Moose Camp A
I loved the quiet seclusion and the fact it was close to Silverwood which was our vacation destination.
Our adventure at Mad Moose Ranch was absolutely amazing. Vicki and Ron were incredible hosts — welcoming, friendly, and instantly felt like family. The property was spotless, peaceful, and surrounded by beautiful woods.
We brought our mountain e‑bikes and spent two days riding outstanding trails. Being able to hop on our bikes and access what felt like endless routes for every skill level was a dream.
And on our last morning, we were blessed with the most magical surprise — two cow elk and their babies wandered right behind our camper. It was the perfect icing on the adventure cake.
We’ll definitely be coming back. Full hookups, gorgeous scenery, and hosts who truly care — it doesn’t get better than this. Thank you again, Vicki and Ron. You two are amazing.

Beautiful, quiet spot! Ron and Vicki were very welcoming and helpful throughout our stay. The spot was very spacious and had lots of lovely details, including freshly cut flowers at our picnic table.
Great spot if you want to hit up Silverwood! We also used the trailhead right up the road to mountain bike. We’d absolutely stay again! Thank you, Vicki and Ron! 🌻
Sally and Ron were incredible hosts! Campsite was really clean and port a potty was literally the cleanest I’ve seen in my life. We got groceries at Super One Foods in Athol about 10 min away, spent our days playing in the lake in Bayview, rented paddle boards at MacDonald Resort, incredible service, then Silverwood which is only about 10 min away on back roads. It was nice to unwind at Moose Ranch in the evenings where it was quiet and peaceful.
We had the best experience at Mad Moose Ranch! Vicki and Ron were wonderful hosts- very welcoming, helpful with local tips, and provided the perfect spot for a peaceful base camp. The sites are generous in size, plenty of space for rvs and trailers and between sites, and private from the main house. The porta potty is spotless and a nice added convenience. We'll definitely be back!

Beautiful site! Quiet and private. We rode our bikes to Farragut State Park. Full hook ups for our RV. We rented both sites so we could have complete privacy. The sites are close together ideal for a large group.
This is an amazing campsite. Very spacious and level. We were the only RV there so it was also private and quiet. Vicki and Ron are very gracious hosts. We plan to come again and stay longer.
Great place. Would highly recommend. Easy to get to.
Favorite hip camp. Thoroughly enjoyed the spacious and level sites. Peaceful location surrounded by trees. The friendliest hosts around. Convenient location near a multitude of activities. Will be back each season.

We loved our stay!
This was our second time staying here. It is so quiet and peaceful. Very clean Porta potty with a hand wash station.
So far one of our favorite Hipcamp!
We had a lovely stay. The hosts were wonderful and very easy to work with. Location was spectacularly clean and centrally located for outdoor adventure. We will be back!
What a lovely spot!
Our first trip out in our trailer and it was perfect. Such a nice shaded, clean, level spot with everything you could need.
So close to Farragut State Park for a day in nature, but also close to a grocery store for the things I inevitably forgot.
Ron and Vicki were so kind and easy to communicate with.
The RV spots were beautiful and very private. The hosts are very nice and made it easy to book. Highly recommend!
Absolutely perfect long weekend at the Mad Moose! From the warm friendly conversations with our amazing hosts, Ron & Vicki to our great spot (B) with a fantastic view for watching stars and wildlife! Very relaxing area for reading and just chillin. Farragut State Park is just a short drive, great afternoon exploring the museum and park. We’re already looking ahead to plan our trip next year when grandson will be old enough for Silverwood😎 Thank you Ron & Vicki for your hospitality and sharing your beautiful property, truly a slice of heaven 😎😎

We had a great stay! Easy check in, super clean and well kept spot. Just a few minutes from lots of fun activities!
The search is over! This is the ideal spot!
Ron and Vicki were so kind, helpful and easy to communicate with.
They met us as we arrived and even shared some of their homegrown garlic with us!
This was our first experience using Hip Camp and I can’t imagine it getting any better than this.
The location was easy access to Farragut State Park, Sandpoint, Coeur d’Alene and other smaller towns in the area.
The campsite was spotless and extremely quiet and peaceful.
There was even a porta potty nearby with a hand wash station.
If you are in the area, I highly recommend booking your stay here and even adding on a couple days just to enjoy the peace of the campsite. Thank you again Ron and Vicki for providing such an amazing place!

Our experience at The Mad Moose Ranch was nothing short of wonderful. Loved the location, very quiet and spacious. My husband, 2 kids and I took the pop-up camper for a trip to silverwood and we will definitely go back. Ron and Vicki are so kind & helpful. Thank you for allowing us to use your space <3
We booked site B and our friends booked site A. There are no other sites on their 20 acre property so it felt like our own private campground. Ron and Vicki were welcoming and friendly and greeted us when we arrived to check us in and go over the campground rules.
This is a lovely property, close to Sandpoint, Lake Pend Oreille (Farragut SP), and hiking. We rented a pontoon boat in Bayview which is a great way to see the lake. There is a very clean outhouse with sink in it next to the camp sites for those who may not have bathroom facilities in their RV or who are tenting. Each site has its own picnic table as well.
We would definitely stay here again. Thank you Ron and Vicki!

This is a fantastic site. The sites are large and level. It has a super clean porta-potty if you need. The hosts are incredibly friendly. This is a great location that is super convenient for Silverwood, CD’A, Sandpoint, and Farragut State Park. I highly recommend this site.
This spot is a gem. Ron and Vicky have put a lot of work into a shaded, level full hook up camping heaven. Spots are well shaded, with minimal bugs, and very quiet. Very close to Lake Pend Oreille and farragut state park. We watched wild Turkeys roost in a tree next to camp and deer graze behind our trailers. Good hiking in the area as well as miles of excellent bike paths. This was our third visit and there will be more.
Oh my gosh! If you can you should absolutely stay here! We had such a nice time. Easily accessible, full hookups, easy to back our 28’ trailer into, quiet, and clean! We booked this site because we wanted to use Farragut’s facilities but couldn’t get in. Honestly, it’s so close and so much quieter I didn’t mind paying the $14 out of state day pass fees each day. We had our dog with us and since he was not allowed at Beaver Bay we utilized Willow Day Use area and beach to kayak and swim. (We launched from Eagle launch and paddled all the stuff for the day over). Ron and Vicki were so welcoming and Vicki even gave us some Bok Choy from her garden. Very kind people and we can’t wait to stay again!

Ron and Vicki's Mad Moose Ranch was perfect for us. The sites are very flat, nicely maintained and situated away from their home, allowing for privacy for both campers and for Ron and Vicki. The port-a-john is very nice, with a sink, and super clean. The location is perfect for day trips to CDA and Sandpoint. We were visited by deer, rabbits and turkeys during our stay, and Ron said we missed the Elk come thru while we were out for the evening. The 2 sites are immediately next to one another, perfect if you have a group with 2 RV's and book them both but could be awkward if the sites are booked separately and the other party has different camping habits. There was no one in site A when we stayed, so we didn't have this situation. Overall, we would highly recommend it and will stay again if our travels take us back to the area.

Ron and Vicki were absolutely amazing hosts for my very first RV camping experience. From the start, their communication was clear, friendly, and helpful, which made everything so much easier. The site itself was beautiful, peaceful, and well-maintained—exactly what I was hoping for. They went out of their way to make sure we had everything we needed and felt welcome. Thanks to them, my first RV trip was a total success. Highly recommend staying at Mad Moose Ranch!
