This is by far the best camping spot I’ve been to!! The site was gorgeous with lots of space to for our tent and a comfortable camp fire. The host was beyond generous, making it hard for us to leave the next morning. The farm animals are friendly and the host showed us around. I was very pleased with our whole experience and will be returning to this spot again in the future! Thank you so much for such a lovely time!

This site was fantastic! nice and secluded with a great view of the sky for star gazing. The host was super friendly and took us around the property, introducing us to all of their friendly animals. Would definitely come back!

Kim and Indi's land is a beautiful hilltop site set just far enough off the highway to provide both privacy and convenience. They both met us at check-in and gave a warm welcome. The views from the hilltop site were amazing both day and night. Parking truely is limited to 2 vehicles and there is a pretty steep walk up to the site. The site has a slight slope to it as well, but that's expected in this region. The provided firewood was plentiful and dry, and Kim's blueberry muffins were absolutely delicious - well worth it! This place is a gem and we were lucky to call it home for a few nights.

What an EXCELLENT spot to camp. My family and I loved our night there. Kim and her family were so welcoming and kind. The campsite was private and peaceful--the only night noises were cows mooing, no generators or noisy neighbors! We will definitely book again next year when we return to the area. And we highly recommend the blueberry muffins! Thank you Kim and Indi!

I had a wonderful stay at this camp site. The instructions for how to access the property and get to the camp area were very easy to follow. There was a wheel barrel available to carry my stuff up the hill to the camp site. This was so helpful since I had extra blankets for the cold nights! The goats were super adorable and friendly! They seemed to love being petted. I had great cell service. Very nice but you probably want to turn on airplane mode if you're looking to disconnect. I highly recommend the blueberry muffins. I only got them for breakfast for one morning but wish I had done so for both mornings! They were delicious. The host was super friendly and helpful.

This was a beautiful spot. Peaceful fires under the stars. Felt very private. Very accomodating, attentive hosts. And there are goats and wild turkeys! Great experience that has left me feeling refreshed.

Tent camping on a quiet hillside. Had the hill all to ourselves for a nice, peaceful couple of days. Thoughtful and considerate hosts provide a small tent so one might have some privacy while using the "bathroom," and firewood (for a small extra fee) in their firepit. Loved the animals too. This was a lovely little farm, quiet and secluded. Picnic table, firepit and camp toilet were all provided, and all that we needed. Interacting with the goats was an added bonus. We had a great time!

We loved tent camping at Hobbit Hill! Super easy directions and the campsite was spacious, private, and beautiful. Gorgeous view over the ridge line, and plenty of grassy space for the dog to explore. We loved saying hi to the many animals on site and the half dozen eggs were a welcome surprise that made our breakfast 10x tastier. A perfect weekend away!

Kim was such a lovely host! She greeted us in advance, providing clear directions for smooth arrival. When we pulled up, she was busy working hard on the farm but stopped to ensure we were all set and to offer us a tour / chance to meet the animals.
Winston the dog was a charmer who happily showed us to our camp, Margaret the head goat in charge sweetly nibbled our laces and the oats that Kim provided, Bella the horse had a curious and kind demeanor, the cows and chickens/rooster were the faint background of our peaceful morning, and the guinea fowl were hilariously afraid of us - running away screaming anytime we got close or walked by.
All of their farm practices and animal husbandry choices seemed very thoughtful and focused on sustainability. For example, Kim spoke to how they used the guinea fowl to mitigate ticks naturally.
The site is a large lightly sloped field, through a gate and up a small hill. There’s privacy, lots of room, the grass is trimmed, a compost toilet w portable tent, a picnic bench, and a fire pit. Parking is on a private drive, and a wheelbarrow is available for moving things from car to campsite if needed.
We watched the sunset behind a large oak tree, and enjoyed a sunny breezy stay.
Proximity to Harrisonburg and Shenandoah make this a great home base for hikes and other explorations.
Clean up was easy and Kim offered us a farm market / coffee shop recommendation on our way out.

Kim and Indi made us feel very welcome and happy at their accommodations! They guided us to the site which was beautiful and peaceful, and the pop up toilet was notably super clean. They even gave us some fresh eggs and offered for us to feed their mini goats and their horse in the morning— this was such a fun highlight for my group from the city! Highly recommend the spot to anyone looking for a private site in the area and any animal lovers.

Thank you so much to Kim and Indi —We camped on their gorgeous farm and they were incredibly kind and generous. Even helped jump our car this morning when it wouldn’t start. Muffins on the morning of my partner’s birthday and saying hi to the goats was an extra plus. Best wishes to you both, thank you!! 10/10 would recommend. Even the drive out is beautiful.

The property is peaceful and Kim and Indi are thoughtful hosts. The wheelbarrow limited the trips between the car and up to the campsite. The dinner was delicious — we packed up the leftover to take home for lunch this week.

Great place to stay. Very beautiful and quiet. Kim and Indi were great hosts with excellent communication about getting there and what to expect. The animals were all charming and the cat showed us the way to the campsite. There is a bit of a hill to get there, but they provide a wheelbarrow for all your gear.

The camp site is on a lovely, super private hill on their beautiful farm — extremely peaceful and a great place to wake up to the sunrise and birds in the morning. My partner and i had such a lovely time at kim and indis beautiful farm. They were great hosts and really went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and that we had the best stay. I would %100 come back to the area just to camp here! The camp site was nice and private, quiet, and had great views. It’s a short drive to some very cool towns and hikes are a short drive away too! This is one of the best hipcamps i’ve been to, make sure you stop in.

We greatly enjoyed staying with Kim and Indi, they were beyond welcoming and the camping area was super nice. There’s a large field that is completely open for your group of campers and the sunrise is exceptional. All of the farm animals were super friendly and fun to say hi to. I would also recommend playing fetch with Winston (the farm dog)! I definitely recommend staying at this spot, also the drive into Harrisonburg is super short.

My partner and I had a wonderful time staying on Kim and Indi's beautiful property! When we got to their house, Kim and Indi welcomed us and provided us with a wheelbarrow to help bring our gear up to the Hobbit Hill site. They had set up with site with fresh cut wildflowers, firewood, a map of the farm, and even some eggs! Their hospitality was much appreciated and we would definitely come back in the future.

We had an amazing weekend camping on Kim and Indi’s land.
The space was quiet and well situated. Our kid adored her time with the animals. We also enjoyed walking the path around the land and enjoying the picturesque views.
