Nestled directly on a beautiful creek and surrounded by three different national forests, this is the perfect basecamp for your next adventure or a peaceful retreat to recharge with your loyal companion since we are pet-friendly. This isn't a crowded campground; it's your land to explore. Fall asleep to the sound of a gentle creek, wake up to crisp mountain air, and spend your days hiking, fishing, or simply relaxing by the fire. With direct access to thousands of acres of public land, the possibilities are endless. Whether you're looking for a weekend getaway in your tent or a longer stay in your self-contained RV, this slice of paradise offers the solitude and connection to the wild you've been searching for. The Space: Your campsite ensures total privacy and a true sense of seclusion. You park at the top of an embankment and walk down about a 10 foot decline. A capable 4 x 4 overland rig can drive down. Our home is situated on the far end of the property with its own separate entrance, while you’ll have your own driveway and gated entrance. We are close enough that if you need a cup of sugar or a telephone, we’re here for you—but we won’t intervene in your stay unless invited to, such as for a live guitar singalong by the fireside ;-) If you stay up late howling at the moon, or if your dog barks at wildlife late at night, you’re far enough away that we won’t be bothered. The property fronts a serene creek with truly pristine water. Due to the remoteness of the area, there is no industry or population density to pollute it. It’s perfect for cooling off on a warm day, trying your luck at fishing, or simply enjoying the tranquil sounds of flowing water. There are multiple large, semi-level areas perfect for setting up tents or parking self-contained RVs, giving you plenty of room to spread out and make yourself at home. We flattened out a creekside 9x10’ tent site. This is a true off-grid experience. Come prepared to disconnect, as there is no phone service, but we have installed WiFi. Enjoy the stars free from city light pollution.At this creekside frontage, you have ample space for a tent or two and to enjoy the provided cowboy kitchen style fire pit with a grill for cooking, live edge picnic table, two Adirondack chairs with cup holders, and there are walking trails on the surrounding acreage. We have provided a sawdust composting outhouse within walking distance. The site is down an embankment so we recommend parking your vehicle and walking down to set up camp. Because the tent is at this lower elevation, surrounded by land, you truly have a sense of privacy and seclusion at this off grid site. We want to emphasize that we are pet friendly. Your animals have a freedom to roam.

My group and I absolutely loved staying here! We’ve already talked about coming back for longer! The sky was so amazing, I can’t even describe it! Waking up next to the creek, such a bonus! The outhouse was so clean and the directions were clear. Thanks again for sharing this magical place!

Back Creek Primitive Camp Site

Meredith has created a serene spot in the middle of the Highlands. We loved the running creek and the open field filled with butterflies. We had our dog with us and he loved the freedom their camp allowed. The clean composting toilet was a great addition. Just down the road we discovered a maple syrup store and kitchen. You can sample there syrup and tour their kitchen we are planning our next trip.

Private, peaceful and beautiful location right on the bank of Upper Back Creek. Amazing stars. Cute, clean outhouse. Very nice host as well. I wish vehicles could get to the lower level but not the case. Suggest BYO firewood.

My fiance and I loved our stay at Meredeths camp! Lovely tent spot on a nice hay bed right along the stream. Very useful fire pit for cooking meals or just hanging out. Would love to come back one day!

Alright y'all, kind of a long review here, but let me get ahead and say, the site was well taken care of with table and benches available along with a Adirondack chairs and a firepit. There is an awesome stream right next to the site and a short trail nearby with access to a swimming /watering hole. The owners of the property were incredibly welcoming and kind; and asked if I needed anything! Bring a camera and tripod for milky way photography at night....without the moon, I could see EVERY STAR. I would absolutely recommend going here if you want to detach from modern life. There is absolutely zero cellphone reception, so plan accordingly. (Download your driving directions!) This wonderful site gave me a chance to detach and catch up on a few books. The owners are pet friendly, and allowed me to have my pup off leash, but she is well trained and was with me the whole time. Ten out of ten, would recommend.
