Well off the beaten track, it's scenic, private and peaceful. Camping at Moon In The Pond Farm is a bit of heaven. There are separate sites to choose. Around the farm, you have your own secluded spot to enjoy. (Though you may be in a field next to our Scottish Highland cattle!) Two are tent sites: the PondSide and the FieldEdge. There's one site for small/tiny RVs or Campervan. And finally there's the HiddenCabin--a bed a roof and convenience. Each has a firepit with a small grill to cook over the fire. (all firewood provided) Our campsites are in quieter areas of the farm. One overlooks the pond, others are on the edges of different farm fields, one a cabin nearer the farmstead. All require a beautiful, bucolic trek of 150-350 yards from the roadside parking--ensuring the quiet, natural experience. During the day times, you may see or hear farm work. At night it's lusciously dark and serenely quiet. You'll hear owls hoot, frogs croak, crickets chirp, foxes yowl and coyotes howl! In June and July the fields and trees light up like Christmas with fireflies, and you'll see the stars. During the week is the absolute best time--the local hot spots (or cooling down spots!) are much quieter, and all our campsites have reduced weekday rates. If you can, take advantage by adding a Thursday or Sunday night to a weekend stay. We've got an awesome, easy hiking trail on adjacent Nature Conservancy land. It meanders through woodlands, around rock ledges, through wetlands (on a 600' of boardwalk) and ends at a beautiful stream and pond with a gigantic beaver dam. Not far from here are numerous well-marked hiking trails (including the Appalachian Trail (with famous Bash Bish Falls) and several offshoots (Sage's Ravine, Race Brook Falls), Bartholomew's Cobble, Umpacheenee Falls, and others). Also in the neighborhood are opportunities for canoeing, kayaking, swimming, rock climbing, gavel-road and country-road biking, and pretty much any outdoor activity/adventure opportunity. Or... you can just chill and relax, sleep, or read the day away! Love food? This is Farm-to-Table for real! Never so close--the table's AT the farm! Bring your cooking gear and get some of our wicked fresh organic food--veggies, chops, sausages, eggs, bacon, granola, yogurt, etc. Sear yourself up a real treat! Very nearby, as the Berkshires is a cultural mecca, there are also numerous opportunities from many great restaurants to art, dance, music, spas, galleries, antique shops, museums, cafes and much more. It's still amazingly quiet at the farm where the Milky Way is clearly visible.

