Weekend Trip to Unique Bay Front Camping

This was a great spot to stay at with our RV. Our kids loved the beach access and we found that it wasn't super windy in comparison to the more coastal areas. We also enjoyed being able to walk the stretch and keep an eye on our kiddos from where we parked. The instructions for entry were very clear and the spot was easily accessible, and it fit our 39ft RV comfortably. We were able to fly kites, hang out on the beach, and our kiddos swam a bit while the water was out due to tides. It was also within driving distance of aberdeen (20 mins or so) and 15 minutes of westport. We'd be happy to visit again some day!

2 nights at Unique Bay Front Camping

We had a great 2-day get-away with our campsite only 30 feet from the beach. At low tide, I was able to walk/slog my way to the old (1890s old) docks/pier-posts several hundred yards into the bay ... er, I was 100 yards shy but close enough to be very impressed by the significant number of posts still out there. The property is clean, well maintained (everything is good working order) and secure (gated entrance/exit). I always look forward to having a firepit to cook dinner and the firewood bundle provided is a good amount of wood for $5. I appreciated being able to dump the tanks on-site and the dumpster for trash disposal. Shelby is very responsive to inquiries and corrected "my" site # booking mistake very quickly.

My wife and I stayed at Squatch Spotter full hookup site. The site was easy to access, very spacious, and easy set up for our 28’ TT. It was a short walk to the river which was very nice. Tyler was very easy to communicate with. We will definitely be back.

We had fun camping next to the River and watching the ships go by, then looking them up to see where they're going/where they've been. Lots of great birding too, warblers, Bewick's Wren, Osprey, Eagles, etc. As others have said, you're near the road, but there's very little traffic. It felt private, had plenty of room. I did see that one reviewer found the site flooded, so maybe not a good winter spot. A little investment/improvement would be nice for the price, the "table", which is a pallet nailed to a stump, is falling apart. A picnic table, and bathroom would be awesome! Still very cool piece of property, was glad we got to check it out.

Highly recommend this spot! Doug was such a kind and friendly host, and the location was beautiful! Despite being somewhat close to the back of the house, it felt very removed and private. The river access was very easy, and the river itself was gorgeous! We were delighted to spend the day on the bank, enjoying the view and a lovely camp fire. We have a 14-foot teardrop camper and had no problem with the site, but I’m pretty comfortable backing up with it. If you’re not, it could be a bit tricky to access the site with a tow behind.

All 5 sites were flat, spacious, had all noted amenities and were right up to the beach. Nice and quiet but I met some really nice neighbors. Plenty of wood for a campfire. Glad to hear they're open year round. I plan on being back. Very nice location and hosts.

There are river otters , beavers, a resident herd of elk often on or along the lane to the property!, Barred owls, which are hooting as I write , deer, a pair of bald eagles that nest downstream and a diversity of other wildlife. We have a blueberry patch and 15 heirloom apple trees that guests will be welcome to pick fruit for their breakfast and lunches for hiking /biking adventures when in season . During spring / summer the soapstone run remains deep enough for swimming. I am a mostly, retired restoration ecologist with a place based knowledge of the north coast and will be happy to share “ locals only “ hikes and special experiences you won’t find on the internet for north coast exploration. My intention is to provide a no impact/ sustainable camping site near the beach that are not available elsewhere near CB and Seaside. It is a natural pad for your RV on river rock and wood chips as a base surrounded by native temperate rainforest just outside your door . Sea run trout use the “ soapstone run” from July through October and can be caught ( ideally on a fly rod ) at dawn and dusk with steelhead and salmon from October to March . It’s considered one of the very best steelhead runs on the Necanicum. There is a river cobble / gravel bar that is perfect for evening campfires only a few steps from the parking pad. It can accommodate RVs up to 24 feet to park in a forest glade setting just a few steps from the river . I live at the end of an easement road that will require campers to drive Slowly to the RV site. Campers will be provided some camp fire wood, there are no other amenities on the I look forward to sharing the special place we live and not well know hiking experiences and other activities with hipcampers .

