Mt. Rainier-Carbonado Containers #3
Good enough
This campsite is in an amazing location, very close to the Carbon River entrance to Mount Rainier National Park. It was quiet and in nice forest, and the host placed cute solar lights around the site. A very large log was repurposed as a nice sitting spot at the end of the parking spot to the camp.
However, it was extremely expensive considering what you get at the site. There is no running water, no power, no dump, and only a porta-pottie (though it was relatively clean and looked well-maintained).
One problem was the entrance to the property. It was marked with orange cones on the highway, as was told to us, but even with that landmark we weren't sure we should pull in. There were many barking dogs and dismantled cars in the yard and it really wasn't obvious at all that there were camp spots once you pass all that. We parked at the driveway and called the friends we were meeting there before daring to drive in. Because I was the one who found this spot and booked it, I was pretty embarrassed about the first impression!
Once in, the forest is nice and quiet and made for a nice night of camping, but it also looks like they are packing in more spots. There was one being dug in right next to us, which, once being rented, could make the place feel very crowded indeed. So, though it was conveniently located, I would not be likely to stay here again.

This is such a neat, unique spot to stay at! The containers are stocked and set up really well. The host was super friendly and helpful, loved the little touches like keychains for the guests and lights set up along the road to the campsites so you can see where you're going at night. Outdoor bathrooms were very clean as well. Would definitely come back here!

Very nice place
Very secluded and quiet. Deer and elk pass through the sites. Thick cover with lots of shade. As the ad said phone service is limited all around the cabonado area. We have a booster and could not draw any service. Very well kept and owner is very friendly and helpful. We hope to visit again.

Good spot to stay overnight! Level gravel pullouts with picnic tables in a wooded area. The small lights around helped locate the sites late at night.
