17 min to Hood Canal, 30 min to Lake Cushman, 50 min to the Staircase Entrance of Olympic Natl Park (33 miles). Perfect location for setting up camp with your RV, then taking your car up into the Olympics. Looking for dog-friendly hikes? Several Olympic Natl Forest and Skokomish Wilderness trails can be accessed from Lake Cushman, including Mt. Ellinor, Mt. Rose, and Mt. Washington.
When returning, enjoy what the property has to offer. Of the 11 acres, 10 acres are comprised of wetlands and their buffers. A trail winds down to Mill Creek just 1/4 mile downstream from the outlet of Lake Isabella. Here the creek is wide and it is permissible to hand launch kayaks and canoes. The trail is 1/3 mile long and the shoreline is required to remain unimproved, but the reward is access to conservation shoreline rarely seen by man. The lake is 200+ acres and boasts Lake Isabella State Park and a DFW public boat launch for easier access.
The wetlands are critical for maintaining water quality for the local shellfish industry; access is confined to the trail and creek access needs to be gentle. But if you pause for a moment along the shoreline you'll be rewarded as wildlife begin to stir from their hiding places. Song birds, rabbits, deer, voles -- yes. But also river otters, beavers, ducks, and owls. Mountain lions and coyotes are possible, and salmon run Mill Creek.
Between our rental cottage and RV site is a large propane fire pit with half-moon seating - perfect for roasting S'mores late into the evening or stargazing in a region remote from city lights.
With just a single RV site and cottage, the nearest neighbor acres away, and only State land between the property and Hwy 101, you can expect a private stay in a forested setting with easy freeway access to the Olympics on one side and an idyllic private creek side nature preserve on the other. We welcome you to the beauty of Washington's Olympic Peninsula.

We are fortunate to live here, and we want to share the beauty with you. Please stay here and take a moment free of worry and free of hurry.
About the hosts: Camas and her father, Randy, co-host this property. One or both will be onsite at all times should any issue arise. Please message if you need a last-minute booking and it appears to be blocked. We can't do an "instant book," but there's always a possibility that we can accommodate you.
About the site:
This 17-foot 2005 Jay Feather Ultra Lite trailer is clean and cozy - perfect for one or two people. A third person is welcome, but it will likely be a little cramped. The double bed has a memory foam mattress and is made-up with quality sheets. Towels are provided at no extra cost.
The kitchen has a 3 burner propane stove and oven, a small fridge, a microwave, and sink. Coffee, tea, tea kettle, French Press, creamer, and sugar are provided, as well as a few dishes, a pot and pan, and utensils.
The spring water is sourced directly from our property and filtered, so you can enjoy it from the tap! In my opinion, it's some of the best water around - feel free to fill up before you depart.
The site is set back from WA-State Route 106, but only by about 20 yards. There is traffic noise during the day, but it's not too bad, and it is typically pretty quiet at night. Hopefully you enjoy the sounds of wildlife ~ birds, lapping waves, and even a creek add to the experience.
A panoramic view of the estuary is one of the best parts of this property. It's dreamy, really. With the tide changing every 6 hours, you just can't get bored. You may fall asleep to tide flats and wake up to what feels like a lake.
If you like being on or in the water - bring some kayaks, surf or paddle boards, and some high quality water shoes (never go barefoot!). You will have access to 400 feet of private beach and tide flats. Kayaking is tide dependent - recommendations for paddle times will be in the binder.
(Currently closed to harvesting 6/23) If you have your shellfish license, feel free to harvest a few oysters or clams (depending on DOH recommendations) . Be aware - it is a rustic beach, and it is across the highway, so watch for traffic and watch your step on the beach.
Our house is within sight of the trailer, but you have to make an effort to see it. From our house, we can only see the parking spot, and due to shrubbery & a shed, we can't hear talking voices, so it is pretty private. We do have 2 very friendly, small dogs who will undoubtedly alert us to your arrival, but they stay on our deck and quiet down right away.
A welcome binder and maps will help you get an idea of the area. For a tiny town, Union has a LOT to offer - there are several dining choices within a few miles. Union was even listed in the top 10 "Prettiest Towns in America" in Forbes Magazine in 2009!

This wilderness campsite is located down a 2-mile gravel logging road which is steep and bumpy in a few places! Four-wheel drive is recommended in the wettest part of the winter, and please drive carefully any time of the year in whatever vehicle you bring.
As a guest, you are free to access any part of the 220-acre property except other campsites (there is currently only one).
This listing is located on The Riverbend Preserve, a private nature park, so there is no hunting, fishing, or foraging. Please do not discharge any firearms during your stay.
The forest to the west of the Preserve is Washington State land, and on occasion locals go up into the hills to target shoot. In the unlikely event that this happens during your stay, don't be alarmed; the British are *not* coming.
This land is a nature preserve with lots of wildlife. You're welcome to bring your pet, but keep small animals close to you as there are coyotes and predatory birds in abundance. Black bears and mountain lions also live in the hills, so please always be cautious while hiking and exploring.
If you use AT-T, Verizon, T-Mobile, US Cellular, or most major carriers you can expect good cell service. Single use or small cellular carriers may have intermittent signal or no signal at all after you leave the City of Chehalis behind.
Most important of all, relax and enjoy your stay in this incredibly peaceful and secluded valley.

