The sites are just a couple feet from the bay with access to miles of beach hiking. There are reasons for this: When we initially opened, we allowed people to camp there through Hip Camp and I was getting low stars ratings because Entitled people thought for $28 bucks, they got the whole river to themselves and would fight with other campers. IT JUST GOT TO EXHAUSTING. In the coming years I’m going to try to set up some premium sites on the river and work super hard at getting amenities that will match that price. About the hosts: Camas and her father, Randy, co-host this property. One or both will be onsite at all times should any issue arise. Please message if you need a last-minute booking and it appears to be blocked. We can't do an "instant book," but there's always a possibility that we can accommodate you. About the site: This 17-foot 2005 Jay Feather Ultra Lite trailer is clean and cozy - perfect for one or two people. A third person is welcome, but it will likely be a little cramped. The double bed has a memory foam mattress and is made-up with quality sheets. Towels are provided at no extra cost. The kitchen has a 3 burner propane stove and oven, a small fridge, a microwave, and sink. Coffee, tea, tea kettle, French Press, creamer, and sugar are provided, as well as a few dishes, a pot and pan, and utensils. The spring water is sourced directly from our property and filtered, so you can enjoy it from the tap! In my opinion, it's some of the best water around - feel free to fill up before you depart. The site is set back from WA-State Route 106, but only by about 20 yards. There is traffic noise during the day, but it's not too bad, and it is typically pretty quiet at night. Hopefully you enjoy the sounds of wildlife ~ birds, lapping waves, and even a creek add to the experience. A panoramic view of the estuary is one of the best parts of this property. It's dreamy, really. With the tide changing every 6 hours, you just can't get bored. You may fall asleep to tide flats and wake up to what feels like a lake. If you like being on or in the water - bring some kayaks, surf or paddle boards, and some high quality water shoes (never go barefoot!). You will have access to 400 feet of private beach and tide flats. Kayaking is tide dependent - recommendations for paddle times will be in the binder. (Currently closed to harvesting 6/23) If you have your shellfish license, feel free to harvest a few oysters or clams (depending on DOH recommendations) . Be aware - it is a rustic beach, and it is across the highway, so watch for traffic and watch your step on the beach. Our house is within sight of the trailer, but you have to make an effort to see it. From our house, we can only see the parking spot, and due to shrubbery & a shed, we can't hear talking voices, so it is pretty private. We do have 2 very friendly, small dogs who will undoubtedly alert us to your arrival, but they stay on our deck and quiet down right away. A welcome binder and maps will help you get an idea of the area. For a tiny town, Union has a LOT to offer - there are several dining choices within a few miles. Weekend Trip to Hairy Eagle Lookout 🦅

This was a lovely place to camp with an incredible view! Level parking for our 25 foot trailer. There is some slight highway 101 noise, but nothing that would keep us from returning. It was a misty weekend, so we hunkered in most of the time. The clouds amongst the trees made for a beautiful view. We enjoyed going into the very small town to the Tipsy Whale for nice cider and beers. Mostly, we toured around and enjoyed the sea lions, seals, and many birds.

I keep coming back here because i love to photograph eagles. The camper is so cozy and has everthing needed for a stay. It's also very clean and extremely safe for a solo traveler. Camas, the hipcamp owner, is the best!

Tent camped here off season for a couple days of hunting. Nice campground especially for the price as long as you don’t need a power pole which I don’t. Will camp here again! Especially appreciate the firewood program of wood provided just pay for it with a QR code via PayPal if you didn’t bring your own.

The host was very responsive to any inquiries made. The setting was very pleasant and private. The environment is conducive to birdwatching. The hookups that were available were well maintained. Be sure and follow the arrival directions by the host to ensure that you do not miss the street to get access to the Hipcamp. We very much enjoyed our time there.

This is a beautiful, quiet, and comfortable campsite! We were especially impressed by the shared kitchen - as it was quite cold while we were there! The kitchen is lovely, with a wood cookstove. We loved staying with Paul and Carol, who are very interesting and friendly.

Weekend Trip to Fischer's Place on the Estuary

Honestly one of the best Hipcamp experiences I've had, I highly recommend! The RV was clean, well maintained and extremely cozy. The views of the estuary were amazing, even with heavy fog and rain. The host was incredibly communicative, and welcoming. I'll definitely come back in the future 😁
