A "far out" campground that's not too far out! Camp Moxy Jo's has been imagined to bring NATURE back to us city folks, PLAY back to us adults, and FUN of the outdoors for all. Our private campground is located in a forested area in Federal Way and is the perfect escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. We have two camper vans and two vintage trailers. Goats, chickens and ducks. Firewood and eggs are also for sale. Two large fire pits, a boutique rental, and common areas of a rainy day shelter and pit stop! Parties and events are encouraged! Rent the whole place for large groups! Note: We do not accept outside vans, campers, RV's or single tents (if you rent one of our spaces, we do have tent beds to go along with that rental)

Enjoy a peaceful stay in a quiet, safe, upscale neighborhood with expansive territorial views of Puget Sound. Both sites are semi private , with 30amp RV outlets, sewage, and water spigots with hose. This space is ideal for a sprinter van or a small RV. The neighborhood is low traffic for walking with fantastic Salish sea views, and a beach. Redondo boardwalk, aquarium, and beach is a short drive away for easy water access. A Starbucks, Grocery Store, Laundromat, and gym are a 1 mile, quick bike ride or drive away. The Pacific Bonsai Museum is 6 miles away, and a free experience that most visitors find surprisingly interesting. Sea-Tac Airport is 23 minutes away without traffic. I strive to live and promote a peaceful and inclusive space. Good Karma and good vibes are welcome. I work as a metal artist out of my garage studio. Welding is not noisy but, grinding and cutting can be. I limit it to 9-6, but can easily shift to other quiet tasks if you ask. * This is a safe neighborhood, but still an in-city experience, so be sure to secure you valuables.

We are a one hundred year old family owned farm with an organic garden, Permaculture garden, an apiary, and Christmas trees on six acres. We have Horseshoes, Tether ball, Disk Golf, Corn Hole and a small library for you to enjoy. Early spring the frogs go crazy later followed by the sounds of nesting birds. Fall is the season for migrating birds that rest at the ponds next door. August is the time to fill up on blackberries. There are individual campsites with a barbecue and picnic table and a shared fire pit. The fire pit didn't see much use last two years because of the fire danger so we have moved it to an open area that will be safer and hopefully be open longer, there is also an area at each campsite if you want to bring a propane fire ring (or we will have some for rent). You can star gaze from the fields and the major constellations can be seen on a dark night. We are becoming increasingly suburban and there is some road noise that can be heard and even with farms on three sides of us, you still might hear our neighbors in the distance. Campsites one and four are across the road from each other and campsites two and three are adjacent to each other, perfect if you have another family traveling with you. The Washington State Fair is 3.9 miles/ 13 minutes away, Tacoma Dome 7.5 miles/ 18 minutes, Point Defiance Park Zoo and Aquarium 19 miles/ 30 minutes and Wild Waves water park is 15 miles/ 26 minutes away. There is a gallery of wild life photography taken on the farm displayed in the outhouse. Eagles, hawks and Ospreys are frequent visitors to our property.

Vashon boasts great coffee hangouts, bakeries, galleries, wineries, restaurants (May's Thai, Lunetta Pizza, The Ruby Brink, The Hardware Store Restaurant, Snapdragon and others). Vashon Center for the Arts, O-Space and the Chamber of Commerce have events that might be of interest. Outdoor fires are by permission only. There are sometime burn bans for air quality and/or high fire danger. Fires may be allowed AT THE BEACH, below the high tide line, between October 1 and June 15, but there are various reasons they may not be allowed (air quality bans, windy conditions, etc.)Any fire you light must be put out COLD (no steam, no heat) with water and buried with sand before leaving them unattended. You are responsible for any damage or injuries caused by a fire you start, so please be careful! Please note: It is very important that the number of people on site is accurate. Please contact Hipcamp to change the number of people. There is an additional charge per person above the base 2 person rate. There is no outdoor music at any time. Quiet hours are 8 pm to 10 am. There is no picnic table or any amenities, but you can fill up water at our barn if needed. DO NOT USE THE WOODS AS A BATHROOM. It is necessary to bring your own latrine. The water at (shallower) Dockton Park (about a 6 min drive away) gets warm from swimming in summer if you prefer it to 54 degree deep water here! Please clean up after your pet. Dogs must be leashed AT ALL TIMES in the field. If no one is around at the beach, they can be off leash, but leash up if anyone approaches until they pass. Please never leave your dog unattended outside where barking will disturb the peace. Please don't hesitate to reach out if you have any questions. Looking forward to hosting you! Manchester State Park

13. Manchester State Park

State park 578mi from Lakeland South · 2 sites
Manchester State Park features a beach, sand dunes, and flat grasslands, with nearly 18,000 feet of ocean frontage. The beach line curves gently to form a "catch basin" for sea debris, which accounts for the volume of driftwood found here. Five miles of gentle, sandy beach stretches southward towards the Point Arena Lighthouse. One of the main attractions is the excellent steelhead fishing in the park’s two streams, Brush Creek and Alder Creek. The park features a variety of coastal wildflowers, including sea pinks, poppies, lupines, baby blue eyes and blue irises. The park provides habitat for tundra swans. The San Andreas Fault runs into the sea at the park. The park takes its name from the village of Manchester, which is located in Mendocino County on Coast Highway 1 about seven miles north of Point Arena. This is an area of rich grazing lands, flocks of sheep and herds of cattle which add a pastoral note to some of the most spectacular coastal scenery in the world.

*Tent Camping Only* If you plan to sleep in your car, this is not the campground for you. Tuck into your private campsite amongst the trees with sweeping field and farm views. Sites are spaced apart from eachother, nestled along a forested tree line. These tent sites are about a 300ft walk from the parking lot, and vehicles can not access the sites. Each site offers a picnic table and fire pit. *Please pay attention to the fact that these are walk-in sites, and you'll be hauling your camping items from the parking area over uneven ground. We provide a cart to help tote your items, if needed. Pack accordingly* There is a communal central deck for camper's use, with a sink, propane stove, some cooking utensils, power outlet and a hose bib. A communal port-a-potty is available to campers. The working farm fields are not open to campers, but can be admired as a backdrop. Wave hi to any farmers you see out there working! A You-Pick flower patch and farm stand at the entrance of the property are open for frolicking, picture-taking and flower-picking seasonally. You'll see bald eagles, hear owls and watch deer pass through your camp. But you are only about a 5-10 min walk from town! This does mean you'll often hear music from events on weekend evenings, and plane traffic does fly overhead. Vashon is quiet and full of nature, but you're not out in the middle of nowhere! We hope you enjoy all that there is to do here, and create some great stories :)
