We are a one hundred year old family owned farm with an organic garden, Permaculture garden, an apiary, and Christmas trees on six acres. We have Horseshoes, Tether ball, Disk Golf, Corn Hole and a small library for you to enjoy. Early spring the frogs go crazy later followed by the sounds of nesting birds. Fall is the season for migrating birds that rest at the ponds next door. August is the time to fill up on blackberries. There are individual campsites with a barbecue and picnic table and a shared fire pit. The fire pit didn't see much use last two years because of the fire danger so we have moved it to an open area that will be safer and hopefully be open longer, there is also an area at each campsite if you want to bring a propane fire ring (or we will have some for rent). You can star gaze from the fields and the major constellations can be seen on a dark night. We are becoming increasingly suburban and there is some road noise that can be heard and even with farms on three sides of us, you still might hear our neighbors in the distance. Campsites one and four are across the road from each other and campsites two and three are adjacent to each other, perfect if you have another family traveling with you. The Washington State Fair is 3.9 miles/ 13 minutes away, Tacoma Dome 7.5 miles/ 18 minutes, Point Defiance Park Zoo and Aquarium 19 miles/ 30 minutes and Wild Waves water park is 15 miles/ 26 minutes away. There is a gallery of wild life photography taken on the farm displayed in the outhouse. Eagles, hawks and Ospreys are frequent visitors to our property.

There is no outdoor music at any time. Quiet hours are 8 pm to 10 am.

The water at (shallower) Dockton Park (about a 6 min drive away) gets warm from swimming in summer if you prefer it to 54 degree deep water here!
Please clean up after your pet. Dogs must be leashed AT ALL TIMES in the field. If no one is around at the beach, they can be off leash, but leash up if anyone approaches until they pass. Please never leave your dog unattended outside where barking will disturb the peace.

Manchester State Park features a beach, sand dunes, and flat grasslands, with nearly 18,000 feet of ocean frontage. The beach line curves gently to form a "catch basin" for sea debris, which accounts for the volume of driftwood found here. Five miles of gentle, sandy beach stretches southward towards the Point Arena Lighthouse.
One of the main attractions is the excellent steelhead fishing in the park’s two streams, Brush Creek and Alder Creek. A little about Orting - Nestled in the foothills of Mt Rainier between the Puyallup and Carbon Rivers, Orting is a quaint Turn-of-the-Century village that you will not forget.
The town center is anchored by three parks filled with giant maples and evergreens. You will be awed by the view of Mt. Rainier from Washington Avenue.
The levees on the east and west sides of town are perfect for hikes along the rivers. The 20 mile Foothills Trail meanders right through the middle of town and then takes you along the Carbon River levee. Bike, walk, take the stroller and the family pet. Enjoy the turn-of-the-century architecture of downtown and eat at one of the 15 restaurants.
If your timing is right you can take part in the Daffodil festival and parade the first Saturday of April. The Kingsmen Car show comes to town the third Saturday in June. Then there is the Pumpkin festival the second weekend of October. Finally the year is capped off with the Christmas festival throughout December. Then there are the many foot and bike races that take place on the foothills trail throughout the year.

The working farm fields are not open to campers, but can be admired as a backdrop. Wave hi to any farmers you see out there working! A You-Pick flower patch and farm stand at the entrance of the property are open for frolicking, picture-taking and flower-picking seasonally.
You'll see bald eagles, hear owls and watch deer pass through your camp. But you are only about a 5-10 min walk from town! This does mean you'll often hear music from events on weekend evenings, and plane traffic does fly overhead. Vashon is quiet and full of nature, but you're not out in the middle of nowhere! Plenty of space to camp! The entrance is kind of hidden and traffic is not prepared to slow down for people turning there. The horses are friendly! Very close to rivers and trails. Can’t beat the price, that’s for sure! Beautiful view of Mount Rainier. Close to the road so there is some road noise and quite a few airplanes fly overhead. Overall it was an amazing experience. You can rent a fire pit for $5 and fire wood is only $5! 🙂

We almost don’t want to leave a review because this place feels like a secret getaway we selfishly want to keep to ourselves… but it’s too good not to share. This was our third stay here with our dog, and somehow each trip has been even better than the last. He absolutely loves the open space to roam, nap in the grass, and explore, and we love how peaceful and tucked-away everything feels while still being incredibly convenient.
You get the best of both worlds here: quiet countryside vibes with plenty of sun and shade, plus downtown restaurants and coffee shops are only about a 10-minute walk (or a super quick 3-minute drive). It feels remote without actually being remote.
Everything is thoughtfully maintained, the bathroom is always clean, the grounds are beautiful, and the kitchen/deck setup honestly pushes this into glamping territory if you want it to. Morning coffee under the trees, campfires at night, and wide open skies made it hard to leave.
If you’re looking for a dog-friendly spot that feels peaceful, cozy, and just a little magical, this is it. We’ll definitely be back again… and probably still debating whether we should keep telling people about it.

This campsite is so absolutely amazing!!! Beautiful lush grass, lots of space to spread out, fun little creek and so many amenities that truly we were glamping. The hosts were so wonderful and attentive, we had the best weekend! For those with dogs just know there is a public road that runs along the site, which is not fenced…though most it separated by brush/trees…just something to be aware if your doggos are hyper/runners. We definitely hope to return to Witt’s End!

I loved the place. Yes the ground is a little bumpy as mentioned in other reviews. Just means you need to watch where you walk. The horses were extremely friendly, we loved feeding them carrots and petting them. The mountain was out! Where I think we camped (camp site 2) did not have a great view of the mountain, but we enjoyed walking around a bit and viewing it. There were only 3 other families camping at the same time so it was nice to feel like we almost had the place to ourselves. We purchased wood and rented the fire pit. We will definitely be back.

Loved our visit! It was beautiful and serene! Hosts are wonderful! Space is well kept and spacious. There is a on site camper for rent as well which would be a nice way to have family/friends stay. If going during the sunny/warm season, bring a canopy or large sun umbrella for extra shade.

Great spot close to home! Has all the amenities you need for a cute lil camping trip. Bathroom was clean and well stocked, camp fire wood available for purchase, the spot is pretty private, and close to the river for a dip. Had a great night!

Our second time here and so thankful for Brittany sharing this amazing spot. One of our pups is severely anxious so we chose to book both the rv and tent site to get the extra privacy. That said, the sites are far enough that if you don’t have an anxious pup you would still feel a sense of privacy. The access to the cedar river trail is awesome and the fire pits are perfect. Super quiet, felt very safe and enjoyed the star gazing at night. Thanks again!!

We loved dry camping on Lisa’s property. The site was a small
field that overlooked Poverty Bay with a amazing view of Mt Rainier. Well maintained! We were the only one’s there, so we picked a great spot for RV right at overlook. Access to beach was great! Everything was awesome!! Downside for a large RV: it cost $141 to get on island. Free to take RV back to mainland. $7 per adult to take water taxi to Seattle; another $7 to return. Also it’s about as far south on the island as you can go and it was difficult finding a ride share to take us to ferry to go to Seattle. No Ubers or Lyft drivers on island. There are however, several individuals that will drive folks around. Bus only travels so far. Really appreciative of Lisa and her letting us spend two nights on her property. One of our favs!

This was the cleanest, most balanced and beautiful crunchy camping retreat I've been to. Attention to detail is spot on, the bathrooms are beautiful and equipped with modern fixtures (even on some of the outdoor showers!) the hot water gets HOT! The community members are super chill, very friendly, available and promptly responsive as needed. The grounds are clean and the vibe feels wholesome.