(This is a leave no trace site. You must take all of your garbage with you!) Just 1.5 hours from Seattle, Portland, Mt. Rainier, Mt. St. Helens, & Olympic National Park, just 3 minutes from Rainbow Falls State Park and 4 minutes from Willapa Biking Trail! We are located on top of Bunker Hill nestled between the Dunn creek and Chehalis river. Our property is 56 acres of mixed biomes including multi-generational forests, open meadows, and creek side trails. We are located right off Chandler Road, off of Highway 6. You turn onto Labri road (white sign) and you're on the property after going through a gate. Meander down the road past a red barn and several buildings on your right. Through the second gate, the dispersed camping site offers various sites for camping attached to a main trail that parallels the Dunn creek down to the Chehalis river. They are conveniently accessible off the logging roads which cross with Labri road after you've passed through the second gate. If you take the logging road to the left (look for a blue and white ribbon) you will come up to a tree line where you can park (another blue and white ribbon) and either take the trail to the left or right where you will find ample places to camp. You may camp along the trail or closer to the creek. The most ideal spot is right after you park near the blue and white ribbon if you walk North you'll see a site marked with an orange and white ribbon. This site has easy access to the creek but is still on a hill. There are four RV spots with full onsite hook-up. Two of the RV sites are paved and lit with ground lights and are prioritized for heavier rigs. The other two sites are on grass. We have two RV sites with no hook up (boondocking) but bathroom and shower access. We do not allow dumping of grey water or sewage at our property but there is a dump station just 1 minute away at Rainbow Falls State Park. The site is located on a hill so you get very nice view of sunsets and sunrises. For those who enjoy bird watching the nearby fruit trees bring in many birds. We are an ideal location for those who love the outdoors or just want to have private family events. 6 mi from Jones Creek Brewing, 7 mi from Evey's Cafe & Pe Ell, 20 mi from I-5, 69 mi Westport Quiet hours are from 11pm - 8am.

Twisted Tree Camp s a 13 acre property about 5 miles north of Long Beach, Washington. The property is long and skinny, we have built road that accesses the back of the property. The campsite is in the middle of the woods, you can wake up to many birds singing and no neighbors in sight. In the evening you can listen to the frogs singing while you stare at th campfire. The road winds thru the trees and this is not suitable for vehicles longer than 23 feet or wider than 8 feet. There are multiple twisted trees along the road as you drive in to the campsite. We have recently built the road to the campsite at the back of the land so there is still evidence of recent construction along the road. There are two cameras on site - one at the entrance along Pacific Way and one by the campsite at the end of the road. Cameras are there to monitor the site after hipcampers have left and will not be on while campers have rented the space.

Fun towns also nearby are Astoria, OR, just a 15 minute drive south and Oysterville and Ocean Park are a quick 25 minute drive North! The Rodeo Grounds are located on Sandridge Road in Long Beach. The 2024 Long Beach Rodeo is July 27th and 28th, 2024. Limited horse stalls are available to rent during this time. But Rhett's Ranch is more than just a venue—it's a place where memories are made and cherished. Animals are not typically at the property however, at special events or extended stays (4+ nights) visitors can encounter a menagerie of animals, from mini ponies and donkeys to goats, pigs, and cows. offering up an area on our property for clean, friendly, quiet campers that want to get out of the city and enjoy some peace and quiet. We are located in Banks, Oregon. We are approximately 45 minutes west of downtown Portland. Our camping area is about 5 acres and offers something for everyone. If you have a large RV and need a safe and quiet spot to stay for the night, we got you. We have a large fire pit, Adirondak chairs, a large picnic table, and a swing set for the kids. Badminton and cornhole available on request. Family get-togethers or birthday parties are welcome! We are located just 1.5 miles from The Banks-Vernonia Trail. Bike campers are welcome! Feel free to bring along your 4-legged friends as well. We do not have a fence, so if you do not trust your dog of a leash, please keep them tied up. We have a lot of deer that pass through and untrained dogs love chasing them. Banks has a few restaurants to choose from: Subway, Dairy Queen, Main Street Pizza, Mary's Mexican Food, Hop-Cycle Brewing to name a few. There is also a Supermarket in town just in case you forgot your S'mores supplies, Spirits, or campfire wood. We are about 20 minutes away from McMenamins Grand Lodge, in Forest Grove, which hosts some great live concerts during the summer. We have a few fishing spots within about 30 minutes of the property. Hagg lake, Horning's Hideout, Dorman's Pond and the Wilson River are all popular spots. We have clean well water and 50A electrical hookups. We do not offer dumping of black water, but you can empty your tank at the Elks club in Forest Grove (25-minute drive) for free or Camping World over in Hillsboro. I don't mind if you drain your gray water on the property as long as you use a longer hose to keep it away from the immediate camping area. The parking area for RV's is fairly level and easy to get in and out of. During the late summer, our 5 apple trees produce great fruit. We also have 2 plum trees, and some blackberries. Feel free to pick what you would like. Currently, we do not have any public bathroom facilities available for campers, so please plan accordingly. Please, only book if you have an RV with working plumbing. **We will not accept tent campers** Please feel free to ask me any questions, we are willing to make accommodations for special situations/events if possible!