We had such a wonderful stay at this campsite! The host, Marc, was incredibly kind, responsive, and helpful throughout our entire visit. Anytime we had a question or reached out, he was quick to respond and made sure we had everything we needed.
The setup was absolutely perfect for our few days there. Everything was thoughtfully prepared and ready for us — firewood, cooking supplies, a refrigerator, and even a fantastic outdoor shower. We really appreciated all the extra touches like dish soap, body wash, shampoo, and conditioner, plus clean towels provided for the shower.
The bed was very comfortable, and when the nights got a little chilly we were well taken care of with plenty of blankets and two heaters. It made the tent feel cozy and relaxing.
The only small disappointment was that the wood-burning stove inside the tent isn’t available until the fall season, so we weren’t able to use it during our stay. That said, it didn’t take away from the overall experience.
Overall, this was a fantastic glamping experience. Everything we needed was right there, the space was thoughtfully set up, and the host truly went above and beyond. We would absolutely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a comfortable and well-equipped camping getaway!
The Riverbend Preserve was beautiful, very peaceful, serene and private. There were several hiking trails available, including ones with access/views of the Chehalis river.

Truly beautiful, tranquil break away. The cottage is stunning and there's so much space between the RV spot and the cottage itself. Our host was so kind and friendly, and very accommodating. Would definitely recommend and would love to stay again.

For under $100 a night, cant beat it. Sleeps 4 with bathroom. Bring an instapot or something for cooking.
They had karaoke the night we stayed.

The tree house we stayed in was dry and had everything we needed to make delicious meals. My favourite part of the trip was the hot tub that Mokey set up for my sis and I. Mokey was also responsive to our needs and overall a lovely host to have.

I keep coming back here because i love to photograph eagles. The camper is so cozy and has everthing needed for a stay. It's also very clean and extremely safe for a solo traveler. Camas, the hipcamp owner, is the best!

Honestly one of the best Hipcamp experiences I've had, I highly recommend!
The RV was clean, well maintained and extremely cozy.
The views of the estuary were amazing, even with heavy fog and rain.
The host was incredibly communicative, and welcoming.
I'll definitely come back in the future 😁

We were looking for a night away to spend my birthday.
We couldn’t have picked a more perfect place for us. This was better than any hotel we could have Chosen. The set up Is perfect. She put so much thought into making our arrival special. From the personalized note/instructions, the flowers, little patio over looking the water to the privacy fence to the easy access to the trailer. The host was very responsive and it was soooooo clean inside.
We will definitely be back to enjoy it again!

1 night at Pacific Dunes Resort
The set up was really cute! I loved how many different options there were depending on what type of adventure you want.
We stayed in a suite with a kitchenette. It had a little bit of everything and was perfect for our stay.
My only complaint would be that I wish the water in the shower was warmer. The place had good heaters though so that made up for it.
Otherwise it was a great place and I can't wait to stay here again.

What an incredible slice of perfection. Camas is an amazing hostess, providing beautiful flowers and welcome treats, fresh fruit from the property, and a safe van place to rejuvenate. The views were spectacular and I counted more than 25 birds during my stay. The final night, Camas was kind enough to let me know the bioluminescence were visible. Pure magic from the shoreline. This is definitely a spot worthy of visiting and returning to.

We had a wonderful stay at Pacific Dunes Resort! Our young twin boys absolutely loved the tiny house and the big sandbox at the center of the park, while our pup was welcomed with ease—truly a dog-friendly spot. The beach is just a short walk away and was absolutely lovely.
We went in thinking it might be a little nicer, but considering it’s a campground with lots of sand, it turned out to be really great and just what we needed. The resort’s location also worked perfectly for us: close to Ocean Shores, and just a bit further to the beautiful Lake Quinault. Having the Green Lantern Pub and a grocery mart nearby made things extra convenient.
All in all, it was the perfect weekend escape for our whole family. Highly recommend!

Had the best glamping trip in Pe Ell with my family—total private preserve with our own swimming hole and no crowds, just us and nature. Our dog loved roaming off-leash the whole weekend. It was super relaxing and honestly an ideal escape from the Labor Day chaos. Huge bonus: Marc (the host) was really responsive, answering questions fast and making sure we felt welcome the whole time. Can’t wait to go back!

3 nights at The Glen - Olympic Peninsula RV
We stayed in the Coho Cabins - what a luxury! Clean, upgraded, with every amenity you could think of, including a Nespresso. The park itself felt safe, with a nice spa-like hot tub with water views, great staff, and even games in the community area. Walk across the street to a deck with stunning views (you might even catch a glimpse of a seal) and a fairly quiet beach area. I spent many relaxing mornings on that deck. Only complaint is that the photos of the views from within the cabin are inaccurate - the cabins are stacked right next to each other, so there is no mountain or water view as advertised (just trees or the other cabins). Otherwise, such a nice experience.
