This is a gorgeous park-like RV campground situated between the trees of the arboretum. NO TENTS, please. Also we have NO PUBLIC RESTROOMS. Beautiful view of the mountains and forests here in western Washington. We are close to Mt. St. Helens and Mt. Rainier and several lakes. There are walking trails all around the site. The 12 acre campground is located on a 136 acre property that is an active Christmas tree farm. Trails continue throughout the tree farm. Many trails have a view of the Tilton River, which can be reached via a challenging 3/4 mile trail. Sites are on 12 acres planted with many different species of trees that are about 30 years old. Giant Redwoods, Cedars, and Maples are just a few of the varieties present. Part of the farm is still a working Christmas tree farm. The trails are wide and grassy. The old logging road that we use as a trail to the river has an elevation change of about 500 feet, the trail can be quite challenging. Bear Creek empties into the Tilton river at the end of the trail. There is an ART GALLERY where you can see the host's artwork and purchase a piece if you wish. Originals and prints are both available. This is upstairs through the check-in entry area lobby. Tilton River Studio Gallery. Three sites have electrical hookups. Every site has a water spigot (use a pressure regulator if you want to hook up). No restrooms or sewer hookups. Garbage disposal site (dumpster) available Memorial Day to Labor Day. We have a 1/2 acre property on the Cowlitz River in the middle of Cooks Ferry Park in Castle Rock WA. We bought the property to relax in a beautiful setting close to home. We only live 15 minutes away. The property is made up of dredge spoils from when Mt. Saint Helens blew and is inside of a park where people can go to fish and enjoy the river. There are only 8 lots privately owned and we are the first lot that you come to. There is plenty of room for an RV. Guests can also tent camp or stay in our shack that has a sleeper sofa. There are snacks, a sign in book, an axe, briquets, a fire extinguisher, and other items the shack. There is a picnic table, fire pit, BBQ, and wood stove. There is a porta potty on the property. We value your privacy. We do have cameras on the property that are on when no one is there. Once a Hipcamper arrives at the property, they are turned off. We also keep our travel trailer there to enjoy when we can. We will never be there camping when you are there. In the summer, we sometimes kayak. We put in upriver and get out at the property. If it is booked at that time, we will always check first to see if it is okay for us to get out there. If you continue going past our property, there are some nice rock beaches with pretty views. People fish there and wade in the water in the summer. Castle Rock is a cute little town with some nice shops, restaurants and bars. I recommend checking it out! We are not picky about check in/check out time. It would only matter if someone else was checking in the day you are checking out. Please ask if you expect to arrive earlier or want to check out later. If your plans change, please cancel through Hipcamp to get a refund.

There is only one campsite on this property, insuring privacy and solitude during your stay. The setting is most private, the river lovely. This setting is wonderful for a quiet family getaway in the woods; it is not 'party' appropriate. The Coweeman River runs clean and pristine. Though only 3' to 4' deep, it provides a refreshing dip on a warm summer's day. It can be used for washing and bathing and could be filtered/treated to make it potable. A locked cabin has a large covered porch overlooking the River that is available for campers, complete with chairs and picnic table. Note: railing is fragile and drop potentially fatal, so no leaning on railing. Well mannered, non-digging dogs are welcome (maximum 2) as long as their responsible owners clean up after them. The camp has a pit toilet and we are asking guests to extend its life by only putting poop and pee in it. Please burn your TP or take it out with your trash. There is a fire ring and a tub of firewood available (and refillable) on site for $10. Payment for the woodcutter is through Venmo when you return to the electronic world. Firestarter/kindling complimentary if minimally used. If you bring your own wood keep maximum length to 20" to keep fire/ash within ring. There is a picnic table and chairs at the fire ring. Trash cans are provided. Please remove your trash. Don't forget to bring drinking water, toilet paper, headlamp/flashlight, roasting sticks for them s'mores, water shoes and tromping shoes. The closest store for supplies is 11 miles (20ish minutes) down Rose Valley Road, a small country market with basics, and fuel. There driveway is steep but fine for 2 wheel drive vehicles (except when towing). When driving out, make sure gate is open before starting the climb out.. Caution: wet rocks are as slick as ice! There is only one site on this property so your party will have it to yourselves. A fire pit, with on site firewood available for purchase ($10/tub/30ish pieces), provides warmth after your dip in the cool water. Fire stater and kindling are complimentary if minimally used. A picnic table is under a newly constructed shelter. The driveway terminates in a cul de sac; an area large enough for any vehicle to turn around. A small trailer (less than 20') is fine if you're talented getting it turned around or can unhitch and turned around by hand. Towing a trailer you'd need a 4 wheel drive to get it out of the steepish driveway. There is a large flat area for parking/tents plus a couple remote, dirt sites for tents. Non digging, well mannered dogs are allowed (2 maximum) provided their responsible owners clean up after them. A new nifty outhouse has a great view! Only pee and poop go into the pit. Barb & Terry were such lovely hosts! Barb greeted us at check-in, and we got to see (and purchase!) her beautiful art. We also were able to purchase some of Terry’s honey. The property was perfect - so lush and so private. We walked to the swimming hole for a quick dip before settling into our nook. It was so quiet and peaceful. We are already excited to go back!

