A peaceful campsite in the country. Our campsite is on a private 1 acre section near our residence. You can enjoy watching the wildlife or stargazing at night. On site, you will have a cozy bed, hammock swings, outdoor shower, fire pit with grill, and an outhouse. Access to the nearby creek is just minutes away.
The Magnolia is a great place to escape from the city. Some of the wildlife you may see or hear are cows, squirrels, rabbits, owls, coyotes and our free range chickens. Don't worry, we don't have a rooster to wake you up. Only hens. We do ask that you give us a heads up if you plan to brings dogs so we can keep them in their coop for the day.
Enjoy the stars from the hammock swings or lay a blanket out in the grass. We also allow tent camping for extra people beyond our 2 person limit for the building itself.

We purchased the property as a forest back in 2007. We cut down a little bit of the forest to build our house.
Some of the forest burned down in the great Bastrop wildfire in 2011, but it has grown back.
Native Americans once lived here. Sometimes you can find arrowheads.

Lost Pines camping is located on a gravel dead-end road. We are in a pine forest and have a two-acre lake on the property that is good for swimming. Bastrop and Buescher State Parks are nearby and easy to access through back roads. Blackberries can be picked for a month or so in springtime. The land is a bit hilly. Downtown Bastrop and Downtown Smithville are both a ten-minute drive away. There are 1 RV site and 1 tent site. The tent site is a hike into the forest. The other is alongside the parking area.

This 5 acres at one time was “Christmas Around the World” and featured a Santa’s Wonderland. The little cottages are long gone but this great 5 acres is only 3 miles from town and is great for easy access for those looking to rest and relax without being in a crowded RV park.
Just a little over 30 minutes away, Buescher State Park offers more than 1,000 acres of woodlands, including loblolly pines and the former state champion cedar elm, Big Tree. The 30-acre Buescher Lake is a highlight with tranquil paddling and boating, plus crappie, catfish, bass, and trout. The park features miles of hiking and biking trails, though serious bikers will want to tackle the challenging but scenic 12-mile road between Buescher and its larger sibling, Bastrop State Park. Plenty of wildlife, including deer, bobcats, armadillos, and more than 250 species of birds, also call the park home.

Beautiful views from every vantage with a high field on one half of the property and a low bottom land near the creek where there are many options for a relaxing, private stay. Chose big sky or a more secluded spot. Incredible wildflowers on display in the spring. The property is not bordered by close neighbors or dense housing, just more land so sunsets and rises are wonderful and open. Low ambient light pollution at night means the stars are very bright (and so are the fireflies)! If tent camping, please do not bring glass containers, also you must pack out all garbage and waste.

With 3 primitive campsites, 2 RV Sites with hookups, and 2 "Glampers" you may see other campers, but each is strategically located to offer the maximum amount of privacy. I reside on property, but will only interact if you need something. The town of Round Top offers music, shopping, dining, and entertainment and Brenham is only 20 minutes away!
