While my trip fell through, and I wasn't able to stay, Sam the host was wonderful. I had a lot come up all at onc while inwas planning this trip, so I had a lot of questions for him, and he always answered promptly, and helpfully. I will definitely be back to try to stay here again!

The host is so kind and accommodating when requesting add-ons, and the proximity to the water was a nice touch. There were also plenty of amenities that we appreciated. This is a great spot for groups who don’t need privacy, but it wasn’t a great fit for us because of that reason.
The main pathway for everyone to walk on goes through each spot (unless you are the first or last spot), so we had people passing within a few feet of us the entire time. There were multiple off-leash dogs coming into our campsite and the porta-potty was next to our site (#5) so we heard the door slamming non-stop and through the night. There was also music playing for almost 6 hours straight from other campers and on another property. Maybe the music was related to the holiday weekend, but regardless, you are close enough to each other to hear these things and see each other.
These things would have been nice to know and although it wasn’t a great fit for us, it could be nice for those who want to socialize and want more of a party vibe.

Host was super friendly and the sites were well maintained. It was a little rainy the weekend we came out and our host brought us some hay to lay out to help keep things from getting too sloppy. Super easy to find the campsite and fun to walk around the property and river close by

My stay was very enjoyable. Very clean camping sites, with the peaceful surroundings allowed my wife and i to relax on a safe camping trip. The security gate was comforting, and the tables provided were a very pleasant surprise. It was really nice being right on the river, and the trees giving shade were perfect.

This was a great location to try out our new gear setup. Very easy to enter and access with great communication and instructions. Our site was perfectly situated right next to the river and we enjoyed a relaxing stay for the night. Conveniently located close to Portland for a quick escape. Would definitely return.

This property was beautiful!! We stayed on site 7. It was really nice being so close to the river. The wild life is stunning as well; we saw eagles, hawks, jays, chipmunks, western squirrels. The host, James, was very welcoming and hospitable! Will definitely be returning. The campsites are close together, but you still have a sense of privacy w the trees and bushes separating sites.

We enjoyed our time at Molalla Ripple site 6 and are looking forward to returning. We arrived about 2 o’clock with our small teardrop trailer on a mid-May Friday to an empty campground. Site 6 has a somewhat short depth but we were able to turn our teardrop diagonally to have a nice distance from the fire cooking pit and a great river view. The grounds are clean and well cared for with several amenities. The hosts Sam and Jim were helpful, quick to respond, and friendly but also left us our privacy. We did find some walking paths around the property after talking with Sam. The campground ended up full by Saturday night but remained fairly quiet. Our highlight was the variety of birds. We were so fascinated we downloaded a bird sounds app while we were there and we ended up not playing our typical card games because we were busy with binoculars and the app and bird identification.

James is a great host. I felt very safe camping there. The property is behind a gate with an access code. So only other people camping there have access to your site. Sites 5, 6 and 8 were my favorites. Fire ring is great and the wood that is available for purchase is excellent.

We really enjoyed our stay and found James to be easy going and diligent about keeping everything well maintained. Camping alongside the river was really peaceful- we saw eagles, kingfishers, and some Canada geese with their new goslings. Great stay.

Absolutely beautiful camp site. It was quiet and restful. Host did a wonderful job providing firewood for us. Our dogs were happy! We didn’t have a path to the water but were listening to the river throughout our stay.

This is our second time staying here, and once again, it did not disappoint. You won’t find a better riverside campsite at this price anywhere in the region. We stayed right next to the beautiful, flowing Molalla River—our site came with power hookups and WiFi, which is a rare bonus for a site this close to nature.
James, the owner, clearly takes pride in maintaining the campground. The porta-potties were clean and regularly serviced, and the entire area felt safe and well cared for. He’s even built a covered common area deck, which was a great spot to relax or socialize with other campers.
Each site has its own fire pit and river access, making it a perfect place to unwind. And if you’re looking to treat yourself, James also offers heated soaking tubs for an additional fee—a perfect way to end the day.
We’ll definitely be back again.

Best place!!!!! Quiet, perfect views, riverfront. Clean. Water, bathrooms, showers, even hot tub if desired. Our 1st hipcamp and now we’re hooked. 🤩🤩🤩 Loved that it’s so easy to book. Public park campgrounds are booked for the year. Hipcamps seem so safe and well kept.

We booked here same day after finding out the state park campground was closed. Site 1 requires good backing skills for a van (vehicle length is noted on site info), is private, but no views of the river. Big enough for a tent and a van. There is a bit of road noise but not too bad. It quiets down after hours. In hindsight, I’d go with site 4 or 7 for the views. Port a pottie was clean and solar lights were very helpful at night. We didn’t use the shower. We really enjoyed seeing and hearing the cattle and horses (across the river). James was a very accommodating host.

Molalla Ripple is my absolute fave place to van camp with my pups. The property is always well kept and James is a great host. I was lucky enough to get some really warm days while I was there and was able to jump in the river a few times 🥶

We loved this camp! We came to see the Tulip festival it wasn’t far from it and many other great things to explore. Being next to the river was so peaceful 😌, and I highly recommend any of the add ons especially the river hot tub that was so nice after a day exploring.

Our go-to campground, always an amazing experience. On our fifth visit, we brought our friends and created our own mini neighborhood. James has always been responsive and place is well maintained, there were two porta potties and both were clean, hot showers and hot tub are available and perfect for the cold weather. The current of the river is strong, it was our lullaby with birds singing in the morning, ohhh and the rooster! It was fun to be that close to the river and run to the hot tub to warm up from a cold plunge. Thanks to James our host as always for accommodating us in his humble place. Highly recommended!
