The farm is owned and operated by the Pickering Family, who has been living on the farm since 1884. The property is close to Seattle but feels like a world away!

Tenino is ground zero for the measurement of where one is on the railroad. We fell in love with our farm with its much untouched acres to create a place where people can gather and reconnect with life's natural beauty. We are certified organic, Salmon Safe certified, and pesticide free. Dragons' Gate Gardens is home to many giant crystals and here their beauty works delightfully with the land. The area has gently rolling hills filled with wildflowers during the earlier part of the Summer. Dragons Gate Gardens and Wilds has a hundred and twenty acres to explore. The Skookumchuck River is a little over a mile away where you can enjoy a waterfall and walk along the river with low bank where one can get into the water. Doing so is a great favorite of our guests. There is a giant crystal housed in a gazebo that overlooks the surrounding fields and woods. Time to meditate with the giant crystal in the gazebo can be booked with Kathleen for a fee of $55. We are wild and woolly. We provide a place to experience nature as it simply is. We privilege pollinators above human aesthetics. Wildflowers abound, including various dandelions of which many are edible and healing plants. We encourage converting from lawns to meadow lands being supportive of wild birds and insects. If you like it wild we are the place for you. This is not a resort or English style garden. Tall grass, wild flowers and trees fill the land around you to give you a feeling of full immersion in Nature.

Patrick’s spot was the perfect set up for us while visiting Seattle. We had originally planned one night but extended to 2 just so we could have more time there. If you need a convenient spot to park your RV (ours was 23ft) like we did then I would definitely recommend this site as it was super easy to find and use as a base in Seattle.

We loved the location of Patrick’s Hideaway. We are new to RVing and this was our last stop on a cross country trip from Plymouth, Massachusetts to Seattle, Washington. After hiking trails at Mount Rainier, we needed a place close to the city as we were dropping our new van off to get some customization done in Seattle. Very quiet and private. We met Patrick after we arrived and he is a great host.

In the big city of Seattle I doubt there are many ‘driveway camp spots’ like Patrick’s! We love staying there because it’s so close to downtown, stadiums, museums, restaurants, parks, etc. It’s not fancy but it’s fairly quiet (a few airplanes overhead and a little road noise), level for RVs, easy to connect to 30 amp power, and is next to a lovely perennial garden that has a small private sitting area in it, The camp spots is at the end of a dead end road so there’s little traffic and behind the garden is a wild undeveloped area that buffers much of the city noise.

Patrick was a great host. The description and setting were accurate and we were able to enjoy a lovely view of a garden. The location was so close to T-Mobile park and we felt like we were home away from home. Would love to return next year to catch another Mariners game!

They made an easy access to the river from sites 3 and 4 and I seam a little both days we stayed. The barn is a marvel amd a wonder.sites 3 and 4 are on top of each other, but it was such a lovely place to stay we didn't mind. We got to talk to the former and he was nice. They were having a cool event for the rebel been company on the property.

Weekend Trip to Dragons Gate Gardens & Wilds

The land is 126.5 acres of quiet bliss. None of our noisy WiFi/5G distractions. Just peace and quiet. The ground is relatively flat, making tent and car camping easier, and our site had a fire pit like many of them do. There is a charming outhouse with nighttime twinkle lights, and for garbage, you pack out every last thread and bottle cap of what you brought in. Children and adults (me!) love to watch the friendly cows near the entrance, then you will be guided to your site by one of the two caretakers, who later gifted us some of these unusual and delicious round cucumbers from their garden. Soo good. How kind of them. DGG is a unique place to find your space, and it’s also the perfect setup for large gatherings of hundreds of people.

Staying at Patrick's provided the perfect spot for my partner and me to drop off our trailer and have a fun night in Seattle, seeing some friends and a show. We initially considered camping down at Dash Point State Park, but when we saw Patrick's place on HipCamp, the location couldn't be beat! The spot is charming and we both slept great. Patrick himself is very kind, welcoming, and helpful (we were new to the trailer and nervous about backing down the long driveway... but we did it successfully, and Patrick helped advise us before we started). All in all, I highly recommend staying here!

It was a great overnight stay for young kids. Playing in the river, beautiful sunflowers, bees and a nice walk to the barn. Firepit and table made it easy to roast smores and have a picnic. We would definitely stay again. There was a generator on during the day to pump water to the crops, but it went off early - and Stephanie was a quick communicator. I'd stay again!

We really loved camping here! It's our second time here and the only thing I regret that we didn't discover this place earlier. Fairy Queen and Red Dragon are amazing people! They were so kind to show us around their property and let my daughter to play with their bunnies and see baby cow :) They also offered us some veggies from their garden, it was really sweet and nice gesture! My daughter loves both Fairy Queen and Red Dragon so much and she gets really upset when we have to go home. The campsite itself is very well maintained and kind of secluded which gives you privacy and opportunity to enjoy the nature without other people around. You can purchase a huge bin of wood for just $20 which is amazing deal! No doubts it's our favorite campground and we can't wait to come back here! We love it! Thank you Fairy Queen and Red Dragon for such an amazing weekend! 💞