When you book a site the fee you are paying is a trespass fee, per day rather you are here for the day or stay as our guest. we use hip-camp and other platforms to manage days and how many people are here at one time. We have an open four acre field with lots of shade trees that is regularly mowed and manicured; it comes with 575 feet of private Cowlitz River access on Horseshoe Bend near Castle Rock, Washington. Relax and enjoy the serenity or go fishing! Depending upon the season, you can fish from our bank for steelhead, salmon, smelt and sometimes even sea run cutthroat trout! Fishing does vary depending upon the time of year. Go online to www.wdfw.gov for legal requirements and https://www.mytpu.org/community-environment/fish-wildlife-environment/cowlitz-fish-report for further fish run details. You can bring your own fishing gear and bait, or rent from us for a small fee. Bring your kayak, canoe or just float the river. Shuttle service is also available for a small fee. There are also many birds to watch: bald eagles, golden eagles, Canadian geese (with their babies in the spring), osprey, hummingbirds, chicadees, nuthatches and many more...at Riverbend Retreat you really can just get away from it ALL and unwind! We do have lots of blackberrys too, so in the late summer there will be plenty to pick. We look forward to your visit. RV's must be self conatined as we have no hook up's, however we can fill you up with non potable water when you arrive. If power is truly needed we do have a generator you can rent for a small fee.

Relax at the River

We have a 1/2 acre property on the Cowlitz River in the middle of Cooks Ferry Park in Castle Rock WA. We bought the property to relax in a beautiful setting close to home. We only live 15 minutes away. The property is made up of dredge spoils from when Mt. Saint Helens blew and is inside of a park where people can go to fish and enjoy the river. There are only 8 lots privately owned and we are the first lot that you come to. There is plenty of room for an RV. Guests can also tent camp or stay in our shack that has a sleeper sofa. There are snacks, a sign in book, an axe, briquets, a fire extinguisher, and other items the shack. There is a picnic table, fire pit, BBQ, and wood stove. There is a porta potty on the property. We value your privacy. We do have cameras on the property that are on when no one is there. Once a Hipcamper arrives at the property, they are turned off. We also keep our travel trailer there to enjoy when we can. We will never be there camping when you are there. In the summer, we sometimes kayak. We put in upriver and get out at the property. If it is booked at that time, we will always check first to see if it is okay for us to get out there. If you continue going past our property, there are some nice rock beaches with pretty views. People fish there and wade in the water in the summer. Castle Rock is a cute little town with some nice shops, restaurants and bars. I recommend checking it out! We are not picky about check in/check out time. It would only matter if someone else was checking in the day you are checking out. Please ask if you expect to arrive earlier or want to check out later. If your plans change, please cancel through Hipcamp to get a refund.

Batwater Station on Columbia River

Batwater Station is located halfway between Portland and the Oregon Coast on the Columbia River. A private refuge where river otter, beaver, mink, muskrat, seals, raccoons along with threatened Columbia river white tailed deer can be seen. Property has 1,000 feet of boat docks, river deck, and pier. At the pier is a full kitchen, heated bathroom and shower room. Included are 2 outhouses, a fire pit for summer months, a viewing station overlooking the wetlands along with brick charcoal fired barbecue and another propane barbecue. We are committed to your privacy so guests are limited and spread out. High speed internet through out the property. Batwater worked with several agencies when we breeched a levee and flooded 26 acres for salmon and wildlife habitat. Hike along the wetlands and see beaver dams and dens. Batwater is also home for many types of birds including eagles, osprey, tree swallow, purple martins, barn swallows, wood ducks, common and hooded mergansers, mallards, scoots, scaups, grebes, cormorants, great egrets, blue herons, geese and many types of song birds . In the spring and summer see our returning osprey who have. nested on our dock since 2013. There are now 2 osprey platform since a pair of Canada geese choose that as their nesting site as well. Some bald eagles winter here but we have our resident bald eagles Hep and Hope. They arrived in 2003 to start their nest on Crims Island. They still nest there although there old nest tree collapsed in 2020. Many birds migrate here for the winter. Common mammals are river otter, mink, muskrat, raccoons, nutria, coyotes, black tailed and threatened Colombia White Tailed deer. We also are home to native turtles and frogs. Batwater is a working farm with cattle feeding on lush pastures, 2 retired horses and chickens. When eggs are available, we will share some with you. Batwater is a great place to kayak, canoe, paddle board or row during the summer months. We have windy afternoons for windsurfers or sailors. The Columbia River is well known for salmon, and sturgeon. For an extra fee you can moor your larger boat while visiting. There are a volley ball and badminton set ups along with horse shoes during the summer months. We suggest swimming during the summer months when the tide is coming in or slack. You can also walk or drive down to Mayger beach which is popular with locals. There are sandy beaches on Crims island that you can paddle over too. Check out the pictures for more information.

Overview

The northernmost city on the Oregon Coast, at the convergence of the Columbia River and the Pacific Ocean, the Victorian city of Astoria offers great coastal scenery, stately old architecture, and easy access to great hiking options. There are a few private RV-friendly campgrounds and RV parks in Astoria, with more options along the Columbia River and both up and down the coast. A 20-minute drive south, Fort Stevens State Park is one of the largest state park campgrounds in the US, with over 300 electric RV sites, nearly two-thirds of which have full hookups. Even if you don't end up camping at Fort Stevens, it's worth visiting to check out the historic command centers and the adjacent Peter Iredale shipwreck, which sits right on the beach. Just north of Astoria, Long Beach, Washington is another good place to seek out RV camping, with plenty of RV resorts right in town.
