Great stay near petrified forest.
We had a good experience! The place is great if going to petrified national park. The only issue we had is that there is zero signs to direct you to the right place so we were a little lost since it was dark. We tried messaging the host and didn’t get an answer. Tried calling and texting and it said the number wasn’t active anymore. Everyone else gave such rave reviews on how responsive the hosts were and we did not experience that. I also messaged the hosts a few days before arrival and they never responded to that either. Otherwise perfect stay! We had a jeep Cherokee and teardrop camper and it handled fine with the dirt “roads”. I just want to stress that this was not a bad stay. I think hipcamp is glitching and keeps saying I can ONLY submit a low rating but I would not rate this place low at all!

The directions to the camp were unintelligible. We could not find it in the dark. There were no signs for the camp and the road was far too bad for our Dodge Caravan. We finally slept in our vehicle at a truck stop.

A convenient 20 minute drive to Petrified Forest NP. Short drive on a dirt road off the highway to their property but would suggest being there before daylight at least for the first night.

Big skies and lots of quiet
Very quiet, peaceful spot with great views of the big starry desert sky. Don’t come here expecting a developed “campground” - DO come here if you are looking for a nice quiet spot near Petrified Forest and Holbrook.

Very friendly people who are also extremely pet friendly. Tried to accommodate as much as possible which was greatly appreciated especially since we came on a windy day. Awesome view of the stars.
