Amazing camping experience
We loved staying at Geoff’s property. It had everything you needed and the amazing view and cozy touches he’s added made it an incredibly experience. It was such a treat to have the property to ourselves and feel secluded yet close to anything we needed.

Camping with sunning sunset view!
Geoff’s campsite is awesome! Prefect place for friends and family! The view was amazing! It’s nice that the tent site offer bell tent! It’s really spacious and comfortable! The bathroom is also very clean. Geoff was very nice and chill.
We definitely had a lot of great time!
Will come again ❤️

Don't miss these views!
Yosemite Garden Camp was my favorite campsite on our trip to Sequoia/Yosemite! We were lucky to be the only campers while visiting and enjoyed the amazing views of site 2 (trust me, if it's available, book site 2). It's a short walk into the field but has amazing views of the mountains and of a vineyard behind the property. There's also a toilet in a separate bathhouse (no shower) for use, a covered patio with chairs, picnic tables, and a firepit. There are even a few sites to pitch a hammock or two! It's a quick 13 or so minute ride to Groveland which has plenty of options for food. I recommend Kevin N Randi's Old Fashioned Meat Market for sandwiches (these folks are wonderful), Cocina Michoacana for some quality Mexican food (and fabulous service), and Iron Door Saloon or Around The Horn Brewing for drinks. Quick note: follow the directions closely to the campsite (so you don't miss it) and having a high-clearance vehicle is recommended. Definitely take the opportunity to stop through here if you're in the area!

Bucolics
Stunning camp and vista, minutes from charming Groveland, hour from Yosemite. If you want to be alone, far from the annoyance of an overcrowded campsite, the gaggle and babble of too-large RVs, park here. View is breathtaking and amenities suffice. Road isn’t as bad as people are saying, unless you’ve never left the city. No neighbors in site. Good times.

Great stargazing
Great location, about 30 min to Yosemite. Very peaceful area in the woods with great stargazing at night. Each site has level ground for your tent and a picnic table. There is a bathroom up top which was very clean and modern. The road getting to the site is a pretty rough dirt road. Would not recommend driving a car up it, svu or a truck recommend. Geoff is very responsive and a great host.

Beautifully Bumpy
Driving up to the site was an adventure to say the least. I was happy we had a Jeep Wrangler to navigate the very rough dirt road. Once there, we unpacked and prepared for the night. We had the entire site to ourselves. It was a gorgeous view and enjoyed watching the stars and planes. We didn't utilize the shower but the bathroom was clean and full of informational material to read while hanging out. It was so peaceful and quiet. In the morning we made our breakfast on our camping stove and took advantage of the Adirondack chairs near the vineyard. I would absolutely recommend this to adventurous folks that don't mind a little off-road experience.

Secluded Vineyard Walk-In (Site 3)
Wow, what a beautiful view! We got there just before the sun set - we recommend getting there sooner to set up as it is quite the trek from the car to the platform and we were chasing light. It’s also quite an incline so pace yourself and limit the trips you take. We did none of this and really got a work out lol
They’re not kidding about the road - 4 wheel drive is necessary and you will feel like a shaken maraca by the end of it, even going 5 mph the whole time. Worth. It. GPS will definitely try to take you to private roads so follow the hosts written directions and you’ll be fine.
Also, don’t try cooking meat - we accidentally summoned about 20+ Bees that relentlessly devoured our breakfast. This made the tear down a little nerve wracking as we had to shield ourselves and work around them.
It should be noted that the hot water valves were taken off the sinks - none available.
The private, stunning view left us fulfilled regardless of the bumps in the road ;)

The walk in site Site #3 is secluded, yes, but also sunset heaven. And the facilities (common bathroom and outdoor shower) exceed expectations. Especially the Moxie wall art which truly speaks my language. An acquired taste.

