Isla Springs was great for a quick getaway from Portland! Ed met us when we arrived and talked through the campsite options. He set us up in a spot close to the creek, where we spent the day. The campsite had a fire ring, which was nice in the evening. We would definitely return!

What an incredible and beautiful campsite. The wild and wooly flowers were unlike anything I’ve ever seen or stayed at! Truly a magical experience. The pink hues in the sky during golden hour against the flowers were breathtaking. The water valves on site were so handy and refreshing. We bought wood from the campsite and they provide a variety of kindling wood and abundance of large logs. There was a tranquil reservoir nearby, about a mile down the road and it was one of the highlights of our trip! Bring your camping chairs to soak your feet in the icey water! There’s an enchanted forest on the campsite with lots of magical moss growing around. And the Hipcamp hosts are the loveliest people! We enjoyed our stay and highly recommend it. Thank you Fairy Queen and Red Dragon for everything!!

We had a Fantastic Time on the Shady Grove site. Barb and Terry have created a wonderful set of Camp Sites. Beautifully curated areas that are a great treat to stay at. The grounds are level and the grass and trees very well maintained. Potable water was plentiful. Barb and Terry are wonderfully kind and helpful Hosts on a superb property. Highly recommend to stay here if you are in the area. Its close-ish to Ike Kinsawa State Park (10-15min Drive). Morton, WA is 15-20 mins away as is Mossyrock, WA, if you need supplies. Access is an easy drive from I-5 on good roads. Overall one of the best HipCamps we have stayed at, thoroughly worth a visit! We will be back when we are in the area.

3 nights at The Arboretum at Bear Canyon West

This was our fourth trip to The Arboretum, and this time our kids and their families joined us. We just had to share the beautiful surroundings that Terry and Barb have to offer! We stayed in the Coyote Cabin which was perfect for the teenagers to go do “their thing” 😉, and so much room for our dogs to run and play. We have all decided that next year we will return for hopefully a longer stay! Thanks Terry & Barb, you are awesome hosts!!

As always, Barb and Terry are gracious hosts. We brings our dogs here every 4th of July so they dont have to deal will all the noise. The scenery is stunning. It's quiet and peaceful and just the place to unwind. Thanks again Barb and Terry!

Great campground for rail fans. Brought my kid camping and he loved listening to the trains go by. We even hiked to the edge of the property and could see the trains. You do hear them with some frequency day and night, so perfect for fans of the railway.

I’ve stayed at this hipcamp before but this time tried the Brown site. It might be my new favorite! It is very private and quiet. I like that it has a nice mix of sun (I’m running on solar) and shade (nice mature trees to sit under and enjoy a camping happy hour)! Love the well kept lawns and all the beautiful trees and flowers! Such a relaxing weekend!

We loved tent camping on Bill’s land! The host was incredibly friendly and the hospitality was amazing. The site is private and surrounded by forest. Directions to the site were spot on. We will definitely come back!

Stayed the night on Tyler’s land to break up a long drive to the Oregon coast…it’s was perfect! Host came by when we arrived to see if we needed anything…he had fire wood if we needed it. His RV/Camping spot are spread out and clean. We will definitely use Tyler’s land again in our future travels.

We had such a lovely time on this beautiful property! The creek is charming, and we were amazed by the variety of birds—we spent so much time just listening and watching. Ed gave us a great tour and shared his deep knowledge of all the trees he's planted, which made us appreciate the land even more. The setting felt quiet and secluded; even though there were other campers on the property, we didn’t see or hear them at all. The distant sound of trains was actually quite pleasant and added to the charm rather than being a distraction. Highly recommend this spot if you're looking to disconnect and enjoy nature!

Ed was a great host and went out of his way to collect dry firewood for us as it had been raining during the day. The land is beautiful and such a pleasure to meander through. We had a great time! Other reviews have said negative things about the train- the train tracks are mentioned in the hipcamp description and so we knew what to expect! It was loud, but did not bother us at all.

This place is magical - even on a cold, rain-soaked weekend. Galilee and Brett are so gracious and went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable. We'll be back!

