The SiloSide barn and homestead is better known around town as the "Old Somers Farm" in reference to the day when the barn housed 60 head of cows. The farm was a part of the Cabot Creamery Cooperative, and closed this era in the late 1980s. Prior to being a dairy farm consisting of over 500 acres, the property served as a tavern, inn, tannery, and has always been a traditional, well-loved farmhouse. Our farmhouse was built in 1785, and the barn built around the 1830s and expanded in 1941. The soil here is rich, and the forest full of wildlife. The site boasts of meadows and a forested area in addition to a melodious creek to sooth your night's sleep. A heated shower and Propane heat is available (extra fee) for cool weather or Winter camping in our Glamping Cabin. Take in all the White Mountains have to offer each season. We have a meadow and forested area for your own tent/camping, our own spacious tent with camping pads or airbed, or glamping in our insulated shed with a comfy bed, and solar charger for an extra $20/night. Compost toilet, solar shower, and spring water on site as well. You will thoroughly enjoy this serene nature getaway! 2 nights minimum required.

In-Tents Camping is located in Jefferson surrounded by the White Mountain National Forest on a large parcel of farmland. Our property consists of fields, woods and a mountain cold stream. We are at the foot of Starr King Mountain trail, one of the many 4000' trails in the White Mountains. A HIKERS PARADISE! This is the perfect spot to camp if you're looking to hike Mount Washington or explore the many trails close to the property. PLEASE make sure you come prepared with the proper camping gear! You MUST bring a tent or RV for camping. Our campground is suitable for nature lovers or outdoor enthusiasts. We take incredible care of our land - it is not suitable for parties! PLEASE NOTE, we prefer arrivals before 9 pm, so please communicate what time you will be arriving with us beforehand :) We purchased this farm over a decade ago. Mike being a lifetime resident of Jefferson is very familiar with the local surroundings and attractions, we take pride in our community. We enjoy farming and gardening. We are blessed to have the opportunity to share this beautiful land with others that will hopefully enjoy it as much as we do. We are always working to enhance the property for a better camping experience.

My boyfriend and I loved camping on Betsey’s land. We were on Aspen Oasis site and everything we needed was there (cooking equipment, flashlight, towel, clean bed with tons of blankets, …)! The wooden stove is a must for the chilly nights, and Betsey provided plenty of wood for us to feel comfortable. We highly recommend !

Weekend Trip to Green Mountain Glamping

We LOVED our stay with Betsey!! Our crew rented the two bell tents and a tent site for a weekend bike trip. Each site was clean, well kept, and so cozy. The sites all have plenty of privacy while still being close proximity to the bathrooms and other sites. The bell tents had every single thing you could possibly think of. Solar powered lights, cute decor, maps of the area, a first aid kit, flash lights, bear horn, literally you name it and it was in there. It got down to 31 degrees at night consistently during our stay and our beds were stacked with blankets as well as flannel sheets. The beds are COMFY. The tents have a wood stove as well that heats up quick. I have never been to a more thoughtful glamping set up that still felt like a solid weekend of off grid camping. The stars are also insane on the property so be prepared to need a neck massage from looking up all night! Betsey was the best host and really, really cares. She was super attentive and incredibly kind start to finish. Not to mention the sites are just a quick ride to all of the trails as well as down town. 100/10 would stay with Betsey again and I’ll be recommending to anyone that’ll listen!! Thank you so much!!!
