One of the valleys last original stone homes dating back to 1845. We have been restoring the buildings made from the stone. The main house which is not yet finished has beautiful etched glass windows of the cattle drives. James Hinds the homesteader and original owner of the ranch created the ware and hinds ditch which supplies our abundant Valley water. He was a prominent attorney and got our water rights given to us forever from President Harrison. Currently, the ranch is running on an open range policy. Livestock is not fenced in, so please be cautious and understand that you are camping at your own risk. Please do not feed the animals (even though they are friendly they can get rambunctious) and keep all dogs on leash at ALL times. The Ute Lodge was homesteaded in the 1930’s by Joe Fox who after leaving the military came west to settle in the White River valley. Joe was known for his friendliness, hospitality and wild stories. Today you might find much of the same. From Joe’s day to today it is a place where families come together to get away. The Ute Lodge is now owned by Karl and Mona Maser who celebrated 20 years of ownership summer of 2019! All summer our cabins are filled with guests from all over the US as well as international travelers. One of our favorite things about the summer is our weekly potlucks where we all share an outdoor meal. All of our visitors have a standing invitation to join us around the community campfire at night. From our beautiful private lake (where you can paddle-board, kayak and fish), to immediate access to the Papoose and Crooks Park Trails on National Forest land, as well as the vast variety of wildlife that roams around, you can find what you need here to unplug and get away from it all.

River Camp RV Park is located directly on a beautiful bend of the famed White River near the base of the iconic Flat Tops Wilderness near Meeker, Colorado. The park is nestled in a scenic valley, surrounded by beautiful ranches and mountains. The 13 acre property is well laid out and provides spacious sites that afford great privacy and quiet. Mature trees on the property offer great shade and the grounds are covered with a beautiful lawn. The RV park is well maintained and always clean. There is an abundance of wildlife in the area. Turkeys and deer wander through the park and the bird watching is stellar. Keep your speed at 10 mph upon entry and 5.5 mph once you enter the RV sites. We MUST keep our wildlife and guests safe! The Speed Limit begins at the Park entry gate and all through the park. River Camp RV Park offers 20 well-situated RV sites, each with a level gravel pad. Each site has full hook ups, including water (with great water pressure), sewer, and 30 and 50 amp outlets. Most sites will accommodate a 38' RV and Class A, B, and C Motorhomes. A majority of the sites will also accommodate a 44' RV. In addition to the RV Sites with full hook-ups, we also offer dry camping and can accommodate large groups. We can provide water for our campers that are in the dry camp areas and we have a dump station area for you before you leave. Water is also provided for those that are in their tents or small camper trailers. Please note: we do not have a bathhouse. Porta-potties are near the dry camp area marked 20A-20E. Each site, including dry camp, has a picnic table and fire pit. Firewood is available for purchase. WiFi is also provided. Please keep in mind we are in a rural location and can NOT promise perfection when it comes to the WiFi. There is NO public boat launch for the river. No one was there when we arrived, but Max was quick to return our call, provided parking instructions, and made sure to meet us the next day.

Amy was lovely and so was the campground. We enjoyed our stay and would definitely recommend River camp RV. The only issue I had was a leak in the pump at our site, we were told to fill our tank instead of have the water run but it significantly reduces water pressure. Next time I would hope they either move people to a camp site with working amenities, or let people know the situation before hand so the can decide if they still want to stay! Also the river isn't as great as pictures look, you really cannot swim or fish in it.

Brandon is a class act, and he's got a great spot for a fair price. He really went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and to ensure that we were having a good time. Note that we didn't stay at the roadside spot specified in our reservation. Instead, he (very generously) offered to let us use a more secluded site next to his own trailer. (But my understanding is that this spot won't be available for other guests in the near future.). What I saw of the roadside spot: the road isn't very busy, and it doesn't have shade (not a problem if your trailer has AC, but ours doesn't). While not fancy, the spots are plenty comfortable, with well-functioning utilities. They provided an extremely convenient staging ground for our activities around Glenwood. Brandon also has a PhD-level knowledge of smoking meat. His brisket is a work of god-damn art. Like seriously, the most delicious brisket I've ever had. It changed my life. Thanks Brandon!

This campground was an okay place to stay for a couple of nights, it had everything we needed and served as a convenient base for visiting Glenwood Hot Springs. If your main goal is to explore the area and enjoy the hot springs, it’s a practical option.
