Our rental property was once a mini Rail Road with full size locomotive's, train cars, pumper cars and more. My dad & grandpa layed all the tracks & put together the buildings in the 1970's. Once done my grandma sold tickets to the tourist and my grandpa ran the engine around the 7 acre oval track pulling a train car full of happy tourist through the woods over the train bridge and past the big water tower back to their vehicles so they could finish their journies with a drive to Mt. Rainier. There is a lot of history on this property for our family and we hope by sharing it with others they will be able to experience some fun here as well.

PET OWNERS PLEASE READ BEFORE BOOKING: Please declare any pets on the “Who’s Coming” page. We have noticed an influx of owners that do not let us know and show up with dogs as we need to go over additional information. There is no additional fee but since we have livestock roaming freely around the property, to ensure their safety, long leads are highly encouraged especially if dogs do not have exceptional recall. They must be on leash no exceptions since we have had one too many situations with untrained dogs chasing after animals and not listening. Thank you! ___________ Nestled at the foothills of Mount Rainier, we are a serene farm 45 miles away from Seattle. I live here with my partner Khohay who now takes care of his family farm which used to be his late aunts Soma Institute of Structural Integration School (now ran by his brother on Whidbey Island). https://www.soma-institute.org/ We are constantly doing projects around the property to restore, improve and preserve the beauty that it has to offer and would love to share it with other people as we go! AMENITIES/THINGS TO DO: -There is a communal bunkhouse on property available to guests with a flushable toilet and a hot water shower. It also includes a kitchenette and we welcome you to use any of the kitchen/cookware and appliances. Our 2 Frenchies also stay in this building but they love humans and all the attention you can give them! -There is an infrared sauna that can sit up to 3 people located next to the yurt accompanied by a cold plunge as an add-on. -You are welcome to wander around the entire property and grab fruit daily from the trees when in season or have us get you farm fresh eggs from the coop to eat for breakfast. -Say hello to the animals (sheep, goats, chickens, cats and dogs) or go for a walk/run around the countryside roads with walking/running/biking adventures available to you along the beautiful and paved Foothills Trail extending from Enumclaw to Puyallup. -Communal fire pit areas with picnic table and chairs available when fire ban is not in effect. We have a moveable metal one which we can transport to your camp spot if preferred. We sell a milkcrate full of wood for $10 if needed.

Our accommodations include a 24-foot yurt (currently under repair, see below) with a private, semi-attached bathhouse, and a 10 x 20-foot tent cabin with outdoor kitchen and private outhouse with composting toilet. You’ll enjoy the outdoor shower that is available for all guests. The communal fire pit is a great place to roast s’mores and maybe meet new friends. But wait, there’s more: a two-tent campground where we provide the tents, a shared, covered and fully equipped outdoor kitchen, a shared composting outhouse (cleaned at least once a day). Campground has access to shower and fire pit as well. Explore our forest trails leading to the serene wetland, and don't miss our unique 26-foot-wide, 10-foot-tall Woodhenge – a magical spot to relax in a hammock, read a book, or stargaze. Two Frog Bog invites you to immerse yourself in nature and enjoy the variety of accommodations and shared spaces we offer. NEWS  Our property was hit hard in the Bomb Cyclone of Nov '24. Sadly, we lost the Funk House.  The Paisley Paradise yurt was severely damaged and is under repair.  The Dragonfly Den remained unharmed and has been upgraded with the queen bed from the Funk House.  Other areas need rebuilding.  If you've loved this place or wish to visit and would like to help with rebuilding costs, we would be truly grateful.  Read our story at GoFundMe.  https://gofund.me/d44abefc

Camp Lois is old-school camping the way it was meant to be—simple, private, peaceful, and all yours. If you’re looking for a basecamp with one of the best locations near Mount Rainier, this is it. One of the most significant values of Camp Lois is proximity. We are located less than 1 mile from the Nisqually/Paradise entrance to Mount Rainier National Park, which means you can avoid one of the biggest frustrations visitors face: long traffic backups and entrance delays. During peak season, signs posted along the main road often warn of wait times that can stretch up to 3 hours just to get into the park. Staying at Camp Lois means you’re already at the doorstep of adventure, giving you a huge head start on busy days and more time actually exploring Mount Rainier instead of sitting in traffic. Staying here means you’re already practically at the gate, helping you skip much of the stress, maximize your adventure time, and get to Paradise. Camp Lois offers year-round convenience to one of Washington’s most iconic destinations. You can wake up, grab your gear, and be at the gate in minutes. This is true pack-it-in, pack-it-out camping for those who appreciate privacy and simplicity. Your private campsite is all to yourself, offering a peaceful place to unwind after a day in the park. A porta-potty is provided. Camp Lois is also just 0.6 miles from the Nisqually River and the Nisqually dike, giving you quick access to beautiful river views, peaceful walks, and nearby nature right from camp. For hikers, the Wonderland Trail is approximately one mile away, making this an excellent launch point for bigger adventures. If your priority is location, privacy, and easy access to Mount Rainier without the hassle of crowded campgrounds or long park entrance lines, Camp Lois delivers. Bring your gear, pack out what you pack in, and enjoy old-school camping near one of the most breathtaking national parks in the country. The white camper/Camp Lois office is on the campsite property. It will be closed for your privacy during your stay.
