Well off the beaten track, it's scenic, private and peaceful. Camping at Moon In The Pond Farm is a bit of heaven. There are separate sites to choose. Around the farm, you have your own secluded spot to enjoy. (Though you may be in a field next to our Scottish Highland cattle!) Two are tent sites: the PondSide and the FieldEdge. There's one site for small/tiny RVs or Campervan. And finally there's the HiddenCabin--a bed a roof and convenience. Each has a firepit with a small grill to cook over the fire. (all firewood provided) Our campsites are in quieter areas of the farm. One overlooks the pond, others are on the edges of different farm fields, one a cabin nearer the farmstead. All require a beautiful, bucolic trek of 150-350 yards from the roadside parking--ensuring the quiet, natural experience. During the day times, you may see or hear farm work. At night it's lusciously dark and serenely quiet. You'll hear owls hoot, frogs croak, crickets chirp, foxes yowl and coyotes howl! In June and July the fields and trees light up like Christmas with fireflies, and you'll see the stars. During the week is the absolute best time--the local hot spots (or cooling down spots!) are much quieter, and all our campsites have reduced weekday rates. If you can, take advantage by adding a Thursday or Sunday night to a weekend stay. We've got an awesome, easy hiking trail on adjacent Nature Conservancy land. It meanders through woodlands, around rock ledges, through wetlands (on a 600' of boardwalk) and ends at a beautiful stream and pond with a gigantic beaver dam. Not far from here are numerous well-marked hiking trails (including the Appalachian Trail (with famous Bash Bish Falls) and several offshoots (Sage's Ravine, Race Brook Falls), Bartholomew's Cobble, Umpacheenee Falls, and others). Also in the neighborhood are opportunities for canoeing, kayaking, swimming, rock climbing, gavel-road and country-road biking, and pretty much any outdoor activity/adventure opportunity. Or... you can just chill and relax, sleep, or read the day away! Love food? This is Farm-to-Table for real! Never so close--the table's AT the farm! Bring your cooking gear and get some of our wicked fresh organic food--veggies, chops, sausages, eggs, bacon, granola, yogurt, etc. Sear yourself up a real treat! Very nearby, as the Berkshires is a cultural mecca, there are also numerous opportunities from many great restaurants to art, dance, music, spas, galleries, antique shops, museums, cafes and much more. It's still amazingly quiet at the farm where the Milky Way is clearly visible.

It is tucked in between the Hudson River (8 miles to the East) and the Catskill Mountains (10 miles to the west). It is just 6 miles from the Village of Saugerties and 14 miles to Woodstock, NY. The piece available for camping is 10 acres, but the entire Garden is comprised of 98 acres of rolling land (most of it in a forestry protection plan) bordered on the west by acres of marshland. For July 4th weekend, and Labor Day weekend drive-up sites are a 2 night minimum. In the off season starting after Thanksgiving through April, there is no water or toilet or shower facilities available. The solar shower and water lines may be shut off any time in October if freezing conditions prevail. Please check with us. Our 75 acres is a wonderful, diverse mix of habitat, harmoniously integrated with our small farm. This land was the homestead of the very first non native settler of the area, John Wiley, in 1787. Before that, it was the land of the Mahican native Americans. They named it "valley of the butternut trees", or Wyomanock. The Wyomanock Creek is the backbone of this little valley. Beaver have dammed the creek at several points to create ponds and other wetland features that support a diversity of wildlife including otter, moose and a myriad of birds, from osprey to herons. This sanctuary is host to many uncommon native plants and plant communities. We would love to share it with you! Your host, Thom, invites you to property to explore 75 acres of meadows, woods and water. Choose one of several sites either in the woods or open areas. You are also free to use our outdoor solar shower or take a dip in the cold pond or artesian spring fed pool. Our location is convenient to the Berkshire Mountains, state parks, hiking and other attractions, including Ramble Wild tree to tree adventures and Jiminy Peak. The Little Witch Cottage is a rustic charming cottage from 1929 with timber framing and Catskill blue stone flooring. It sits in the middle of our yard about 200 feet from our more modern home. We have about 9 acres set back from the road. The cottage has a queen sized bed, dining table, and small kitchenette. The kitchenette has a mini fridge, dishes, toaster oven, french press for coffee and an induction stove top. There is basic cooking supplies such as pots and pans. We wired this vintage beauty to run on solar power and has an outhouse with a composting toilet, sink, and heated outdoor shower. Our location is nestled between the Taconics of New York, the Green Mountains of Vermont, and the Berkshires of Massachusetts. The Heldebergs are one of the oldest mountain ranges on earth, these mountains have been worn down to 2000 feet over time. Native Americans lived in the area many years ago and we are quite sure this was Native American sacred ceremony land. Hiking, canoeing, swimming and fishing (catch & release only) are available on site. There are many places to hike in the area, an Eagle Trail and in winter, 2 miles away, is a Nature Preserve that rents snowshoes and has trails for snowshoeing and cross country skiing, Very rural and private, even though we are only 25 miles SW of Albany, NY the capital of NYS, here it is quiet and peaceful. We do have 3 very friendly dogs that will want to be your best friends. Also farm animals that you can meet. There will be farm noises, roosters greeting the morning and various grunts and snorts... far less noise than any modern city. Albany, along with the surrounding areas, have many events etc going on. There's hiking, biking, nature parks, horse racing, concerts, festivals and events and so much more. Links and information can be provided to campers that stay with us that are looking for entertainment & excursions. When the temperatures drop, usually in November, we must turn off the water hose in order to preserve the hose and keep it from freezing. We provide water in 5 Gallon jugs for cleaning dishes and for personal hygiene. Please note, sometimes it gets so cold that the water freezes! During those times, we suggest bringing in water that you will use on a daily basis. You must bring in your own drinking water! We will provide you with a supply of paper plates, cups and plastic utensils! Water is typically turned back on in April. Winter camping adventure awaits! Staying at The Wasburn Cabin in winter months has proven to be an absolutely magical experience for hundreds of our guests. However, it does require a little extra planning and an understanding of winter in the Hudson Valley. Between November and April, the weather can have its extremes and does not allow for running water as the pipes will freeze and crack. Unfortunately, even leaving bottled water often just ends up being blocks of ice and not useable for our guests. We simply ask guests to bring in water during their stay to ensure a safe useable water source. We also ask guests to bring proper clothes. The insulated cabin does reach comfortable temperatures, however, extreme cold snaps can make it necessary to bundle up and cuddle with your main squeeze. If you are open to a little adventure and a little planning, come and enjoy our little oasis! If you are looking for high end amenities with hot showers and instant heat on demand, this is probably not for you and we suggest trying our outdoor experiences in warmer months. While we are located in a neighborhood, cell phone service can be spotty. We personally have not had any issues. We hope that once you arrive at the cabin, you’ll settle in and realize that disconnecting will help you reconnect to yourself! We offer limited wifi. Meaning, the signal may not be super strong but can help in getting you online to search the internet but may not be strong enough to stream. We had a great time at the Palsgraf Estates! Bill was so kind and helped us with everything we needed: firewood, restaurant recommendations, and local spots to check out. We will definitely be back! The campsite was beautiful, private, and the perfect escape from the City.