It is tucked in between the Hudson River (8 miles to the East) and the Catskill Mountains (10 miles to the west). It is just 6 miles from the Village of Saugerties and 14 miles to Woodstock, NY. The piece available for camping is 10 acres, but the entire Garden is comprised of 98 acres of rolling land (most of it in a forestry protection plan) bordered on the west by acres of marshland. For July 4th weekend, and Labor Day weekend drive-up sites are a 2 night minimum. In the off season starting after Thanksgiving through April, there is no water or toilet or shower facilities available. The solar shower and water lines may be shut off any time in October if freezing conditions prevail. Please check with us. Our 75 acres is a wonderful, diverse mix of habitat, harmoniously integrated with our small farm. This land was the homestead of the very first non native settler of the area, John Wiley, in 1787. Before that, it was the land of the Mahican native Americans. They named it "valley of the butternut trees", or Wyomanock. The Wyomanock Creek is the backbone of this little valley. Beaver have dammed the creek at several points to create ponds and other wetland features that support a diversity of wildlife including otter, moose and a myriad of birds, from osprey to herons. This sanctuary is host to many uncommon native plants and plant communities. We would love to share it with you! Your host, Thom, invites you to property to explore 75 acres of meadows, woods and water. Choose one of several sites either in the woods or open areas. You are also free to use our outdoor solar shower or take a dip in the cold pond or artesian spring fed pool. Our location is convenient to the Berkshire Mountains, state parks, hiking and other attractions, including Ramble Wild tree to tree adventures and Jiminy Peak. We are 107 acres of forest, a 9 acre lake, ponds, creeks, labyrinth, a Holistic Retreat Center & Organic Permaculture Farm at a 2000 foot elevation in the Heldeberg Mountains. 500 million years ago during the Devonian Period this was a sea, so we live in shale based mountains with lots of fossils! The Heldebergs are one of the oldest mountain ranges on earth, these mountains have been worn down to 2000 feet over time. Native Americans lived in the area many years ago and we are quite sure this was Native American sacred ceremony land. Hiking, canoeing, swimming and fishing (catch & release only) are available on site. There are many places to hike in the area, an Eagle Trail and in winter, 2 miles away, is a Nature Preserve that rents snowshoes and has trails for snowshoeing and cross country skiing, Very rural and private, even though we are only 25 miles SW of Albany, NY the capital of NYS, here it is quiet and peaceful. We do have 3 very friendly dogs that will want to be your best friends. Also farm animals that you can meet. There will be farm noises, roosters greeting the morning and various grunts and snorts... far less noise than any modern city. Albany, along with the surrounding areas, have many events etc going on. There's hiking, biking, nature parks, horse racing, concerts, festivals and events and so much more. Links and information can be provided to campers that stay with us that are looking for entertainment & excursions. When the temperatures drop, usually in November, we must turn off the water hose in order to preserve the hose and keep it from freezing. We provide water in 5 Gallon jugs for cleaning dishes and for personal hygiene. Please note, sometimes it gets so cold that the water freezes! During those times, we suggest bringing in water that you will use on a daily basis. You must bring in your own drinking water! We will provide you with a supply of paper plates, cups and plastic utensils! Water is typically turned back on in April. Winter camping adventure awaits! Staying at The Wasburn Cabin in winter months has proven to be an absolutely magical experience for hundreds of our guests. However, it does require a little extra planning and an understanding of winter in the Hudson Valley. Between November and April, the weather can have its extremes and does not allow for running water as the pipes will freeze and crack. Unfortunately, even leaving bottled water often just ends up being blocks of ice and not useable for our guests. We simply ask guests to bring in water during their stay to ensure a safe useable water source. We also ask guests to bring proper clothes. The insulated cabin does reach comfortable temperatures, however, extreme cold snaps can make it necessary to bundle up and cuddle with your main squeeze. If you are open to a little adventure and a little planning, come and enjoy our little oasis! If you are looking for high end amenities with hot showers and instant heat on demand, this is probably not for you and we suggest trying our outdoor experiences in warmer months. While we are located in a neighborhood, cell phone service can be spotty. We personally have not had any issues. We hope that once you arrive at the cabin, you’ll settle in and realize that disconnecting will help you reconnect to yourself! We offer limited wifi. Meaning, the signal may not be super strong but can help in getting you online to search the internet but may not be strong enough to stream. Amazing stay! Julie and her family may be some of the kindest and most welcoming people I've ever met. The Cabin is so beautifully crafted & thoughtfully done. Being so close to town while still feeling away from it all was also an added perk!

Weekend Trip to The Cabin

The cabin served as the perfect home base for our trip to surrounding outdoor recreation (hiking, biking, climbing are all around!). We felt secluded but also safe. Hosts were friendly and kind but also gave us our space. Best outhouse ever and the fairy houses were an added bonus. We regret not staying longer to checkout Shelburne Falls and perhaps just spend a day unwinding at the cabin with its great view and peaceful vibes. Just means we will have to be back soon!

Weekend Trip to The Little Witch Cottage

We had a really magical time staying at the cottage. The whole place is set up so thoughtfully and with real hospitality throughout, and Caitlin rose is a kind, generous, and respectful host. It felt homey and approachable while still being a special experience, and I look forward to hopefully come back in the future!

