116 acres of hills and dells. Miles of hiking trails marked and well maintained. A small pond and beautiful labyrinth. Over 50 acres of deep wilderness woods. General Lee and his troops once camped here. But they cleaned up pretty good, so all you can really see is the old spring and wagon road. This is a working herb and small fruit farm. We have been experimenting with all kinds of exotic herbs and trees. Some make it, many don't. We sell dried herb teas. In addition we have 5 different kinds of bamboo. We use the bamboo for so many things. In the 5 people per site we are considering adults, not children... bring a whole crew of kids (try to have enough supervision - if there is such a concept!) The kids have such a great time out here... it is amazing. They love the labyrinth! It seems like we made this place for the kids in ourselves and when actual kids see it they go wild. The last bunch were running and yelping with their picked flowers all round and round in the labyrinth for hours! Also, if you want peace and quiet - and we have children booked - we will put you out at one beautiful remote campsites away from all the kids running and singing.

Site 8 Deer Run Hilltop
Good location; great host
This is our second time at this location. It's convenient to Lake Orange and not too far from where we live. My brother and I have enjoyed the easy access and great tent camping sites on this his land. The Unionville Brewery is just a few minutes away in case you don't have a lot of luck at the lake. Good option if you're looking to come out of the woods for good beer and pizza. Donald is a great host. Once he guides you to the lot and gives you a run down of the land, he makes sure you're all set and then leaves the the guests to themselves. Super nice guy and has setup some great locations on the property.

Site 9 - Turkey Knob
We really enjoyed the privacy of our site and the amenities of wood/water provided. However, we had issues with check in. We followed the check in instructions explicitly but ended up waiting over 50 minutes to hear back from the host, all while we were just waiting at the entrance of his property, unsure where our specific site was located. A map of the property was not provided, so after not hearing from the host we ventured out to try to find our site but were unable to. Eventually it was sorted out and he arrived to show us to our site but we lost over an hour of our time just waiting. Additionally, we were displeased with the level of sound at our site…. Unsure if it was an adjoining neighbor or another site being used, but we heard a loud truck/ATV several times in the evening, including at 11:30pm when it woke up our 10month old because of its volume and proximity. Again, we loved the privacy and being able to have our dogs off leash and explore, but if campers are expected to wait for the host to check in then the host should make themselves available.

Site 3 - Salamander Loop
Very close in to the house for purchasing farm fresh eggs. Close to the composting toilet. Wide open space for pets or kids. Don was super friendly and helpful—brought us wood and a cooler of water. Thanks Don!

Site 8 Deer Run Hilltop
Name is fitting!
We loved our stay at the 7/8 campsite which was well off the beaten path! We enjoyed walking all the trails and the labyrinth was really neat (even in the rain). Very peaceful. Would stay here again!

Site 6 Meadow overlook
Mushrooms and some amazing sights
Absolutely a beautiful nice spot for those who want to be close to a city but far enough away that you don't have to deal with people. The trails are a lovely part of this property. The mushrooms were amazing during our trip. (In the fall) I highly recommend this campsite for families with kids who are nervous about back woods camping. The sky was even dark enough to make out the faint traces of the milky way. You can also see the occasional plane as it comes in for a landing at the local airport.
