Cute cabin, poured buckets one morning and was a very cosy place to wait out the storm. Monte and Lisa were very helpful and had some great tips about places to visit in the area. Would stay again if I ever find myself back up that way in the future.
(Also, if you want to see some beautiful carving/painting, ask Monte about the ice fishing lures he makes)

I loved the super cute and clean tiny cabin at Lisa and Monte's place in Engadine, Michigan. I went with my daughter and her 15 1/2 year old dog. We planned on checking in the night before and they waited up for us but we were not able to get there until thr next day due to Hurricaine in Florida causing heavy rain all the way there from Tennessee. Monte and Lisa were waiting on us when we pull into the property. They have sweet labradoodle named Lucy who was immediate friends with our old dog! The beds were comfortable, there was heat, and even an outdoor tub with sun water if you dared! It would probably be fine for me in the summer. There's an outhouse and it's clean!! The outside of the outhouse is painted bright blue and red. Its cut too! They have a book collection nearby in a coverd glass display so you can chose a book to read in the woods! Theres also a place for primative camping. I enjoyed spending time with my daughter. It was our first vacation just the two of us. I will cherish that time and hope to return soon. Thank you Monte and Lisa.

Kind, thoughtful and obliging hosts. I opted for the s’mores package and wood for $5. The s’mores package was fresh and there was an abundant amount of dry wood waiting for us by the fire pit. A very serene, lovely space.

Nice place to stay! They mentored making changes for the property and they were already ongoing to improve it by eliminating dome of the short hike to the campsite. Hike to the site isn't bad at all the outhouse was even nicer than expected. Peaceful and nice views on the property in my opinion. Will check it out next year!

The tiny home is super cozy with so much attention to detail. The property is stunning with a creek flowing through and beautiful wildflowers. Monte and Lisa are wonderful hosts. We had a great time talking with them, playing fetch with Lucy and even got to give their horses some carrots. We would come back in a heartbeat!

Monte and Lisa are wonderful hosts and the tiny house is such a cozy spot to stay. The property is stunning, and it was the perfect beginning and ending to our backpacking trip in Pictured Rocks. We were enamored with the cabin and all the quaint details (true craftsmanship!). We will probably stay again on our next trip to the UP!

We absolutely loved our stay in the tiny house! Did everything we needed and was very quiet and peaceful. The beds were comfortable. We enjoyed the outdoor shower after our long week of hiking. We enjoyed cooking on the fire pit and eating on the log table and chairs. Our hosts were extremely nice and helpful. Would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it!

This is a beautiful and idyllic spot. It feels highly secluded even though it’s close to a main road. We recommend having a foldable wagon or something you can carry your gear in, because it is a short walk from the car parking to the cabin.
Loved the little touches around, including the lending library and hammock! The mowed grassy hiking loop was perfect for our dogs and was ablaze with stunning native wildflowers.
Monte and Lisa were really kind and welcoming. We highly recommend staying here — we will be back.

Doe Creek Hideaway
Very comfortable and cute sleeping shed. My family and dog enjoyed our stay. It was peaceful and a pleasant surprise that this cabin had everything we needed for a worry free weekend. We came to the area to explore the waterfalls of Upper Michigan. And we were able to still have relaxing nights with all the amenities Monte and Lisa had to offer. Would love to enjoy this space again.

Tent camping here was perfect! Our brief meeting with the hosts upon arrival was pleasant, we got to see and hear the horses on our stay here which was a nice surprise. The walk from parking to the primitive area was short, the land was well maintained, and it was nice and quiet. The stars were beautiful and plentiful. Would definitely camp here again!

We only had one night here, but it was great! Monte and Lisa were kind and helpful, the provided cart saved us a lot of trouble, and there is a little bit of a walk to tent camp but the trail is beautiful and the campsite is very much worth it when reached. The outhouse was cute and clean, and the tiny library is a nice touch. Would love to stay again!

A beautiful pastoral setting, complete with barn, horses, and friendly dog to greet you!
Then, you leave the parking area!
From there u cross a charming footbridge over the creak, and meander the grass trail to your camp spot, passing a” little library” along the way!
And the actual camp spot was the most spacious I’ve ever camped at. And it offered total privacy and quiet.
The owners were really nice and clearly take pride in their little slice of heaven.

We absolutely loved our stay in the tiny house at Doe Creek Hideaway. We found ourselves constantly delighted by Monte and Lisa’s thoughtfulness in creating the space. From the fun framed art in the tiny house and composting toilet, the tiny library on the trail, the hammock by the river, and all of the amenities like an available sun shower! Also having two separate beds in a space like this made our stay all the more comfy for a friend trip! When you visit make sure to take a stroll through the well groomed trails through the woods to the river or through the fields of wildflowers to the hay fields for a spectacular sunrise. Make sure you also say hi to Lucy the dog, too. All in all a wonderful experience, thank you Monte and Lisa!!

Monte and Lisa’s hideaway provided everything and more for a short stay overnight before heading further west. We loved the privacy and attention to detail that was provided, and would definitely recommend a siesta in the hammock!

What an outstanding experience for my son and I!
The setting is beautiful and peaceful.. The tiny house was perfect and super comfortable..
You can tell the hosts take great pride in and work really hard on the site to make it just awesome to spend some relaxation time at..
It had everything I wanted in a spot to tear my son away from his video games for a few days. 😁
The location also made a great base camp for a day trip to the Shipwreck museum, Tequamenon falls, and Oswald's Bear Ranch..
Just an overall pleasurable experience.

Primitive camping with Monte and Lisa was cozy and welcoming. The walk to the campsite was made much easier with the cart they provided and the views on the walk including woods, a creek and a grassy field. There was an outhouse, mini library, wood for a fire all within walking distance of the site. Not to mention a fire pit with cooking grate and tables at the site itself. It was great to be surrounded by wildlife and nature so the walk was definitely worth it!

We loved this property, worked perfectly for us and our small dog. The weather wasn’t perfect, so would suggest a small fold up table and chair to play cards etc.

The hosts were friendly and their place was better than expected. If you are looking for peaceful and relaxing, this is the place. We only stopped for one night but definitely would love to stay longer. Such a beautiful area. I could listen to the creek all day.

My boyfriend and I only had a short stay at Doe Creek, but we really loved the whole experience here. The creek and surrounding area was serene, and the cabin itself was very comfortable. Cute cabin with water and heat. Private spot right by a creek. Has outdoor table, outdoor private sun shower, outdoor bathtub by the river. Doe Creek cabin was better than expected, all the little details make this rental special. I enjoyed reading my book in the hammock by the creek.
