Paradise on Mirror Lake

*** Voted BEST Hipcamp in Idaho 2022 and 2024, and 2nd BEST in 2023 *** Like a postcard photograph, Bigfoot Campout is perched up about 50 feet over Mirror Lake, sitting in a mountain bowl on one end of the lake. Campers will have gorgeous views and sunsets over the lake. Fishing, swimming, kayaking, paddle boarding, sailing, hiking and wildlife watching abound. The campsite is off-the-beaten path so you'll be away from the crowds, yet the site is still close to other area attractions like Lake Pend Oreille (10 min. drive), charming downtown Sandpoint (15 min. drive) & Silverwood Theme Park (30 min. drive). The beauty and allure of Mirror Lake led to it being featured in two Hollywood movies -- Dante's Peak (1997) and Mel (1998). The lake itself is excellent for fishing, and stocked with Kokanee, Brook Trout, Rainbow Trout, and Cutthroat Trout. Paying homage to the Bigfoot legend in northern Idaho, the theme of this campground is all things Sasquatch! Can you find all nine Sasquatch throughout the campground? Some are hidden, others are in plain sight! Swimming in nearby Talache Landing (a.k.a. Talache Beach) on the shores of Lake Pend Oreille is an absolute must-do. The views are absolutely stunning and the water is crystal clear -- and quite refreshing on a hot day. Fishing is best done in a canoe or small boat which can be put in at our campground dock (free) or at the nearby public boat ramp ($5 fee). Fishing off of the campground dock is also a possibility but beware that lily pads are prevalent. Please obey all of the camp rules which are listed on the laminated brochure at the campground entrance. The most important campground rule is leaving the campground just as you found it. This means packing out all trash to prevent wildlife from visiting our campground! A bit of history... In 2021, the campsites were graveled and graded, each with their own picnic table and fire pit. A mulch tent pad was added to Campsites C & D. An on-site portable toilet was also installed at this time. In 2022, 50-30-20-Amp electric pedestals for camper and RV use were installed in campsites B and C/D. (Electric fee may apply -- please ask Host.) Also, a sand tent pad was installed in campsite F. In 2023 a brand-new 70' elevated nature-walk & dock were installed on the lakefront. In campsite E, a mulch tent pad was installed. Also, an interactive "Enchanted Forest" was added to the campground, which lights up a night to reveal all of the woodland creatures that live there! (Kids love this!) In 2024, a small lakefront cabin was added down by the dock at Campsite A. An "Amenities Shed" full of several camping games like horseshoes, bocce, and corn hole was also added by the Port-A-Potty. In 2025, a well & pump will be installed, allowing campers to fill up with potable water within steps of each campsite. Also, a new grass beach will be created by the dock, which will be great for picnicking. As the host for this campground, I do not live on-site. You may reach me anytime before, during, or after your stay via phone, text or Hipcamp messenger. I almost always respond within a few minutes. Detailed directions, and camp information will be sent to every booked guest 48 hours prior to their arrival. Angell Creek Campground is located in beautiful Island Park Idaho. It has been in our family for over 50 years. We are surrounded by pine trees, and it is a quiet place to escape the noise of the world. It is a place to recharge and enjoy the outdoors. Our campsite is close to West Yellowstone and only 30 mi. from Yellowstone National Park. Island Park has a lot to offer including: boating, waterskiing, fishing, canoeing, swimming, hiking, trail riding and much more. All of these activities are within a few minutes away. We are in close proximity to highway 20 and easy access to services and dining. We have a very large parking area where you can park trailers and vehicles. We have about 3 acres and have 5 RV spots. We have a central sheltered picnic area and a big fire pit. Each pad is rented at $40 a night with provided 50 amp and 20-amp camper power. No water or sewer is provided. There is a porta potty on location from May 24th-Sept. 30th 2024. Must pack out all of your trash or be a accessed a cleaning fee per lot. Although wanting to keep this campground in a primitive state, we will be adding a few updates in coming years. Pets allowed on a leash.

