We love our woodsy off grid lifestyle and are excited to share with others! About this land: We have a beautiful, thickly forested 16 acres 30 minutes from coastal Belfast near the Common Ground fairgrounds and Unity Pond / Lake Winnecook in Unity. We live in Wabanaki Alliance territory, on unceded Passamaquoddy land. A right-of-way going through the property offers great viewing, walking, biking, ATVing, horseback riding, birding, xc skiing, or snowmobiling. Bushwack to a swimming hole to escape the bugs and heat. Or, give us tips on our disc golf half-course (lots of putting). You will select from a variety of primitive campsites (all more than 150 feet from parking!) offering private commune with nature, and the nearby town of Unity can satisfy your need for near music, drinks, or socializing. We recommend you bring your own water, as our well is of questionable quality and far to haul. Please do not bring outside wood. We have rentable bikes and kayaks so long as you have a way to carry them (no racks). We have a beautiful, thickly forested 16 acres 30 minutes from coastal Belfast near the Common Ground fairgrounds and Unity Pond / Lake Winnecook in Unity. The Secret Forest
The campsite was peaceful. It was just far enough in the woods that it allowed you the illusion of escaping to a secret forest. If you wish to visit the sanctuary, make sure you drive carefully on the road, listen to the wind in the trees and bring a wagon to carry your belongings to stay awhile.

This is a fantastic site if you want to get away from it all and be in the stillness of the Maine woods. The hosts were very communicative, and helpful to us getting set up when we arrived. I camped at the tent site, and from there you can see the yurt, however nobody was staying there while we were there so we literally heard no humans besides ourselves while we were there. But either way, I would go back!

This was a perfect primitive campsite, that was private and in a beautiful location. Perfect distance to walk to the Common Ground Fair (took about an hour and was a beautiful trail). Short walk to campsite and was fully stocked with firewood ready to have a lovely night!

Thank you for sharing your land, Catherine! We felt very comfortable and slept very well in the quiet and dark woods. Our hosts were available immediately upon our arrival to welcome us and show us the way. They even cleared out another flat space for us since we were a larger group! The ATV trail was fun to explore in the morning. It led through the forest, meadows, and across a creek.

This was our first time using Hipcamp and Cathrine and Marks land exceeded our expectations. They were hospitable, accommodating, and very kind. Campsite was secluded and stocked with wood and hand washing water. Would camp here again.

It is an interesting site. I was quite off-putting by the distance I had to schlep my equipment and when I got to the sight there were no areas that had been prepared for a tent. I might not have responded so strongly had I bee notified in advance of these issues but then I probably would have found another place.
