There are mountains, wetlands, meadows and forest land right in our back yard where we often see wildlife that call our area home. Elk, deer, turkeys, geese, ducks. rabbits, squirrels and the occasional cougar or bear. At any time, one critter or another will stroll through and check out our guests. We don't have a view of the river but it's nearby and our meadows and mountains offer a peaceful scene all its own. Feels like we're in the country but we live on a paved county road and only 4 miles from the city of Priest River. Bring your boat for a trip on the Pend Oreille River to Lake Pend Oreille. Launching is a short distance away at the Mud Hole, Priest River City Beach or Riley Creek Campground. Try your hand at fishing for bass, kokanee, perch, northern pike, and trout in the river or on the lake. Wake up in a peaceful woodsy setting where elk, deer, the occasional moose and turkeys roam the property and are often seen in the meadow. Load up your ATV, side by side or motorcycle and head for Priest Lake right from here. It’s a 21 mile (40 minute ride) to Coolin, ID. Enjoy the back county and take some of the IDL roads along the way to explore scenic drainages and in July/August pick some luscious huckleberries (the state fruit of Idaho) for a pancake or milkshake treat. In the fall, a nice central location for hunting camp. Want to go skiing or enjoy the summer lift ride? Head up to Schweitzer Mountain, about an hour drive away (38 miles/65 mins). The city of Sandpoint and Lake Pend Oreille (Idaho's largest lake) are a half hour away (26 miles/33 mins) and Silverwood Theme Park in Athol, ID less than an hour away (36 miles/52 min).

Our property was originally homesteaded back before Idaho was a state by a trapper who fell in love with this lush little valley in the mountains. Once Idaho did become a state, the officials decided to keep the land surrounding this little oasis making it completely surrounded by thousands of acres of state endowment land usable to the public. There are three full time creeks that run though the property along with a few beaver made ponds and one large man made swimming pond. Expect to see deer, elk, moose, turkey and a few other wild animals roaming the land around you. We have the space for event camping as well, we have a large covered gazebo for shaded group meals. Furthermore there is also a band stand for ceremonies and live music on select dates. We’re only 12 miles from town but you get that feeling of being out of the rush of the outside world.

This is a very private and quiet place, more of a sanctuary and not a party place. The only thing you hear is nature, a breeze through the pine trees, the birds, and the creek. This property was and is an organic permaculture farm in the forest. There are two orchards and an organic garden. The water is from a spring. The La Luna cabin is no longer off grid, but if the power does go out, it's a great place to be.. Hot Showers at my cabins are private and outdoors. There's nothing more wonderful than a hot spring-fed shower. The toilets are composting. (No water is wasted here)! Two of the cabins were built from the trees on the property by the first family that lived here in the earlier 1900s. The Birds Nest cabin was originally a tool shed that needed a LOT of Love to be in the condition that it is today. It does have power, running water and wi-fi. There is the option to take an acrylic painting class, banjo, guitar or fiddle lessons, paddleboard lessons, and have a real old-timey campfire with a glass of wine or two with live music performed by our famous Fiddlin Red on the fiddle, banjo, and guitar. Your experience here may change your life forever! We haven't added all the experiential options yet, so if there is something you are interested in please inquire. Every year we make it more and more magical and interesting. It's four miles up a county-maintained dirt road and one mile to a non-motorized lake. I can't see my neighbors, but they are awesome artists and musicians and some of them are off the grid! If you're bringing a pet, they must be on a leash and be quiet pets. If you are bringing a child they also need to be quiet and respectful. I want to keep my neighbors and my other guests happy with a peaceful atmosphere. Thank you!

Our property is located on 7 forested acres a few miles from Sandpoint. We have a few different houses on the property where parts of my family live. There are 3 rental spots that are all creek side and next to each other. You can wade in the shallow creek, swim in the pond, enjoy a walk up the road or camp area and just enjoy your camp spot surrounded by the forest and creek. There are also many trails and adventures within a 15 min drive of the property. We have a few dogs that live on property and like to come say hi to the campers and play fetch. The dogs are all friendly, but we ask that any guests bringing their own dogs please keep them on a leash as we do not know how they would all interact each other or local wildlife.

If you are trailer camping you will have to back in from the public roadway up an incline to access the spot. If you aren't comfortable backing your trailer in this spot might not be for you. We also welcome tent and van campers! There is a fire ring, a picnic table, tiki bar, decks, chairs, and an outhouse. There is a trail down to the dock where you can launch kayaks, paddle boards or canoes. New this season, 4 kayaks included with your stay!! The property is situated on the end of the lake with lily pads and beaver dens…. its beautiful but not the best swimming spot! If you want to take a dip in the lake the public boat launch is less than a half mile down the road! If you have an electric boat motor you are more than welcome to use it but no motor boats are allowed on this lake. If this sounds like the perfect get away for you, we cannot wait to host!

We had the best long weekend at Clagstone. The site is everything you would need camping . Clean and quiet and a great place to hangout. Rich gave us a call when we got in and offered firewood and a fire pit and told us some spots to check out nearby. Then checked in with us when we left and made sure everything went well . If we ever go to Idaho again we will definitely be staying there. It was the best long weekend getaway where we could relax and hangout . Nicest camp spot we’ve been to so far! Thanks Rich!