This was such a gorgeous location! Super super close to the town of Shelburne Falls but also felt so secluded in nature on a beautiful property. I would absolutely come back here again, felt like I was in a story book :) and the wood burning stove kept the place soooo warm

We loved our stay at The Cabin. Julie and her family were wonderful. The property is spectacular! So clean. The autumn leaves and the view were so beautiful. We spent alot of time around the campfire. Loved the sound of the owls at night. This is a fantastic Hipcamp…we can’t recommend it enough!

Drinking cider by the fireplace on a cool autumn evening was a wonderful way to begin our journey through the Catskills. My only regret was having to leave too soon.

Caitlin has created a really magical place with a lot of attention to detail. Feels a bit like being in a fairy tale. The cottage isn’t too far from the main residence but it still feels private. The outdoor shower was beautifully warm and compost toilet was clean and hygienic. We arrived a little later and Caitlin was really accommodating allowing for an easy self check in with firewood waiting for us on arrival.

Weekend Trip to Sexy Little Cabin in Saugerties, NY

My partner and I went to Saugerties for a concert and stayed at the Sexy Little Cabin, and I would go back anytime I need a place in that area. The space itself was so well thought out- it's beautiful and has everything you need with clear instructions and the absolute nicest hosts. It also had a very comfortable bed. One of us accidentally left something there and within an hour Alex had written to us and arranged to get us the item back- really kind and thoughtful as a host throughout the entire stay. I highly recommend this place to anyone exploring the area- there is so much to do in Saugerties, as well as the immediate surrounding areas of Kingston/Woodstock/etc- and the listing is extremely accurate.

Cute little place! The listing said sleeps 6 but really need to bring extra probisions to make that happen. Jimmy was great. Beautiful drive to Woodstock the next morning. They are continually improvong the place, super cool thing.

Weekend Trip to Upper Shire Campsites Hudson Valley

Another year another campout at Upper Shire. We love this place, the area and Joanna. This time we stayed at the new cabin. So cozy, specially this rainy windy weekend. We didn’t mind, made it more cozy. There’s a mini propane heater with a glass front that added ambiance and warmth to the cabin. Do I need to mention the outdoor showers again? My absolute favorite part, specially with fall brisk temperatures. Instant and endless hot water gives you time to enjoy the moment. The surrounding area has so many choices of top notch breakfast lunch and dinner. Hudson is 30 minutes with tons of restaurants and you’re right on the border of Massachusetts where there’s even more to do. Can’t wait to go back. Thank you again Joanna!

Great time - Bill (the host) is a great guy, very welcoming and shows great hospitality and respect for your space. The onsite port-a-potty was maybe the cleanest one I've been in. The cabins were nice with modern flooring and the beds were surprisingly cozy. He gave us all the wood we could burn for the bonfire and even had it started up by the time we got back from hiking Kaaterskill Falls (highly recommended hike). There are also trails to walk around the site which are nice for a stroll if you don't want to leave the site. Cornhole and Horseshoes to play around. no sink or electricity. 10/10.

We loved our time here! We came through for a bikepacking trip, and couldn't have been happier with our choice. Check-in was great and Caitlin met us at the cottage to show us around briefly, the place is exactly as described and the area is gorgeous. Plenty of places nearby for essentials, and super close to various different towns to explore. Would absolutely book again; thank you for having us!