Breathtaking Views
Geoff's site was absolutely gorgeous. We chose Site 3 (the walk in) and are very happy we did. Sunset will take your breath away. We actually had the whole place to ourselves. Happy we had all wheel drive as the previous comments about the road in ring true. Groveland is getting back on their feet in the post covid world, but we had a great dinner at Iron Door Saloon before heading up to camp and a nice cup of joe at Mountain Sage before heading into Yosemite. Would recommend and definitely stay here again! Look forward to trying the wine one day ;)

Great Sunset views
Geoff’s site was just what we look for in a Hipcamp. Private, great view, and a fun off-road experience to get there! We had site 3, which is not accessible to drive into. We kept our cooking gear and stove up by the car so we didn’t have to schlep twice. It was totally fine and enjoyed the experience of having cooking nearer to the communal area and bathroom, but our site just for sleeping. If you have littles or a lot of gear, I’d suggest booking a different site than site 3 to avoid the extra walk. If you’re traveling lite, you will be rewarded with a great view!

Great spot close to Yosemite
Lovely stay!!!
Pros:
-nice and private
-gorgeous sunsets
- bathroom/shower/dishwashing sink were great!
-easy drive to and from Yosemite
-tent spot was flat and comfortable
-lovely hammock and lots of picnicking tables
-camp host was helpful and responsive
Cons:
- no shade- bring a pop up shade situation if you plan to spend daylight hours at the campsite and plan to get more ice. We camped over 4th of July and didn’t spend daytime at the site but by 7am it was already hot and fully exposed to sun. Had to refill our cooler with ice each day
- the road really does suck lol. But my forester handled it just fine going at a slow speed.

Shady Oak Car Camping (Site 4)
Lovely spot but very difficult road
Shady Oak was a lovely oasis in the Sierra foothills about 45 minutes from the Yosemite Park entrance. We felt we were the only people for miles around. The site has many mature oaks with dry grass and a working vineyard. The bathroom was fully functional and the outdoor shower was greatly appreciated, especially on dry, hot, dusty days. We took showers in the evening and the morning, so the solar panels didn't help much, but the water from the tank wasn't cold, so it was quite refreshing.
The only downside is the road. It's about 4 miles from Hwy 120 to the campsite, on roads that grow worse the farther you go. The last 1.5 miles on a dirt road that barely qualifies as a road. It is steep, deeply rutted and potholed. We have a high-clearance AWD truck and we had to inch along at 3-4 mph. It routinely took 20 minutes to make the 4-mile trip into town.
If you don't mind the bucking bronco drive, we would highly recommend the site. But don't even think about it with a 2WD sedan.

I had a great time staying at the Garden Camp for 3 nights while we hiked in Yosemite and Stanislaus NF. Geoff was extremely responsive and I appreciate him answering all my questions ahead of time. There were beautiful views from the garden camp and the amenities like the shower and bathroom were clutch. I do recommend bringing a lantern or headlamp to hang on the wall to take a shower and use the bathroom after dark. We had lanterns to hang which worked fabulously. Also, we were able to make it down the road with a Subaru Forestor but I am unsure if we had brought our Subaru Impreza if it would have made it down even with AWD due to the depth of some of the ruts. I would love to come back to this campsite and would highly recommend it to anyone else willing to stay.

Sweet spot-very private, great view
Loved Geoff's place. We stayed in the lower site 3 3, down the hill below the vineyard. Lovely private spot with great view, amazing sunsets, and a table to sit at. Site offers a very nice shared bathroom, outdoor shower, big comfy hammock and fire pit.

Great place. Campsite was clean and included an outdoor shower with hot water, a bathroom, and two other sinks that could be used for washing clothes and doing dishes. The campsite is a bit far (just under an hour) from the Yosemite entrance, but if you're planning a short trip and can't find camp sites inside of Yosemite, I would certainly recommend this place.

Shockingly beautiful, private, off the beaten trail… while still having some key creature comforts (running water with easily accessible sinks and bathroom, etc).

Yosemite Garden Camp Tent Site 2
Great remote site. Horrible road.
Take note of the special vehicle requirements. We rented a pickup truck based on the site owner's warnings. If we had encountered rain, only a 4WD vehicle would have been able to pass. Travel time from this site to Yosemite Village is approximately one hour.
Travel challenges aside, it is a marvelous remote site, with a beautiful view, particularly at sunset, and good amenities (flush toilet, potable running water, solar heated shower, level and smooth tent sites). There is no electricity for campers.
Tip: To get heated water for the shower, turn on the shut off valve located on the output side of the solar water heater.
