We welcome guests to our charming location 1413 Cold Spings Road, Stuarts Draft, VA. Near Waynesboro. if you want to come during off season, contact us, perhaps we can host you. We are in a rural area, near a town, and on a lovely scenic road with no streetlight or stop lights. Near the Blue Ridge hills, Appalachian trail, Sherando Lake, several camp grounds, South River, many streams and some national forest.
We once had a large group of permaculture students that was very satisfied. We are developing in 2025 Lots of open here so campfires are ok.
We have space for a motorhome to 24 feet with electric, and space for small RVs, tent, or trailer One place is great for a hammock between trees. If you have a group, room for a dozen small tent sites so contact us. We can work something out. Land is mostly level we are in a lovely recreational area.

Come camp on the peaceful banks of the Cowpasture river. This is a great place to come to get away from the noise and just relax. The river depth along the property ranges from a few inches to 6ft. Most sites offer partial shade. Open field area for playing games. Large communal fire pit beside the river. We also have a communal Shelter that has two booth style tables under it.
Nearby places of interest including Falling Springs waterfall, Humpback Bridge, Lake Moomaw, Douthat State Park...all within less than an hours drive.
Only a few minutes from the closest town, incase you need food, supplies, fuel, etc.

We loved camping here! It was a beautiful piece of land that was far enough removed from other campers that you could feel secluded. The earth was flat and malleable from the clay (but not too messy), making great terrain for tent stakes and setting up anchors for the dogs. Great commodities and clear, effective communication from the host- Immensely helpful and accommodating every time we reached out. Our puppies loved the sound of the wind in the trees and their interest was continuously piqued by the roaming fowl. We particularly liked the white turkeys at sunrise! Definitely would love to return.

Great campground! We needed something last minute due to a change of plans so we were thrilled this place was open. The pond was super cute, we were delighted to see ducks and other birds. The hosts dogs were also so sweet and hung out with us around our fire! What a treat! Def recommend! Her camp is situated in the most beautiful rural neighborhood, driving in at sunset was awesome.

Amazing location, accessed via accurate directions. We set up at the (most obvious) site next to the picnic table and Solo stove. Enjoyed the gentle bleating of sheep in the adjacent farm, as well as the protective attention of the sheep dogs. Everything was as described. Serendipity--Devil's Backbone Brewing is not too far down the road--highly recommend!

Absolutely stunning view and it is very private. Other than the contractors building a house well below the campsite I never saw a single person. Exactly my kind of camping.
Some things to know. Be prepared for wind. You are exposed on top of a ridge. There was a strong breeze every afternoon. Then this morning about 5AM it got crazy when a storm front rolled in. I’ve been in a tent in some very high wind, but nothing like this. I’ve got a great high quality tent and even so I thought one of the poles might snap. Be prepared.
This is a good Hipcamp and I would go back. I would however encourage the owners to maybe spruce the actual site up a little. As I said the view is stunning, but the site itself is kind of a moonscape without a stitch of shade to avoid the sun, and it was HOT, unseasonably HOT for April. Did I mention it was HOT? The campsite appears to be the start of a house pad where the owners decided it was just too much effort to build. Maybe plant a couple trees and really make it something special? Just my suggestion. But all things considered it was a great trip and I recommend the property and hope to return!

Weekend Trip to Love Ridge Mountain Lodging
My wife and I loved glamping here. The cabin was clean, well maintained and very cozy. The cabin was outfitted like a tiny home with everything we needed to do some cooking, as well as a good size garden tub/ jacuzzi inside. You might get a stop by from the camp site cat (she is very sweet and will hang out with you on the patio) We enjoyed this so much we are planning to come back over the summer; highly recommend Love ridge if you need a cozy cabin in the blue ridge mountains!

I cant say enough about Frans place! Now once you enter you may feel like you entered in the wrong place. A sign is on a chair telling you to walk down steps to check in..no worries. Buddy the big loveable most precious dog in the world will greet you and show you where to go. You check in woth someone who helps.run the property. You may see lots of people(lots meaning 6 or 7) walking around. No worries again. The all live there and work together to keep thw property working. Its a got a ✌️ peace lets live together vibe! And thats my kind of vibe! Not in a weird way but a beautiful appreciation for rhe earth way. They have turkey, guineas, roosters, Mr Duck, Allie thw old dog, Buddy the most precious dog who walks you back to your campsite at night, tons of butterflies, chicks, Cats...etc! Beautiful piece of property that has butterflies everywhere! Im a nature lo er and even more an animal lo er. After I talked to them and learned about their mission, how they all came together and how unspoiled they wnat thos land to remain, I felt like I was home. My friend and I popped our tent,ate and walked around the property after our hike and we talked to the turkey who had a lot to say. They even visited our site! Buddy came there to greet us but I think the turkey came there to let us know it was time to go! I slept like a baby...and If you know me...I never sleep! I love Fran and listening to her. I cant wait to go back. Thinking about gathering around 6 women for a retreat!

Came here to touch some grass with my bestest friends for my birthday weekend. We had so much fun relaxing, cooking up steaks on fire, and floating around the river. The hosts Jamar’s and Lynn were so sweet and hospitable as well. Thank you!