Weekend Trip to The Arboretum at Bear Canyon West

Everything was clean and beautiful and well maintained. The signage was great and easy to read and find your spot. Being surrounded by thousands of Christmas trees and summer is pretty cool. Hosts we're communicative and really nice.

Blue site has plenty of room for large trailers.

This was our second time staying at the Blue Site at The Arboretum at Bear Canyon West, and it was every bit as enjoyable as our first visit. The grounds are beautifully maintained, the scenery is absolutely stunning, and the peaceful atmosphere makes it easy to relax and enjoy the outdoors. The hosts were fantastic as always—friendly, welcoming, and clearly dedicated to providing a great experience for their guests. It's obvious they take pride in the property, and it shows throughout the campground. Our family had another wonderful camping trip, and this location is quickly becoming one of our favorite camping destinations. We look forward to coming back again and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a quiet, beautiful place to camp.

Having a dedicated fresh water fill-up at every single site is a rare luxury for boondocking. Between the stunning hillside scenery and a wide-open field perfect for frisbee golf, wiffle ball, and lawn games, this spot offers the ultimate relaxing getaway. Highly recommended for any self-contained setup!

What a great stay, the property was amazing, horseshoes and a small bmx bike course for kids, a short walk to the river where you can sit and have a fire. We loved this property and will be returning !!! Great hosts and had treat bags for both of our dogs and us. Thank you for the amazing stay

This is our third time to stay on Tyler’s land in Castle Rock. We love the full hook ups and so much room between campers. It is kept up well and very peaceful. The river is a short walk away with blackberries that were ripe.

We loved staying at the Arboretum with Barb and Terry! They were so welcoming and and helpful. The property is absolutely beautiful with ample room to run, play and explore. Easy access to the surrounding areas. Barb is a wonderful host and an amazing artist as well. Be sure to visit her studio! I would highly recommend this spot. :)

Always a great place to camp. Camping sites are large and private. You could fit several RVs in one spot if needed. Barb and Terry are awesome hosts and very responsive to questions.

Excellent hosts! The campsites were well maintained! Short walk to the river and a very comfortable trailer spot with full hookups. The spaces were far apart so there was an extreme amount of privacy! We forgot oil and it’s close enough for DoorDash to deliver. The host also recommended a burger place in the chevron. We hit that up and it definitely worth it!

Love this place! Marlisa is a welcoming host and her property is gorgeous. If you’re looking for a place to relax and enjoy the outdoors this is your spot. Families can enjoy fishing in the river, the dogs will love the massive property to explore and tranquil setting. Something for everyone, it’s a special hidden secret! Plus real restrooms and showers. Close to great hiking and Long Beach!

Weekend Trip to J Squared River Ranch

Great communications, great directions, great space! The full rv spot was awesome, hookups super easy. And a short hike to the Cowlitz river with the pup was over the top! At least a quarter mile private beach to run and swim and play. Great Basecamp for St. Helen's too. We hiked around Coldwater lake. Go to the deli at the the Chevron station a couple miles from the campsite and get the bacon cheeseburger. Super good...or go for breakfast....menu is awesome. Super attentive peeps, super great space, will be back most certainly! Fun fun.

This was a great get away, secluded yet still plenty to do! We had 3 RVs at the Cedars site that all fit great. The kids loved exploring in the trees, riding bikes and “found” a swing set that provided lots of entertainment. Barb and Terry were excellent hosts. We will be back, thank you!

Weekend Trip to The Arboretum at Bear Canyon West

We stayed at the Concord Pond site and found it to be a fantastic setting! Lots of trees with plenty of shade so no need for a canopy or awning. Endless amount of walking and exploring to do, we walked around looking at the huge variety of trees, plants, and garden area. We walked the Timber trail as well. Barb offers an art class of flower pounding which we took our grandkids to and they loved it. Both Terry and Barb were fantastic to visit with and gave us the feeling of visiting friends. The campground sits in a beautiful relaxing quite and scenic area, we will definitely be visiting there again!