Most immaculately maintained campground ever! Every site can hold 2 or 3 RVs at minimum. Barb and Terry are gracious hosts. Love escaping to their little piece of heaven on earth.

The site was almost completely level, set up was a breeze. Tyler's sister and brother in law were awesome hosts, they responded promptly with our wood orders and were lovely to talk to. We definitely are looking forward to our next trip in August.

Pleasant Places

Pleasant Places campground is clean, quiet, spacious, and private with lots of nooks for R&R as well as ample space for play and activities. It is an ideal location for large groups, and in order to keep the camp private, larger groups are given priority. Centrally located and with 10 acres of field, forest and farm, there is something of interest for everyone. In camp you will find a rustic kitchen, two 6' picnic tables, and a fire pit with accessories. There is a resource area with an electrical outlet, a water hose, and a five gallon jug for your use. We have solid firewood bundles as well as fresh eggs for sale and lawn games and hammocks are available to rent. While the campsite, play field, and driveway loops are mowed, most of the grounds are wild so bring your tromping shoes. No city lights here, the stargazing is amazing! You'll enjoy communing with the farm animals, the goats are especially hands on and love the attention campers give them, while the chickens and ducks are mostly just fun to observe. The local fauna include deer, skunk, coyote, rabbit, weasel, and possum--bear and cat are not common, but please do be conscientious about leaving food out. While there isn't water on the property, Mayfield, Ike Kinswa, and Riffe lakes are all 20-30 minutes from here and provide lots of boating, swimming, and fishing opportunities. Just five minutes down the road, Carlisle Lake offers walking trails, outdoor exercise equipment, fishing, summer concerts, and a playground for the kids. If you're looking to explore the area, Mt Rainier, Mt St Helens, the East Side, and the Pacific Coast are all just day trips from here. We are midway between Portland and Seattle and just 15 minutes off of I-5 making Pleasant Places a perfect meet in the middle getaway. Time to meditate with the giant crystal in the gazebo can be booked with Kathleen for a fee of $55. We are wild and woolly. We provide a place to experience nature as it simply is. We privilege pollinators above human aesthetics. Wildflowers abound, including various dandelions which many are edible and healing plants. Oh-Deer-Me

Secluded private site centrally located just a mile from Interstate 5, and 6 miles from the Interstate 5 / Hwy 205 intersection so most places in Clark County are less that 20 minutes away. Located 10 minutes from ilani Casino, 5 minutes from the Clark County Fairgrounds and amphitheater, and less than 30 minutes from some of the nicest freshwater lakes around. Hosts are avid Flyboarders, Jetskiers, Paraglider Pilots, and Stuart has been climbing since the late 1900's (1974 and up... back in the era where if it couldn't be nailed it couldn't be climbed). This is a secluded, Park Like property with walking trails all the way around it, and some interesting things for kids to spot, especially up Fairy Lane. Walking access is permitted, but you must keep pets on leash and keep an eye on your kids. In the dry season, typically May through the end of September, fires are not allowed, and plese USE EXTREME CAUTION IF YOU CHOOSE TO SMOKE ONSITE. If you are one of those who just tosses your butts in the underbrush, you will be asked to leave for the safety of our property and guests. There is no smoking allowed inside the cabin, bathroom, or anywhere near the sawmill, or any area North of it. There is an active sawmill onsite IES-Sawmill.com. People are welcome to visit, but equipment has the right of way and may not see you. Please avoid the log decks, and especially don't allow children to play on them, as logs can roll at any time. Some of the equipment is big, heavy, and doesn't have the greatest visibility if people walk up un-noticed. Always ensure that the operator sees you, and don't place yourself anywhere where a log that comes loose could run you down. Operating Equipment always has the right of way. There is a climbing wall on the North side of the machine shop. If you are an experienced climber with a partner to belay you can the appropriatte gear, you are welcome to use the wall, please let us know first. If the hosts have time, you may be able to convince them to give you a lesson. We are changing the anchors on our ziplines, so they are not available for use at this time. There is a public bathroom in the middle of the property beside the tree fort. It's well lit and open 24 hours a day. It has a flush toilet and a cold water sink and COLD water shower. The water comes out of the ground year round at about 60 degrees so it's a chilly shower. If you need a hot shower, renting the cabin is your best bet as it comes with a private bath that has a hot shower. We try to keep rules to a minimum, but people seem to find creative ways to cause issues. Please park outside the yellow gate in the parking areas noted on the map. Please park on gravel and DON'T DRIVE OFF THE GRAVEL ROADS ONTO THE GRASS. Anita hates it, as you can cause a fire in the summer, and leave muddy ruts in the wet seasons. If you're driving through the trees, you're doing something wrong. There is plenty of wildlife on the property especially in the couple hours before dark. Best place to spot deer, racoons, pocupines and beaver are down near the pond. Enjoy your stay. Stuart and Anita