7 nights at Wyomanock Farm

It was a bit of an awkward arrival due to Hipcamp not refunding the host and I prior to my stay. Beyond that the site was absolutely beautiful. I woke up to rabbits hummingbirds, and even a porcupine. There was a recent situation with a dog, so Tom was sure to let me know that leashes are preferred. I would say this is valuable, especially for the amazing wild life. You’ll see while camping here. The sites are private. I stayed for a week and I enjoyed Pittsfield and all the amazing hikes. I highly recommend the country store and ask someone who was coming in from camping it was really nice to be able to do laundry and such an amazing place five minutes down the road! Definitely a great place to explore! Worth staying for longer than just a night even if you’re passing through.

This is our second time staying at the cabin with our dog and we absolutely love it! Caitlin is a wonderful host and the place feels private while being close to cute towns and gorgeous hiking and nature. We also love the cute style of the cabin, so even if the weather tutns is is still a great and relaxing time. Much gratitude to Caitlin for sharing her wonderful space and making it dog friendly!

Weekend Trip to The Cabin

Beautiful property with nice views. Cabin was comfortable and clean, as was the outhouse. Rainwater for washing was an added bonus. Julie the host could not have been nicer and accommodating. She knew it was going to be colder the night we stayed and left an extra blanket, which made all the difference. Also gave us lots of recommendations for eating spots. There is a great deal of wildlife, we heard owls and coyotes at night, but nothing bothered us. Would stay again.

Incredible location, hosts, and cabin. This was the perfect setup. It wasnt overdone to ruin the experience of the natural surroundings but still comfortable to stay in after a day of exploring. Julia and Dave were so kind and accommodating. I would highly recommend and plan to go back when I can.

2 nights at Otters and Eagles Cabin

The location was beautiful and wonderfully private while still being easy to get to. Mark was very friendly with just giving us a basic tour and then left us unbothered the rest of the time. The name of the place is accurate as we watched otters play our first night and saw eagles a few times as well as a lot of other wildlife. I have put this place at the top of my list for when I need a peaceful woodsy getaway in the future. It was perfect.

Weekend Trip to Otters and Eagles Cabin

My best friend and I had a lovely time at Mark’s cabin. The property is so peaceful and well-equipped to make for an stress-free stay. We enjoyed sitting by the pond with our books and making a fire with s’mores at night. There are plenty of things to do nearby; we enjoyed visiting a local coffee shop and bookstore and hiking. Thank you Mark for such a relaxing weekend and for being such a thoughtful host!

Loved my time, great getaway. Beautiful spot, beautiful gardens, the birds knew their assignment. I was looking for someplace quiet and to not do nothing and just read and reflect, and Just Be fit the bill. ‘Just Be’ is actually a great mantra! I turned off my phone for three days. I suggest you do the same! Thanks!

3 nights at Otters and Eagles Cabin

We do a mother-daughter camping trip each summer and have always done a tent at a state park in the past. This year, the forecast showed thunderstorms for our entire trip - bummer. I went searching for a cabin available for our dates and found Mark's place! We absolutely loved our stay at Otters and Eagles Cabin! We got to enjoy a campfire, hammock, and some quiet time with nature with the bonus of amenities like real beds, electricity and running water, a kitchen equipped with everything we needed for cooking, and, of course, a roof over our heads when it rained. I'd seen reviews raving about the outdoor shower, and it lived up to the hype. There's a long-drop outhouse, which was fine for me, but my kid was very glad to have the option of the compost toilet in the cabin. Within a 10 min drive there was horseback riding at Cinch 'Em Up Stables (call ahead to reserve a time), mini golf and ice cream, and a Cumberland Farms for essentials. After this experience I think I may be ready to give up sleeping on the ground and packing up a wet tent for good, and embrace Otters and Eagles Cabin as part of our annual tradition. The time I saved by not having to set up a campsite, haul firewood, and pack all the things, was well spent playing cards with my kid!

Couldn't have asked for anything better! Such a sweet cozy cottage with plenty of amenities, lush gardens surrounding, outdoor shower in the garden was so nice (mint surrounding the outdoor shower smelled particularly good), close to many things to do- would really love to stay again! Highly recommend, was a really inspiring cozy place.
