Step through the veil and into The Enchanted Forest — a hidden realm of ancient cedars, rushing creeks, and whispering moss. Just beyond the Ashford town center, this sanctuary invites you to slow down, breathe deeply, and rediscover wonder. Follow winding trails to a waterfall, sit quietly by the fire, and let the forest remind you what stillness feels like. This is more than a campsite — it’s a sacred space, a portal into another dimension of peace and connection.Pitch your tent in a truly beautiful old-growth forest just a few minutes walk from the Ashford town center and the gateway to Mount Rainier. The Enchanted Forest is a peaceful sanctuary filled with towering trees, lush plants, fungi, and wildlife — a place that many guests describe as feeling like stepping into another world. Words can’t quite capture the beauty and energy of this property. There are multiple 2-person dispersed campsites and one large family campsite tucked throughout the forest. These sites are first-come, first-served, and campers staying multiple nights are welcome to explore and move between available sites if they’d like a different view of the forest. Firewood is available for all campsites for a modest fee, payable by cash or Venmo. During your stay you may also have the opportunity to explore a small indoor art space on the property, open to campers during daytime hours (typically 12pm–5pm). This newly opened gallery features unusual and interactive pieces and is still evolving — guests visiting this season will be among the first to experience it. Depending on the timing of your visit, you might also encounter a small outdoor marketplace or other creative projects that occasionally appear around the property. The Enchanted Forest is always growing and changing. *Please note — All campsites are located along a shared forest trail and are in the same general vicinity. Sites are spaced roughly 50 feet apart and separated naturally by plants and trees. You will likely see or hear other campers, as well as my family and occasional guests during your stay. Most visitors enjoy the community atmosphere, though there is still plenty of space throughout the property to explore and find quiet moments in nature. If you prefer something more isolated, this may not be the perfect fit — many people visit specifically to experience and share this unique space. That said, the property itself is quite large. If you find that your assigned site isn’t quite right, there are a few more secluded areas where a tent can often be accommodated. This isn’t the standard setup, but we can usually work something out — I want everyone to feel relaxed and happy during their stay in the Enchanted Forest. Just communicate your needs and I’ll do my best to help

Such a beautiful property, my favorite part was by the creek in the 2 chairs, wished I took a picture. You’ll understand when you see it though. I enjoyed exploring the property, so many things to see. Will be back to check it out in the summer when the teepees and sweat lodge are up and running. Only wished there were spots so you can park and camp in vehicle instead of packing it in. It just happened to work out for us this time as it is off season and only ones there. Host is accommodating and responds in a timely manner.

This was the perfect spot for us to visit the Elbe Hills and Tahoma State Forests. John was a great host and gave us a walk-through even after dark (we arrived later than we had hoped). Walking the trails, creek, bridges, and campsites was fun for my teenager. We got lucky and saw a young blacktail deer in John's driveway.

Had a lovely time and a great stay at the campsite. John was nice and responsive! The land feels very inviting and safe. there were other campers there but didn’t really feel like we were too close together, plenty of space to spread out. Bathrooms were super clean, kitchen is well stocked! Lots of magical little details; really wonderful!

This place is amazing! 20 acres of lush beautiful pnw forest with a year round stream, several dispersed campsites,a few further than the rest for that quiet camper. My son and I were just near the creek, hours of play there, some longer walks around the land exploring, visiting the pond and the summer berries. Compost toilet option, shared outdoor kitchen with all the things you need including refrigeration and camp stove setup. Besides the land, the second highlight was the host crew. John was very welcoming and we got a tour from the host-in-training (9yo kiddo) who was also so generous in offering things up for my kid to play with. Everything was laid back, energy was clear and clean, whole host fam just clearly love up their land and it shows. Will be coming back with the whole family in tow next time

This was truly a magical experience. And worthy of all the positive reviews. The site has so much to offer! I spent a majority of of the time, wondering around looking at all the natural beauty, as well as all the other interesting items to be found. This is my now favorite spot and I can’t wait to come back.

This is such a cute little oasis tucked away near Mt. Rainier. As soon as you arrive, it’s easy to forget your a 2min drive to the center of town. John was a great, friendly host whose property allows for your choice of campsite. This is a great location for a weekend away, especially if you plan to head to Mt. Rainier in the early morning! Couldn’t recommend a better property, I wouldn’t mind visiting the property again~

I had such a lovely time! The sites are secluded and we barely saw anyone else the entire time. The camp kitchen is well stocked and easy to use. The compost toilets are clean and private. There are small sculptures and statues hidden all throughout the area, giving it a magical feeling. John was very helpful and accommodating. I really appreciate the extra hammock straps he had on hand to loan out. Definitely try your hand at climbing the geodesic dome, you'll feel like a kid again.

