Stargazing, Dog Fun, Wildlife
2023 Perseids, etc.: Great, open spot for watching Perseid meteor showers. We watched scads of them through the night. If host would be willing to turn off the outdoor lights, viewing would be even better.
Happy, safe dog! The pastures have split-rail fencing plus wire fencing, so my dog could chase tennis balls! He checked the perimeter but couldn't find a way out. I kept a close watch, but I don't think there were foxtails. I'll check paws, ears, eyes, nostrils, and other sensitive spots now that we're home.
Wildlife: Quiet setting crammed with wildlife. A marsh with attendant bird- and wildlife is within earshot. I needed to get home but would love to know for next time whether you can walk or drive there to bird (verb). Lots of owls!!! A herd of lovely, softly whistling elk.
Tips: Come before dark, and keep a sharp eye out for deer and other critters on the main road! Young deer with their parent crossed in front of me on the way in and on the way out.
Also, use navigation cues other than "a green gate." If you overshoot on the dirt road, you will find many green gates.
BYO potty and large water containers (as host states). This site gets full sun, and dog and I needed lots of water.
Soil is compacted; if you're over 50, you might want extra padding or a cot for sleeping under the stars.

Scenic and serene!
The north pasture was a great spot to tow our 26’ travel trailer (all spaces would’ve worked well for us). We enjoyed the peaceful quiet (minimal traffic noise), beautiful sunsets, and ample sun for our solar panels. The area is picturesque and the host responded quickly to any messages. We would camp here again and recommend this place to other travelers. AT&T service is weak but Starlink comes in perfectly.
