Welcome to McMillan’s Winter Wonderland Escape! Nestled in the heart of Michigan’s “Winter Wonderland,” our 3+ acre retreat offers the perfect blend of adventure, comfort, and tranquility. Whether you're a seasoned camper or new to the outdoors, this little slice of nature has something for everyone. We offer 3 spacious, private tent sites that can accommodate whatever your heart desires — from small cozy setups to larger group hangouts. Half of the property is *heavily wooded* for that deep forest feel, while the other half is wide open and well-maintained, giving you plenty of options for sun or shade, depending on your mood. Each site comes equipped with a firepit for all your campfire stories, s’mores, and starry nights. Parking? No problem! There's plenty of room for your vehicle(s), so you won’t have to worry about squeezing into a tight spot. Need a little more comfort? Water and electric are available upon request for an additional charge, to keep your trip as easy-breezy as possible. Also have a boat available during summer months for you fisherman as there are about 5 lakes within 10 miles all good for fishing. Plus the legendary Manistique river.

This nice and comfy 2017 Keystone Cougar has everything you need and can sleep up to 5 guests! It has a king sized bed and a queen sleeper sofa, shower, fridge, heat and air, and even more to make your stay as comfortable and enjoyable as possible! It sits on my 3.5 acre property in a nice location in the U.P. of Michigan. We are located near 5 smaller lakes and a small yet charming village that has everything you need from emergency services to groceries all within 10 miles of the property. Enjoy local tourist attractions and activities such as dining, country clubs, fishing, hiking, and even catching a great view of the Milky Way every night! We welcome you to the U.P of Michigan, and we look forward to hosting you!

GREAT STAY

My brother and I enjoyed our stay on Neal’s land. There were other campers on the property but we never interacted with them. Because we got in late, we never met Neal. The land was right next to a road but it was not a busy road. It was a cheap and nicely located site! I would recommend this site to anyone just looking for a safe night’s sleep (with no amenities)

We needed a last-minute spot, and this place was a lifesaver! The host responded right away and made everything easy. We arrived after dark, so didn’t see everything, but what we could see looked really nice. Highly recommend!

We arrived a little late but Neal was awake and he was so helpful. We had a nice stay at his place. I would stay again and I recommended it. We were just looking for a place for sleep for the night so we arrived late and left in the morning as we were touring up north. Thank you Neal for having us.

The listing and pics are misleading. There is no open space with a power pole as shown in the pics, this is taken up by two campers that are connected into the home's septic so long term/rental. We ended up beside the garage looking at tent campers and the residents' open fire pit. There is no privacy, had i know that i would be beside a residence I would have gone to the campground down the road for $15 more.

We made a last minute decision and found Neal's camping spot nearby. It was easy to book, mostly easy to find (Google maps said it was on the North side, maybe because the mailbox is on the north side. However, his place is on the south side of the road, clearly marked with the house number on a building). Once we arrived, Neal came right out, a very friendly guy, and he showed us where to park. It was quiet. We slept great! Thank you Neal!!

Host was friendly and accommodating. Just needed a place to sleep for the noght. Neal let us park alongside his garage with 30amp. Easy to find. Planning to stay here again on our next trip through the UP.

Great HipCamp option

Appreciated Neal welcoming us and getting us situated in a quiet spot on the property, and providing a power outlet for our truck camper -- also sewer was available if needed. We spent a quiet night on our journey, and Neal's location near Newberry is great if your on you're way to far-flung UP destinations, north, east, south and west!