Wow, how can I explain this charming little place in words? I’ve been an RV camper with my spouse for years, so it’s been awhile since I tent camped and I wasn’t sure I could handle the rustic accommodations. There are about 6 spots total, all separated from each other in lovely, little nooks. My friend and I stayed in one near this gorgeous, flowing creek. There are lovely works of nature art and charming decorations all over the property. The camp kitchen was well-stocked with dishes, a large sink with potable water (one temperature- lukewarm), a refrigerator, propane stove, electric coffee maker, toaster, and popcorn maker. There was also a bin full of dry goods, a shelf of some canned goods, spices, and some random food in the refrigerator. The geodesic dome play structure was fun for the two of us who are adults, so I imagine kids would love it! There’s even a big hoop swing hanging from the middle that gave us the giggles as we found creative ways to spin around on it. There are 2 compost toilets on property; one in a metal shed and near the kitchen, and another in a cute wooden shack on the other side of the property. They were free of any smell as guests are encouraged to urinate in the woods, and toilets are equipped with wood shavings to cover your scat. It was a quiet and peaceful stay and the best campground I've been to near Mt. Rainier!

Amazing! This place is a fairy tale, I can’t recommend enough! The host was super friendly and an amazing host, it was special to share the space. We went stayed 2 nights, went to Mt Rainer both days. We filled our days with hiking and exploring. There are some cute bars around the spot as well. Everything is magical!

Best campsite around. Multiple sites to choose from and public kitchen was useful too. It was definitely an enchanted campsite. 10/10 would come back and will definitely recommend to friends.

Perfect base camp location for hiking the Paradise area of Mt Rainier! Unique scenery like you really are camping in a rainforest. John made the check in process seamless with a personal walk through of the property and was very accommodating. Will definitely be back next time I visit the park!

John was an excellent host. He briefly showed me around the property so I knew where everything was located. Later, I mentioned in passing that my air mattress had a leak, and he lent me a memory foam cot mattress to use. Some sites are near the parking area and some not. There's a wheelbarrow to use if you pick one farther out. Theres some road noise, but its not bad. I couldn't see any other structures, so I felt out in the woods, yet safe. Great location for hiking in the Paradise area of Mt Ranier NP. But I can see the appeal for families who just want to camp. Kids would love the winding paths and the babbling stream. And there are bikes of varying sizes on loan as well as a paddleboard for the pond. Thanks John for such a great stay!

This campsite was beautiful, well-maintaned, and a great base camp for our excursions into Mt. Rainier National Park. John was a wonderful host and went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed. It was very easy for us to move everything from our car to our campsite, and although there were other campers, we enjoyed a lot of privacy.

This campsite is nothing short of magical — nestled right in the heart of the rainforest, yet just half a mile from gas stations, restaurants, and general stores. From the moment we arrived, we were warmly welcomed by John, who gave us a thoughtful tour and helped us choose the perfect spot. We picked the site by the stream, and it was everything we hoped for. Falling asleep to the gentle sound of flowing water, surrounded by towering trees, was pure serenity. John is an incredibly kind and generous host. He’s attentive, responsive, and truly goes out of his way to make sure guests have a wonderful stay. There’s a shared kitchen on-site with an oven, stove, and fridge — we didn’t need it since we brought our own supplies, but it was comforting to know it was there if we needed anything. The restroom is a composting toilet, which wasn’t quite our thing, so we ended up using the facilities at a nearby gas station. But honestly, that small trade-off felt negligible given the overall experience. Oh, and did I mention it’s just a 5-mile drive to the Mount Rainier entrance? Being so close meant we could leave early, reach the park gates by 7 AM, and completely beat the crowds — such a win. All in all, this was an incredible stay. Peaceful, beautiful, and run by someone who genuinely cares. We’re so glad we found this place — can’t wait to come back.

Super cute area! Loved that we were able to take some fresh herbs, actually made ourselves mint tea one morning. Definitely worth it and will be going back when we can. I also saw a doe with her two fawns 💕 and rode a bicycle for the first time in over a decade.

Such an incredible space! John was great and helped showed me around the site options even though I showed up late! Very serene and was only 20 minutes from Gobler’s Knob Trailhead! Beautiful site that had some lovely streams next to it; I slept like a baby!

John’s campground was amazing!! Totally exceeded our expectations. The property itself is beautiful and had so many creeks and bridges and trees. He had an outdoor kitchen that came in handy (fridge and cooking items), and a really cool hangout area. We did a cold plunge the last morning and were sad to leave such a great spot! So close to Mt Rainier too! Thanks John, we will be back!

This property is so gorgeous. It feels like a fairy garden! All the campsites were pretty far apart from each other so it’s very private. There is a nice kitchen area. There’s a nice hangout area with outlets, mood lighting, and seating that my husband and I really enjoyed. The host was awesome and asked us if there was anything we needed multiple times as well. It’s about 10 minutes from Mount Rainier. I definitely recommend camping here :)

The enchanted forest was a beautiful private oasis tucked away just before Mt. Rainier. I enjoyed getting to explore the walking paths, the sounds of the wildlife as I camped next to a stream. I will be back later this summer to enjoy the forest again. John was a fantastic host.

This place was amazing. Extremely close to Mt Rainer National Park, and it’s so cozy. So many spots to choose from and each one is cuter than the next. The common area is well equipped and John was so helpful and accommodating, especially after traveling for over 16 hours. We loved the place so much. I wish we had time to explore some more but we will be back to tackle Mt Rainer and will be staying here when we do. Thank you John for everything!