The Arboretum at Bear Canyon West

This is a gorgeous park-like RV campground situated between the trees of the arboretum. No tents, please. Also we have NO public restrooms. Beautiful view of the mountains and forests here in western Washington. We are close to Mt. St. Helens and Mt. Rainier and several lakes. There are walking trails all around the site. The 12 acre campground is located on a 136 acre property that is an active Christmas tree farm. Trails continue throughout the tree farm. Many trails have a view of the Tilton River, which can be reached via a challenging 3/4 mile trail. Sites are on 10 acres planted with many different species of trees that are about 30 years old. Giant Redwoods, Cedars, and Maples are just a few of the varieties present. Part of the farm is still a working Christmas tree farm. The trails are wide and grassy. The old logging road that we use as a trail to the river has an elevation change of about 500 feet, the trail can be quite challenging. Bear Creek empties into the Tilton river at the end of the trail. There is an ART GALLERY where you can learn to pound flowers, see the host's artwork and get a cup of coffee! This is upstairs above the shop, right on the property. Tilton River Studio Gallery. Three sites have electrical hookups. Every site has a water spigot (use a pressure regulator if you want to hook up). No restrooms or sewer hookups. Garbage disposal site available Memorial Day to Labor Day. River Mountain Meadow

Learn more about this land: It sits upon a meadow with surrounding trees and a cow pasture in the distance. Spring time offers a small pond (please see below), but the Lewis river is in within walking distance and tons of recreational activities are close by (swimming, fishing, hiking, wineries, etc.). There are only two sites, far from each other. It is a rural property with a few residential homes and Airbnbs along the river, so be aware there are cars that drive through the one lane road. Town is close by for a quick trip. Privacy is better here than at a public campground and it's perfect for a close trip out of town for a day or two. *This winter was tough, lots of wind, so some trees fell, but they are all cleaned up and lots of small trees were planted. Can't wait until they grow!!! Dogs are most welcome, and may be off leash for a run in the field, however, please be mindful of my own dogs and chickens down below so please do not let them go beyond your site or the field when using. We plan on making the pond to be a swim pond that will hold water all year long (the creek that runs into it is seasonal so it dries out depending on how much rain we get in any given year). Please, read each site description carefully! Site 1 has a portable composting toilet for tent campers (please do not rate me based on this or any other things out of my control, I have tried my best to inform you about what to be aware of in this description AND each site's description). The toilet is santized, bags and gel are provided and it's private. You MUST pack out ALL waste; if you do not like any of these conditions please do not book this site. Site 2 is for RVs that already have a toilet so if you are a tent camper and want to book this site you will need to bring your own camp toilet. This is a beautiful property and I enjoy sharing it, please be mindful of the rules.

Half of the land, 2.5 acres is a forest of pine and alder trees which hosts incredible wild life: a family of fox, Northwest bats, Northern Pygmy owls, Spotted owls, Northern flickers, Pileated woodpeckers, red ants, deer, elk, rabbits, snakes, mice and million more insects and birds. The land also has an incredible variety of mushrooms, mostly non-edible though, and ferns and mosses.