Our Inn also has great tent sites, plus both 30 amp and 50 amp RV/Camper sites with water and electric, a firepit and picnic table each, plus a fee dump station. We are currently planning/building another shower/restroom house and a laundry mat. There is a fee dump station on site. With over ten acres of property to play at and stroll, your stay will be one of fun, peace and quiet. Our RV & Camp is fun! We have our famous Borrow Barn with loads of complementary activities including a 9 hole disc golf course with maps/disc/scorecards, free pedal boats, Little Free Library #69967, volleyball, tetherball, badminton, board games and more, plus our cruiser bicycles in our Bike Corral are for guests to enjoy on property also. Mountain View Glamping Yurt

Nestled high in the Rocky Mountains of southeast Idaho at an elevation of 6500 ft, our yurt has magnificent views of Mt. Bonneville and the surrounding Pebble Creek Basin. Along with a handful of neighbors, within a private property recreational area, we are surrounded by the Caribou-Targhee National Forest, with vehicle access from mid-May through mid-November each year. Pebble Yurt has a 30 ft diameter with a partial loft for a total of 900 ft2 of indoor living space. You will be completely off grid, but with running hot and cold water, solar electricity, and heating and cooling features. We also feature an indoor shower, sink, and composting toilet. Bring your ATV's, mountain bikes, or hiking boots to explore the Pebble Basin. Or take a short drive to Lava Hot Springs for world-class hot pools, water slides, or white water rafting. Fishing in the Portneuf River or Chesterfield Reservoir, exploring the Chesterfield historic town site, or trying out a zipline or go-cart are other local activities. Pebble Yurt was built circa 2010 by a retiring forest service employee to the highest standards. We've used that canvas to create a unique glamping experience for our guests, with the best creature comforts available in a wilderness setting.

Triple M Camp

Triple M Camp is an 18-acre summer camp property with cabins, dining hall and commercial kitchen, located on Upper Twin Lake, ID. There are 6 cabins, situated conveniently between the cabins is the restroom with 6 showers, sinks and toilets, 3 per gender. The Pavilion, a large covered concrete area, is a short walk from the restrooms. Behind the cabins are two large grass fields. Between them is a firepit with raised benches and another firepit with a stage and seating. Next to the firepits and field is a large play structure and rock-climbing wall. Past the fields are walking/snowshoeing trails and camp sites. The camp is not directly on the lake, but above it for stunning views of the surrounding mountains. Across Twin Lakes Road and down an inclined dirt path is the 250ft sandy beach. Bring a kayak or boat to explore the shores on the opposite side of the upper lake or venture through the shallow canal to the lower lake for more boating opportunities. Apologetically, the docks are unavailable for mooring water toys. There are many other activities nearby Twin Lakes. Just down the road is the Twin Lakes Village Golf Course. The popular tourist town Coeur d’ Alene, ID and Silverwood Theme Park are 30 minutes away. Not to mention several other lakes within 30 minutes.

Learn more about this land:This isn't a fancy retreat or crowded campground. Its just my personal little slice of heaven that i want to share with people. There is a RV pad set to park a large camper or van on as well as a grassy meadow that would be very comfortable for a smaller camper or 4WD van. The property is a shady thick aspen forest with occasional clearings and undeveloped game trails. You can expect to see wildlife if you stay for very long at all. It's very common to see moose, rabbits, foxes, deer and all kinds of birds frolicking in the woods. The property is also about a 2 mile drive from 2 different national forest access areas both offering unique hiking, fishing, off roading , skiing, and exploring. Also, grand Targhee ski resort is only a 20 minute drive from the house. The Teton river " 30 minutes away" has world class fishing for everyone from kids to serious fly fisherman. We have 3 friendly labrador muts living on the property so if you have dogs that like to play in the woods and are friendly to other dogs, bring them! Campfires are not out of the question but are extremely dependent on weather conditions.
