fully maneuver but it’s still very accessible! Just something to note when pulling in. It is bigger than it looks and offers plenty of space for tents or a small trailer. The grounds are well kept with porta potties and a solar shower. He supplies a picnic table, grate to cook over, and bucket to dump water on campfires. He and his wife greeted us shortly after we arrived to answer any questions and provide any recommendations. Sites 1 & 2 could hear each other but are separated with plenty of brush for privacy. Site 3 is tucked back on its own and site 4 is on the main drive past sites 1 & 2. Sound can carry but we weren’t bothered by any. The mosquitos were in full force and it’d be good to prepared when first setting up but once we had a fire going and bug prevention it wasn’t terrible. We’d definitely come back and stay here again!

Loved the privacy of this campsite, with a nice area to set up the tent. There is an outdoor shower, which is on the smaller side but a nice addition and potable water to use. Andy stopped us on the way in to greet us, which made me feel safe, that he watches the property well. There’s a town not to far from the site with food and cute shops. The only downfall was that we went in July and the mosquitos were vicious. I highly suggest plenty of mosquito spray and be prepared with maps, as phone signal is weak in the area. We loved the site and plan to return!

Great Location In The UP at Site 3

Great spot in the UP close to Seney and Grand Marais. Site 1 and 2 are right at the entrance near each other, site 3 has great privacy and is tucked back off the drive, site 4 is towards the back and has good privacy but is on the main drive. You could for sure put a small camper or van at site 3 but anything bigger I would recommend the other sites. Nice clean porta potty, potable well water, and a trash can. We did not use the solar shower on this trip. There is a campground in Grand Marais that you can shower and do laundry at if needed. Andy was nice and we even ran into him at the local watering hole.

Affordable, in-nature camping! 🏕️

We loved our stay here! Site #4 was private and well maintained. The stars at night were amazing to see and perfect for stargazing ✨ The sound of the birds in the morning was the best way to wake up! Site #4 is just a short walk from the bathroom and shower which was very convenient. It was the perfect size site for my boyfriend and I. Andy was very kind and helpful, he left firewood for us and the camping stove I rented worked great. Highly recommend a stay here if you’re wanting an affordable and peaceful camping experience 🏕️ Notes: No cell service (T-Mobile & AT&T) which was fine by us, but if you need to do something on your phone Seney is just 10 mins away. The BP gas station had service and we also went here to get ice as needed. Another 7 mins up the road from the BP is a cute, local market called Kersh’s with a very friendly staff and everything you might need. There is only a water hose at site #1 and the solar shower area but that was no problem and we were able to get potable water from those areas during our stay. The water is well water and tasted great! If you’re camping in summer, bug spray and mosquito coils are a must!
