A 3-person salt-water hot tub is available, contingent on availability. $50/hr. and requires a shower before entering. Spa robes, towels, and slippers are provided, depending on availability.
2 e-bikes and 1 mountain bike, all of which are contingent upon availability. A signed waiver is required. Minimum age is 16 years old or at the discretion of the host. They cost $25/hr. per person.
Experienced horse riders can book horse rides for $50/hr. per person. Inexperienced riders must be led using a lead rope. Signed waivers and provided helmets are required.
Our in-ground, unheated swimming pool is open mid-April to end October. $60/hr.
Please place any donations in the marked box in the barn. Our perennially hungry rescues appreciate it!

THE CAMPGROUND IS REGISTERED WITH MONTGOMERY COUNTY SHORT TERM RENTALS LICENSE # STR25-00075. The campground is situated in the wooded area on the back of 27 acre horse farm which is known as "The Stables at Mezza Luna." There is Wi-Fi to all the sites.
Every year in the spring there are 4-6 Thoroughbred foals born that eventually will become racehorses. They live on the farm until they are 2 years old and then they go off to begin their racing career.
In the daytime, when you are not sitting around your campfire, you can walk the fence lines and visit with the Mares and Foals or just watch them frolic in the fields. Hint! "They love peppermints, carrots and apples."

It’s separated into two regions, Rock Run and High Knob, the latter of which looks down upon two valleys and the northern reaches of the Shenandoah Mountains.The park features a sweet 16 miles of trails and a unique stone lodge called the Tea Room. It was originally built by the CCC in the 1930s for community events and gatherings. Our property is in Howard County, Maryland, and is super convenient to I-95, I-295, Hwy 32, and I-70. It is centrally located between Washington, DC, Baltimore, MD, and Frederick, MD. We are located right off of Highway 32 down a long, private paved driveway. What makes our property unique is all that it has to offer--it's an 18 acre oasis with mature woods protected by a conservation deed, lightly rolling hills, beautiful fields, wetlands, and a pond. It is not surprising to see deer and our local great blue heron on the property throughout the day. There is also a fire pit, which you are free to use. Firewood is free, though it may get wet when it rains.

From the flat land at the bottom to the top of the mountain, this is a place where you can find a spot to sit and think, draw, paint, nap, or identify over 30 medicinal plants in their natural habitats (absolutely NO harvesting of medicinals or wildflowers!). Listen to the many birds, spot the wildflowers.
Some areas are accessible by wheelchair, while others are not, but all areas offer something to sustain your spirit.
If you feel the need to explore the area, you are within walking distance of NotaViva Farm Brewery and Winery, 15 dirt road minutes from the new Sweet Run State Park one direction and Breaux Vineyard in the other direction. The Appalachian Trail is just over the top of the mountain and Harpers Ferry National Park is down the road and over the Shenandoah River.

All hail William Smallwood. Not only did he serve in the Revolutionary War, but he left behind the ideal escape from beltway chaos. Just 40 minutes outside DC, Smallwood State Park is a 628 acre paradise with a marina, boat launching ramps, a picnic area, camping area, pavilions, a recycled tire playground and nature trails. If you’re down for a little history (and maybe a little mystery) Cedarville State Forest will definitely dazzle. The 3,510 acre forest was once the winter camping ground of the Piscataway Tribe because of the mild climate and abundance of game. Legend claims that there is a Native American burial ground within the forest... but it has yet to be found. Spooky! Equestrian, family and youth group campsites are available for your overnight stay. 19.5 miles of horseback riding, hiking and mountain biking trails weave through the forest. They pass a number of historical features, including the loblolly pine plantations that were planted by the Civilian Conservation Corps in the 1930's, by a charcoal kiln, and through farm areas whose springs and streams were used to make moonshine!

Antique shopping abounds in the nearby charming, little town of New Market. So you're hungry and have a hankering for local cuisine? Greg was easy to communicate with & went above & beyond making his sites comfy & shaded.
Only stayed one night but we were able to take a great walk along the canal path that is down the hill before you get to river.
We were saying how we’d like to stay longer next time while exiting & almost didn’t make it out!!
Unfortunately, the grade back to the driveway was too steep for us. Would not recommend anything but a four-wheel-drive vehicle for both upper AND lower campsites. We were driving a converted ram Promaster 3500 extended.
Our running boards did not fare well would’ve loved to return but not worth it without 4WD.

Camping here was great! We tented at site 8 and had a great time. Access to the canal and fishing was directly behind the sites which was very awesome. The place is beautiful and would be great to bring your dogs or kids along. We even were visited by a couple camp kitties. Definitely will be back soon!

This was the best camping experience we’ve ever had. My friends and I gathered at hilltop one for a birthday campout weekend. The site is spectacular with an expansive view of the mountains and the moonrise. This land is sacred, you can feel the care that has gone into tending it. Greg is an absolute gem. He anticipated our needs the entire time and we parted as friends. He went above and beyond to help us have the most amazing time. Thank you Greg!!! We can’t wait to come back!!!

Our first time camping here and we absolutely loved it! We camped at hilltop two and the views were absolutely incredible. It was super easy to find and Greg’s hospitality was so kind. This place is so perfect because the drive from Virginia has the best views and goes through really beautiful and scenic views to get to the site. Once on the site, we were able to go on several walks along the sea and O canal path and there is access to the river as well. I definitely recommend this site and we are coming back for sure!

Camp Comus was a wonderful stay near Sugarloaf Mountain and a cozy place to stay after a day of hiking. The grounds were beautiful, the animals were friendly and they provided ample firewood. The farmhands on the property were nice and really helpful.
Additionally, the barn house which housed the bathroom and shower was accessible throughout the night and easy to find (even in the dark).
10/10 property. Easily one of my favorite Hip Camps.
