Camping at Boulderdash was absolutely amazing. We rented tent site 1 and our friends rented tent site 2 and it worked perfectly to have that area together. The sites were clean, quiet and had awesome amenities including the outdoor kitchen area to share with each other. This made washing dishes, charging devices and washing hands so easy. The river is beautiful despite being low and there is easy access to it. They are pet friendly as long as your pet is friendly and that's a huge plus. The hosts were so kind as well, they even put on an easter egg hunt for all the kids on site Saturday night. I can't say enough great things and will definitely be back.

Fantastic camping spot! We booked out both of the river spots so that we had more room and privacy. It was perfect! The walk up to the bath house wasn’t bad at all. Facilities were nice and clean and cared for. We didn’t use the WiFi. The sink and electric were very conveniently located. There was an issue with the outlets, but the hosts were super quick to respond and got us set up with alternate electricity sites in the meantime. Incredibly accommodating. Being next to the water was perfect! The dogs loved it. Plenty of flat spots for tents and parking. Beautiful site. I’ve camped quite a bit within about a 3 hour radius of Austin, and this has been the best! Loved it

Extremely nice individuals, the staff were friendly and caring. They had and were happy to share the local spots to hang out and the cool things in the area, it was my first time setting up a tent and unfortunately I can’t remember the staff members name, but a woman came by the camp ground after my arrival at 10:30pm and saw me struggling and offered a hand to help I’ve gotta say thank y’all for being an epic can’t sight!

We enjoyed our stay in the big cabin. It fit our family of 7 and we had plenty of things to do! This place was perfect for kids, even toddlers. We felt safe the entire time and the property manager was there if we needed anything. We’ll definitely come back, but with friends!!!

We loved staying in the Ultimate Privacy Jupe. We swam, fished, paddle boarded and explored all day. The river access was awesome and we enjoyed the site a lot. The bed was comfy and we stayed warm and dry during an evening thunder storm. We will definitely be back.

We stayed at Tentrr 5B. Great camping site. The river nearby is awesome/clean water and good fishing. Very remote and was quiet at night.
Campsites are very close together so not really private. Hosts are nice. The bed was comfortable. Downside is the public restrooms and showers are absolutely disgusting/dirty. It’s worse than a nasty truck stop. I would not advise anyone much less a woman use them. Overall, though it’s a good place with great river access but if you’re looking for somewhere that you have a little privacy this is not it as there are RV’s/campsites stacked right on top of each other and people are everywhere. If you don’t want that then you should go somewhere else.
Also the James River Icehouse is right across the road from the campground and it’s excellent!! Great burgers and people there are super friendly!!

I really did enjoy my spot on the number 3 the 10th I'm glad that I had campers across the way and close to the bathroom and the river was just beautiful wish there was more water but all in all it was a great time

Dos Rios was there PERFECT spot for my family! We stayed 3 nights at the Tiny Cabin 12. It had everything we needed from kitchen appliances, to clean bedding and towels! This space accommodated me my partner, my 8 month old, 8 year old and our German shepherd. Super comfortable, nice AC, hot showers, and a fire pit to cook on outside. The main guy that was working there helped us as soon as we arrived! He was a huge help to us during our stay! The river area was so beautiful every morning and evening, very clean around the whole RV park. I highly recommend this place to anyone especially if you have kids or pets! Everyone around us was very respectful and polite ❤️❤️ We will be back again!

We chose to tent camp at dos Rios and had a great experience! The grounds were beautiful! It was a little less private than we expected however we were lucky and there were not many people present on the nights we chose to camp. Bathrooms were present and available but were a little dirty but this also wasn’t a huge deal to us. Overall we will be back and enjoyed our time!

1 night at Dos Rios - Hill Country Adventure
I had the pleasure of staying in 5A already set up Tents with a stunning from the bed. SO peaceful and relaxing, near the bathhouse with hot showers. Clean, comfortable and as a single person traveling I felt safe here!!

It was such a fun experience staying at Boulderdash! We had our 3 kids, ages 2,4,8 and they all had something fun to do. We enjoyed the river, riding our bikes around our tent site, hiking at hill country state park, and exploring the property. Beautiful views from the grilling area, got to see some hummingbirds right next to us. Overall lovely time.

We loved our stay so much! We love that there are different camping options (cabins, RV’s, tents), the location is 10/10 as well! We hiked to Enchanted Rock in the morning and went to Fredericksburg for late lunch and back to our camp for a late afternoon swim. The only thing that we gotta be careful are fishing lines as some of them still have hooks! Kudos to the staff as well for being so helpful and present.

We stayed here over Spring Break and had the best time! My kids said they wanted to stay forever, they said it was dreamy to have had the “biggest backyard in the world” The house it it cute and cozy, exactly like you can see in the pictures.
Even though the river water was low, my kids were able to play there and we all made wonderful memories.

Host worked with us to change into a cabin last minute due to cold front that would have otherwise stopped us from staying overnight. The team was helpful and the site as a whole was really neat. Hoping to go again in summer to experience the river more.