Tucked away down a dirt road, this secluded, wooded spot is perfect for relaxing and getting away from the hustle of town life. With just three RV sites, each offering full hookups, it’s a small, quiet setup that gives you plenty of space to unwind. The setting is all about nature—trees, calm surroundings, and that true “middle of nowhere” feeling (in the best way). Rich, the host, really makes the stay even better. He’s friendly, welcoming, and full of great recommendations for nearby dinner spots and coffee stops—always a bonus when you’re exploring a new area. If you're needing a camp spot anywhere in the area - this is the one! We've stayed at many hipcamps all over the country and I'd have to say that Rich's camp was the cleanest, nicest, and over all best one we've stayed at so far. The site: It was peaceful and surrounded by woods. Rich put a lot of thought into designing the layout and it absolutely shows. We were far enough off the road (dirt and quiet) that the few cars that did pass were no issue at all. You can't even see the road from the situation your camper . The gravel pad was perfectly level and didn't even require leveling blocks (a first for us). We had the place all to ourselves, except for the wild turkeys who would pass through occasionally. The view of pines from every window was just so nice and relaxing. There was also a gazebo with picnic table provided that was fantastic. Clean, sturdy and very important - spider free! Rich: What a truly nice man! The world would be a better place if there were more people like Rich. He reached out before check-in and gave us directions to the spot, eating recommendations for in town, activity ideas, and checked on us day of to see how our travel was going. He stopped by to ensure that we were doing ok during our stay, and stayed to chat for while. It was lovely. Needless to say we would absolutely stay again.

Site 1 is spacious and includes 50 amp electrical service and water hookup. RV's up to 55' and room for parking 2 vehicles. The lot is fairly open but is surrounded by trees. Includes a fire pit, picnic table, firewood, a big deck/table and a bbq.

A very nicely appointed site a short drive from town and plenty other great outdoor activities. It's the perfect base camp for exploring the area of Northern ID. Sites have full hookups, are level, private and wide, with a covered picnic bench and a small, lockable shed. The amenities at this Hipcamp reset my expectations and are now the baseline by which all others will be judged. Other than a short semi-steep climb off the road, it's very easy to get into your spot (even for large rigs). A few FYI's to be aware of. First, bring Yellow Jacket traps. They were constant when we visited in late August. They're chasing moisture, so keep wet stuff away from you and you'll be fine. Second, this is the real Idaho. There's a sandpit a few miles away where people shoot, as well as a local competition on Sunday at another location near the Hipcamp. Both are shooting away from your location, so you're not "down range"...but something to be aware of.

Amazing - the best full hookup experience I’ve had. The nicest hosts you’ll ever meet with breathtakingly comprehensive hospitality: they had a hose connected and waiting for me, with a little brass sprayer in case I needed it, and a solar powered puck light strategically positioned so I could find the power breaker in the dark. The grounds were better maintained than most golf courses, and the place felt nicely off-grid while being super easy to access from main roads. Neighboring sites were close but since you’d all be camping basically in RV paradise, and you have power and water, so who cares, really?! Simply lovely. I’ll be back.

Our stay was great! Frank is most accommodating and was able to help us out with the local stuff too. We based out of here for our trip to Silverwood. It was a bit farther than most of the HipCamp's that mentioned Silverwood - but it was really just fine. When we shared our desire to watch for meteors, Frank informed us that the property had a great little bench at the back of the property. Not too far and oh what a wonderful view. The only less than perfect thing was a bit of a happy dog that humped my son's leg. But once we told Frank- he agreed that it was unacceptable and wouldn't happen again. I'd happily stay here again and would recommend it to others. Very private setup!

We loved this camping area. A small forest with a big meadow and very beautiful and quiet area to camp. Only 3.5 miles from the river and swimming area.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Under the Cedars. Matt and Deb are outstanding hosts who clearly care about creating a great camping experience. The site was peaceful, clean, and beautifully maintained. It’s obvious they take great pride in the property and work hard to make it welcoming for all guests. We would absolutely camp here again.

1 night at Blue Lake RV Resort

Site was charming, with plenty of forest cover and a pond. Folks were very cordial. Hook-ups worked. The campground sits adjacent to the highway and there are somewhat busy train tracks. But, honestly, the site was quiet enough for a restful stay. My only negative would be that the campground is comparatively expensive.

Weekend Trip to Under the Cedars

Took my family here for my littles first trip & it most definitely exceeded our expectations!! Matt & Deb were wonderful! They had painted rocks all around the property for the kids to find and receive a prize! They had firewood ready at each camp. The sites were very clean & well taken care of! The view is AMAZING & it’s just a short drive to nearby swimming beaches/ fishing docks & dog beaches! 1000/10 will be coming back!!

Very nice quiet spot. One of my teenagers was talking about of it how it was just what a camp site was supposed to look like for her. The trees and fire ring… all is kept very clean and communication was great coming and going.

Very nicely appointed campground, clean, and hosts were very helpful and friendly. Kind of noisy next to the highway but that is most RV parks unless your off the beaten path

The campsite was very nice. Easy to find. Perhaps I missed in the Hipcamp listing that there are actually 3 campsites here, so it's not 100% private, but they're spread out enough that it's ok.
