We are a homestead and small campground devoted to the principles of organic farming and self-reliance. Modern agriculture and big business are unsustainable, destroying farmland at an accelerating pace. It is important for us to teach the next generation, there is an alternative. We produce much of our own food. We have friendly goats, chickens, ducks, peacocks, donkeys and horses the guests can pet and feed. There are no swimming holes on our property, but many waterfalls and swimming spots within a short drive (see list below). A quick 5 minute drive will get you to one of the best disc golf courses in the north east. For the truly adventurous, Clarksville Cave is a short drive away. This cabin has been in my family for over 20 years. When my sister purchased this cabin it was in rough shape, with a tar paper roof and a single bunk that was falling down. With help from our father's sawmill, and helping hands of friends and family, we were able to rebuild from the ground up. Ever since then, this cabin has been making memories for our family and friends. We hope whoever gets to experience our little piece of VT will also make great memories here. This cozy family owned cabin located in the town of Sunderland, Vermont. Surrounded by hundreds of acres of national forest, campers can enjoy the sounds of a swift stream flowing nearby, birds chirping in trees, and the rustling of leaves and branches in the breeze. This mountainous area has a rich array of wildlife, meadows, trails, and only a few miles away from the Battenkill River, a tributary of the Hudson River of New York. Once inside you’ll find a small kitchen and dining area complete with a wood burning stove for those cool Vermont nights. The sleeping area offers four generously-sized bunks, a loft area, and a queen futon. Enjoy the peace of nature with a cup of coffee on the porch, but don’t forget to cap off the night with smores around the fire pit! Access to Vermont’s Long Trail System is nearby, with its 272 mile footpath and 166miles of side trails. This offers endless hiking opportunities for the day-hiker, weekend overnighter and extended backpacker. The Long Trail follows the main ridge of the Green Mountains from the Massachusetts-Vermont state line to the Canadian border, crossing Vermont’s highest peaks. As for the daily adventures, take a drive to surrounding ski resorts, including Bromley Mountain being just 15 miles from the property, where you can enjoy various activities year-round. Take a 10 minute drive to visit Mount Equinox Skyline drive where you’ll take in incredible views. Just past Mount Equinox is The Village of Manchester, which is home to the famed Equinox Resort and Spa. In Manchester, guests can enjoy everything from shopping & dining to outdoor classes for ATV driving and fly fishing!

I now try to keep the back acreage by the brook and pond as natural as possible for habitat, as well as you the campers! Learn more about this land: Most will have cell service at the site or there is a free public Wi-Fi in Wilmington center. Private yet convenient to Downtown Wilmington, VT. Located between the Harriman reservoir and Lake Raponda, both great for boating, fishing and swimming. As well as the Deerfield River across the street, which runs through town. There is a public hiking trail that goes through the property. It goes from the Fairview ave. boat launch in Wilmington, all the way up to West Dover. You can access this at the back of the site. The site is only a minutes drive from downtown Wilmington, or you can hike/bike there on the trail (approx 15 min). In Wilmington there is plenty of shopping, gifts, coffee, restaurants, gas, liquor store. I also have dry, split firewood available for $5 on site. Please don't bring your own unless it is prepackaged from shaws or bought from one of the local sellers right around me. Transportation of out of state firewood can bring invasive beetles to our forests...

Moreau in New York state features nature hiking and cross country skiing, as well as water activities. People come from Saratoga Springs and Albany to splash in the cool waters of Moreau Lake. The best part is that the park rents out beach umbrellas, lounges and fishing gear. That way, you have more cooler space in your car.

BYOB (bring your own boat) and paddle to one of three small, peaceful lakes. Cast your line to catch dinner for later. More than 20 miles of hiking trails take you through hilly country. The most spectacular views happen right along the iconic Hudson River to the west. Fall time lends to spectacular foliage on the trees. Winter turns the lakes to ice and the hiking trails into skiing or snowmobile paths.
