This was my first Hipcamp experience and honestly i don’t know if there’s another one out there that can beat this! If you’re into overlanding this is perfect! Wilson was an amazing host, easy to communicate with and made sure we had everything we needed! I will be going back multiple times a year just for a get away!

If you are searching for a silent, unique retreat, look no further. The main campsite was comfortable with plenty of amenities and tables to spread out. There is an outhouse nearby to this campsite, too. We had fun exploring. Wilson provided us firewood when we first arrived and came back again with another load for the second night. He is a wonderful host and makes you feel welcomed. We had a wonderful time! I would highly recommend this place to everyone and we hope to return. I think it's worth the price for the seclusion, set up, and beautiful surrounding.

Grapevine Springs Retreat
Campsite was awesome and very convenient with what is offered. You’re surrounded by ridges and a creek with a natural spring and swimming hole within close distance. Only complaint is the drive in. It’s about 4 miles into the ranch through creek beds and rocky terrain so you’re only going about 5 mph and takes about 30 minutes just to get to the campsite. Once you’re there, you’re committed so be sure to grab all the supplies you need for your trip.

I had a great time and was the only guest for the two days I was there so Wilson suggested I stay at the “Main” campsite. It had an awning, tables, and everything needed for cooking and entertaining. Wilson is a solid guy, we had a great chat and enjoyed a beer. I highly recommend this spot. I’m an avid HipCamper and this one has became my favorite. Can’t wait to share it with my misses and friends. P.S. the site had some great trails for exploring.

Had my son's boy scout patrol campout there this past weekend and had an amazing time. Wilson could not have been more hospitable and went above and beyond to make it a campout everyone would remember. He even guided us on a ~3 mile hike of the ranch and brought a friend with him to help the boys learn some new knots. The ranch is absolutely gorgeous and our campsite was perfect, nestled among a canopy of trees by a dry creekbed. Could not recommend this place any more, we will definitely be back.

Wilson is an awesome host! He met us at the entrance and lead us on the trail to our primitive campsite. The trail was a lot of fun and really added to the experience of being in the fall colored Texas hill country. Campsite was perfect with wraparound views. Also perfect for stargazing. We will definitely be back soon with more friends.

Wilson was the best host! Drove me and my son out to the main campsite while pointing out each stop along the way including the swimming hole, 2 bar hill incase we need service and told us we could explore anything else. Found a really cool spot on a ridge to camp for the night with amazing views of the sunset and sunrise. Don’t hesitate to book with Wilson he is very accommodating and was cool to hear he’s a 5th generation rancher and the family has been there since the 1800’s! We will definitely be back!

What a great spot! The host was really much appreciated. All the hip camps I go to I never really get to meet the owner and basically just get a gate code. While he was in town and we enjoyed the water hole he brought us back some beer! The spot is great and you pretty much just pick where you want to camp. Wilson will help you get to your spot. We will be back.

Words cannot express how incredible this place is. Shaded campsite with large coverage, places to sit, shade, furnished grills, great fire pits for both hanging and cooking, hammocks, swings, swim pool for the kids with a rock slide, this place is amazing! Oh and did I forget to mention zebras & oryx!?! It can’t get better than this beautiful place. Definitely pay for all of the extras like Wilson’s tour & don’t miss the sunset on 2 bar hill. Enjoy it!! Our whole family did! See you every year for more memories!!

The beauty of this hill country land is amazing. Quiet and peaceful. My family and I enjoyed the clear water of the swimming hole, it was cool but perfect when the sun was over us. Wilson is very nice, helpful and fun guy! He was a great guide showing us all around the property and giving us options as to our campsite. There’s plenty of space for small or large groups. We got the opportunity to enjoy the less rough off-road trails and saw some beautiful views. If you’re lucky enough like we were, you’ll get to enjoy all the adventures this property has to offer.

Seventh trip to Grapevine! We took along a family that had never been camping like that and I think they are hooked! We had some cows at the campsite and the kids thought that was just amazing :)

Grapevine Springs Retreat
Our second time staying here and we are already talking about when we are going back. We were 16 people including 4 kids and were able to spread out over the campsite so we all had our own space and weren't on top of each other. Th kids had a blast running around and swimming in the swimming hole. Plus the sky was clear so we got a great view of the milky way. Since our first visit, Wilson has been improving the site and added a roof over the kitchen area which added some nice shade for sitting around the picnic table and hanging out. Wilson was great and extremely responsive to all our questions. He is very knowledgeable about the property, it's history and it's great to hear him speak about it.

We had a fantastic and peaceful time. The property is huge, and a high clearance vehicle is a must. Four wheel drive is recommended for exploring.
This is a true rugged experience and it's absolutely beautiful here. We've stayed at a few similar style ranches in the region, but this is our new favorite.

Absolutely incredible experience! From the moment I arrived, I couldn't stop smiling as I took in the breathtaking beauty of the land. The seclusion was simply amazing. With 3,300 acres all to myself, it felt like a dream. This is hands down the best country hill ranch in Texas – a true hidden gem. The owner was fantastic, personally showing me the way to our camp and then letting me enjoy every moment to the fullest. The swimming was amazing and fresh for this summer heat. I can't wait to make this a regular getaway. Highly recommend!

I think this was our seventh trip to Grapevine Springs and just like all the times before it did not disappoint. We explored some of the far corners of the property and found a pond that our daughter named “Frog Pond”. I love that we keep finding new can amazing examples of nature on this beautiful land.
