My husband and I stayed for 5 days. A really gorgeous spot however we were expecting river access during our stay. Unfortunately, it had grown up and no paths to the river had been maintained or mowed. Just beware that this is not a river side camp spot. You will be up a hill and around 300 yards from the river. The hosts were welcoming and showed us to our campsite. Everything was quiet and we still had an enjoyable week sans the river. Also, watch your step! There is cattle crossing in the ground you must cross on foot to move a bit of -un electrified fence netting to get in and out of the pasture. Not a problem if you’re careful. Firewood was available for a reasonable price and came in quite handy.

Farmstay Glamping Tent
Aaron has 40 beautiful acres in the Shenandoah Valley near Staunton. I stayed overnight in the glamping tent. It was private and peaceful stay. They are planning 2 more glamping sites. Highly recommend!

Easy to find. Great location. The platform made it easy to set up the site. Parking is on a gravel patch just off the driveway. We had to walk a few hundred from the car down the hill to the site. An easy walk with our backpacks.
Would have been a bit helpful to have a fire ring, given the site is in the middle of a field with tall grass. Also, BRING INSECT REPELLENT. There were SO MANY ticks. Wow.

Beautiful place with beautiful views, the host gave the option of camping at the creek but with the recent rains and more in the forecast I stayed up top on the gravel and have zero regrets. The views of the sunrise and sunset were amazing. You can always walk down to the river to see it as well. I would definitely recommend this place in the future and if I ever visit Polyface farm again I would consider coming here to stay because it's a short 15 minute scenic drive to the farm.

The reviews of the terrain are fair. The host was open to me staying at multiple places across his property but I ended up needing a tow truck to get me out.

The majority of the sites here are accessed by a hilly grass path. I would recommend only for 4x4 vehicles with good ground clearance. That being, said we found a great gravel spot at the top near the house which worked out perfect for us in our front wheel drive campervan.

The road thru the meadow to get to the river is relatively easy, but watch for big rocks hidden in grass opposite the rock retaining wall (maybe old home site). There are a few low hanging branches. In one case, we could go around, but an RV had to turn around bc they couldn’t make it under the limb.
Once at the river, It’s very peaceful and birds galore! We saw indigo buntings, blue heron among more common birds. The resident raccoon was curious once we went into our tent, which was fun!
Enjoy the local and the peace and calm.

River was awesome, falling sleep to the sound of the babbling water was great. Very quiet meadow with plenty of birds and wildlife. We saw fox, deer, various species of birds, and fish.
You will need AWD to get to dispersed camping area. Restroom not available in camping area and water available but a short trip back up the hill to refill water containers. All in all it was fun and very quiet & relaxing.
